Welcome, fellow achievement hunter.
Ever since the introduction of the rewards track, each expansion has always brought us a handful of achievements to complete in order to gain more rewards: while some of them are relatively easy to complete, some others may take some time or a proper set up. In case you're wondering what's the best way to gain all that sweet sweet XP locked behind Fractured in Alterac Valley's achievements, do not fret, as we have the answer you're looking for!
In this guide we'll focus our attention on the Alterac Valley Warrior achievements (here's the full list of all the Alterac gameplay achievements) and provide at least one way to complete each of them so that you'll be able to get closer to the end of your reward track.
Disclaimer: as always, all expansion achievements can be completed in Ranked Standard, Ranked Wild, Arena, Casual & Heroic Duels and Classic - Casual Standard, Casual Wild and Tavern Brawl will not count towards your hunt! Moreover, we'll always take Ranked Standard as the default game format for our strategies: if we happen to have some strategies or particular interactions belonging to other modes to highlight, we'll be sure to specify it.
In case you're still deep in your achievement hunt, worry not: we prepared a guide for each class (and neutrals!) for you to take inspiration from, so that you'll be able to complete them in no time for those sweet sweet XP points.

Alterac Warrior Achievements Overview
One meaningless grind, a reasonable one and a particular shenanigan: here's how we can sum up Alterac Warrior's achievements. While My Lair, My Terms seems like a pain in the arse, Uncle Drek Wants YOU! and What Happens When...? won't ask you to spend hours in front of a screen, which is a good sign when talking about achievements.
Edit: updated with the Onyxia's Lair Mini-Set "Hit It Like You Mean It" achievement.
How to Complete the "My Lair, My Terms" Warrior Achievement
Requirement: Deal 100/200/400 damage with Iceblood Garrison.
Speed Rating: 1/5.
Like, why? And why so much damage? This has to be one of the grindiest achievements of the set, because it asks you to do things with a card that currently doesn't have what it takes to see play in a competitive environment. We're not saying Iceblood Garrison will never see play, but it's just that now it doesn't, so having to deal 400 damage with it is straight up cruel.
That having said, we came up with a few ways to speed things up:
- Drakkari Enchanter doubles the end-of-turn triggers.
- Mo'arg Artificer deals double spell-damage to all minions.
- Spell Damage is likely to exponentially increase your damage output.
In particular, Spell Damage seems to be the most common and reliable way for us to exploit Iceblood Garrison and therefore get My Lair, My Terms done as fast as possible. We're gonna pair it with Mad Summoner, which at this point deserves praise given how many achievement completions it has enabled by itself so far.
Obviously, the format is going to be Wild. Here's what we're going to do:
- Set up an Iceblood Garrison.
- During the following turn, Play Guild Trader into Mad Summoner (pay attention to the order!), for a Whirlwind that deals a total of 42 damage (1/10th of the total damage you have to deal!).
- Being that Trader and Summoner are non-Legendary units, you can execute the combo twice per game.
- To the Front! helps you to get your combo online ahead of time and also gives you progress on the Uncle Drek Wants YOU! achievement.
- If you are against Aggro (Pirate Warrior), consider dropping Iceblood Garrison on curve, maybe followed up by Bloodmage Thalnos.
- Wild format note: Malygos's +5 Spell Damage seems a fun way to deal some AoE damage with Iceblood Garrison.
How to Complete the "Uncle Drek Wants YOU!" Warrior Achievement
Requirement: Save 100 Mana on minions with To the Front!
Speed Rating: 3/5.
Probably one of the most reasonable grinds of the entire Alterac achievement set: 100 discount in mana isn't a lot, especially since you can run two copies of To the Front! in your deck, and you can get the discount effect multiple times in a single turn.
Therefore, there are two approaches to Uncle Drek Wants YOU!: the first one is having a genuine and sheer grind, trying to get the most out of each match; the second one is taking it slow, enjoying the possibilities that To the Front!'s effect opens up.
For the grindy approach, we're going Wild, and in particular we try to exploit The Witchwood's Echo keyword:
- Play both copies of To the Front!.
- Play one Echo minion over and over again.
- You have SN1P-SN4P, Walnut Sprite and Phantom Militia.
- Repeat during the next game.
The second approach is jamming some Captain Galvangar OTK shenanigans, which consists of:
- Gain at least 15 Armor throughout the course of the game.
- Frozen Buckler is obviously incredibly useful in doing so.
- Play double To the Front!.
- Play Captain Galvangar and a Faceless Manipulator next to it.
- Play a Battleground Battlemaster between the two Galvangars and hit the opponent in the face for 30 exact damage.
How to Complete the "What Happens When...?" Warrior Achievement
Requirement: Smash a minion into the enemy hero for lethal damage using The Unstoppable Force.
Speed Rating: 4/5.
The fastest way to complete What Happens When...? is to include Rokara, the Valorous into an aggressive deck and deal the lethal blow with The Unstoppable Force's effect. And, to be honest, what's better to assault your opponents than Questline Raid the Docks Pirate Warrior?
We literally took the most common list out there are included Rokara, the valorous in place of the most expensive minion, Stonemaul Anchorman. There's no guarantee you'll get the achievement done on the first try, but it shouldn't take you much to earn your XP.
How to Complete the "Hit It Like You Mean It" Warrior Achievement
Requirement: Hit 20/40 Minions Very Hard.
Speed Rating: 2/5
Wild comes in help, as Hearthstone's eternal format has a few tools that allow you to speed up Hit It Like You Mean It. To be precise, we're talking about Fool's Bane, which allows you to kill up to 4 minions with the same Hit It Very Hard. For the rest, the deck's filled with card draw and removal, allowing you to survive and draw the cards you need.
- Remember: you have to kill 40 minions with Hit It Very Hard, and not just cast it!
- Wild format note: Sul'thraze is more expensive than Fool's Bane, but still does the trick.

MarkMcKz has a video out of a Rokara OTK that uses Linecracker. I got the What Happens When...? achievement on the second game I played with it. (I would have gotten it on the first, but for Ice Block spoiling it.)
Side note: Malygos + Iceblood Garrison does make for a sweet unexpected board clear. Managed to win a couple games with this combo and that's saying something for an achievement hunting deck

Often enough too many draw options leads to full hands and I cant dump anything. So Ive basically removed some of the many draw options and included some survival tools. Finish all three tiers in 4 games.
Aim for turn 9, 2x To the Front!, 2x Mo'arg Artificer, 1x Guild Trader, 1x Mad Summoner for a massive 168 proct in one go. If you're lucky you can even add one more guild trader and basically destroy 2/3 of the requirements in one sitting.
Best part is mo'arg is currently on full dust refund for the next few days. So get it done before its gone.
