Someone at blizzard has been on r/customhearthstone while making this set. And i love it
Effect like this was made number of times over the years in different iterations, and this specifically as well. Yeah, it does look like in Scholomance Academy especially, Blizzard might have let lose more and implemented some ideas from the community and other card games (*cough* mtg *cough*), which is good.
Amazing card aside this has been the most interesting and hilarious card reveal so far! Thank you Avalon for speaking to soon and providing immense amounts of joy
EAT THAT SHOE
EAT THAT SHOE
(don't kill yourself while doing it)
EAT THAT SHOE
Shoe eating aside...
I have asked this a few times during this reveal season so far...
What the fuck is Team 5 smoking?
This is an auto include in any control deck from here on out.
This is honestly an auto include in almost any deck that isn't aggro.
Hearthstone is going to turn into a game of who drew Lorekeeper Polkelt first so they can draw their win condition first.
This is absolutely terrible for the health of this game, and Team 5 really is showing they don't know what the fuck they are doing.
This card has reignited my inner debate about quitting this game.
I have to agree. I don’t usually say things like “this breaks the game”, but this card seriously might.
Paladin’sHoly Wrath is now a TRIVIAL OTK in Wild, and an easy 10 damage in Standard. The Galakrond Rogue nerf means nothing now that you can guarantee all your best cards are discounted.
Wow.
are you impllying anyone would play this in Paladin for a meme version of Pyroblast?
Or that Galakrond Rogue can afford to upgrade Galakrond, then play this and THEN play Galakrond (while also running at least a critical mass of high cost cards?)
Yes, I’m implying that. Maybe (hopefully!) I’m not accounting for the rarity of getting the combo pieces together properly, but I still think this is a huge buff to Galakrond Rogue. That deck runs two cards that discount your draws to 0 or 1, and it was just nerfed because of the huge swings that those can give you.
I guess the counter-argument is that you’ll only get the perfect combo in 1 of 10 games. I know that I’ll be trying this on day 1 of the release, though
Not so sure to be honest. This makes it so your deck has a fixed order, which, depending on what is still in your deck, can be a huge downside.
Imagine you're playing Warlock and play this because "eheheh, time to play only big stuff and abuse my Quest hero power"...and then you need healing and that second Nether Breath is all the way down and you can't get to it in time.
If this sees play it will be in a very specific type of deck...and I have no idea what kind of deck that would even be.
Agreed. I think people underestimate how important cheap card can be in the mid-to-late game.
I could see Big Druid using this, especially with the new 10-mana spell that buffs all your stuff. But that's literally only because Druid doesn't have any comeback tools it could dig for anyways, so you might as well go big or go home.
I think I'm more interested about what kind of shoe Avalon is going to eat :p Cool card though, good for the late game in a control deck, but still might be too niche to play. Probably will function like Hemet, Jungle hunter and be used in degenerate OTK combos.
This will fit nicely in my Shirvallah OTK deck in wild! Oh and Reno priest? This enables so many combo options it will break something for sure.
Nom nom nom nom!
Interesting effect. I’m sure in some cases it’s going to be useful to guarantee pulling combo pieces, or just your big, powerful cards for later in the game. Think it’s rating of good or bad is really depends on if there is a deck in the meta that can use this effect consistently to win games.
But 5/5 stars due to the bonus effect of this guy being a shoe chef! I believe that’s like, what, second in command of a commercial kitchen... I learned that from watching Ratatouille
I'd say this is a must have in most control decks
Time to eat shoes!
Shoe eating time!
Seeing the card's effect, I don't even care about the shoe anymore. What the hell is this? With quest warlock, you can consistently draw malygos for 0. Also everything else that Regis mentioned in his video.
Combo accelerator... interesting... this guarantees me drawing Hemet, Jungle Hunter in 2 turns in Mecha'thun warlock
