Welcome, fellow achievement hunter.
Ever since the introduction of the rewards track, each expansion has always brought us a handful of achievements to complete in order to gain more rewards: while some of them are relatively easy to complete, some others may take some time or a proper set up. In case you're wondering what's the best way to gain all that sweet sweet XP locked behind March of the Lich King's achievements, do not fret, as we have the answer you're looking for!
In this guide we'll focus our attention on the March of the Lich King Death Knight achievements and provide at least one way to complete each of them so that you'll be able to get closer to the end of your reward track.
Disclaimer: as always, all expansion achievements can be completed in Ranked Standard, Ranked Wild, Arena, Casual & Heroic Duels and Classic - Casual Standard, Casual Wild and Tavern Brawl will not count towards your hunt! Moreover, we'll always take Ranked Standard as the default game format for our strategies: if we happen to have some strategies or particular interactions belonging to other modes to highlight, we'll be sure to specify it.
Here are all the achievements we're going to complete together:
- The Limit Does Not Exist - Gain 80 Health with Vampiric Blood.
- Parting Gifts - Draw 10 cards with Acolyte of Death in one game.
- Blight Widow - Summon 20/40/80 Zombies with Blightfang.

March of the Lich King Death Knight Achievements Overview
The first round of achievement for Death Knight, and a good one: there are no difficult tasks for you! Even Blight Widow, which is the grindyest one, is not impossible by any means. A good start for Arthas.
How to Complete the "The Limit Does Not Exist" Death Knight Achievement
- Requirement: Gain 80 Health with Vampiric Blood.
- Speed Rating: 4/5.
- XP Points Rewarded: 200 XP
- Related Achievements:
- Neutral's Blight of the Scourge.
The most difficult part of this achievement is the fact that, being Vampiric Blood a triple Blood spell, you'll be forced to run a BBB list; other than this, you should not meet too many obstacles. 80 Health to gain means 8 Vampiric Blood casts (16 if you aren't able to fulfill the corpse requirement, but it's not a stiff limitation, so you shouldn't have any problems), which is a rather easy result to accomplish.
- Death Knight has a very narrow spell pool, so cards like Venomous Scorpid, Nerubian Vizier and especially School Teacher are perfect for finding extra copies of Vampiric Blood.
- Same goes for Hematurge, which can Discover minions and weapons too, but is limited to Blood cards.
- If you manage to teach Vampiric Blood to a Nagaling, make sure to combine it with Brann Bronzebeard!
- Wild format note: Archmage Vargoth and Educated Elekk can increase the number of Vampiric Bloods you can cast in a single game.
How to Complete the "Parting Gifts" Death Knight Achievement
- Requirement: Draw 10 cards with Acolyte of Death in one game.
- Speed Rating: 5/5.
- XP Points Rewarded: 200 XP
- Related Achievements:
- Death Knight's Blight Widow - It's not core to Parting Gifts, but you may as well run Blightfang while you're at it.
- Neutral's Blight of the Scourge.
- Neutral's Here Comes the Sun.
10 cards in a single game is quite the annoying achievement, considering that your opponent won't just leave Acolyte of Death on the board! Fortunately for us, we identified a reliable synergy between the aforementioned Acolyte and Army of the Dead.
- This is a 2-turns combo you can pull off with a Frost/Unholy/Unholy deck.
- Once you've hoarded enough Corpses, on turn 8 you go Acolyte of Death into Army of the Dead.
- Kill the 5 Rushers.
- Draw 5 cards.
- Doesn't matter if you overdraw any.
- Repeat the combo during the following turn.
- Done!
How to Complete the "Blight Widow" Death Knight Achievement
- Requirement: Summon 20/40/80 Zombies with Blightfang.
- Speed Rating: 3/5.
- XP Points Rewarded: 100, 100 and 500 XP
- Related Achievements:
- Neutral's Blight of the Scourge.
A bit long, but not difficult achievement: in the end, you can "infect" only 7 targets at most, so the progress will be a bit on the slow side. What really surprised us is that Blight Widow tracks the Zombies summoned by Tomb Guardians, which has mainly two implications:
- You have access to a secondary (and more effective) source of Zombies generation, which will speed up your completion significantly.
- You can complete Blight Widow even if you don't own Blightfang!
- Try to play Blightfang when your side of the board isn't empty, so that you will be able to trade and summon a couple Zombies right off the bat.
- Zola the Gorgon gives you another Blightfang, while Northshire Farmer shuffles even more copies into your deck.
- Brann Bronzebeard is another card you may want to consider.

Comments
I have one small note : for the achievement "Blight Widow" you don't need blightfang because cards like Tomb guardians work too if you summon 2/2 zombies with taunt it counts for the achievement no matter how you summon them
For Vampiric Blood achievement, if you have at least 6 corpses on turn 6, making a combo with Archmage Vargoth speeds up the progress by great margin in Wild. 20 Health gain in 1 turn is no joke, I must tell. I also used Educated Elekk to shuffle said spell more than discovering via RNG.
For Blightfang achievement, Tomb Spider is also a card that helped me find it in Wild. Northshire Farmer allowed me to shuffle more of Blightfang and I also used Body Wrapper to try finding DK spidey.
Vargoth, Elekk and Farmer are very smart deckbuilding choices!
Thank you for pointing out these improvements!
My pleasure. I will point out "wild cheats" whenever I can hehe.
I appreciate a lot you guides ! Tks
Excellent job Avalon! Keep the awesome work!! Achievement hunters are very pleasedddddddd
Glad to read this!
First guide of the whole bunch - more are about to come very soon, so stay tuned ;)
Grind up, my fellow achievement hunters!
Brann goes well too.
"Blight Widow": Youthful Brewmaster proved to be very useful to me.
