I think a 5 mana 7/8 with Taunt is enough for a Soul Fragment deck to be viable. This card can stop aggro decks by itself, and one hit is almost 1/4th of your opponents life gone.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Amazing card. This is going to make control Warlock really good.
Soul Fragments look really good for Warlock, as they give you health back after tapping your hero-power. But this helps you prevent a LOT of damage from board. This is a really good pay-off if you ask me. And it's a demon, which means you can ress it with the Prime legendary. If you don't have a Soul Fragment in your deck, than you still won't feel that bad playing it. 5 mana 4/5 taunts are quite common these days. (Shield of Galakrond). I fee like this card will see a lot of play.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Very efficient when it is active, maybe enough that a slower warlock deck running School Spirits and Soul Shear could use it as an anti-aggro tool.
As for aggro, the enablers are just too slow for this to see a lot of play.
This post is discussing the wild format.
This looks kinda nuts to be honest. It's an Earth Elemental without Overload in any dedicated Soul fragment deck
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
This is good, even if you don't have fragments it's not a bad card to just drop for the stats and the taunt. But if you DO have a fragment oh boy.
Yeah, this card is super strong. Getting rid of 2 healing to get +3/+3 on a taunt is massive. This thing basically helps take up the hole left by Mountain Giant in slower Warlock lists, but can even be a big swing minion in some zoo lists.
Definitely include it in any Fragment deck since it's basically just Earth Elemental without the Overload (the reason Earth Elemental almost never saw play in the first place).
Niiiice. Those soul fragments might be worth to build a deck around.
7/8 taunt on t5/t4 just makes you look for a reliable way to put some of those sweet fragments in your deck prior to dropping that bomb on the board.

Seems kinda busted. The cards that create Soul Fragments are solid in itself, so there's not really any drawbacks in running them. I'd daresay the battlecry might get a nerf to +2/+2 at some point, unless the meta pushes Fragment Warlocks out before that and the card never gets to shine.
Pretty good in a control warlock, but not sure if it's worth running over Abyssal Summoner. Maybe alongside it.
this card= tempo and tempo=good. earth elemental without overload? just play one of the fragment cards? easy to do actually..
5 mana 7/8 with overload (0) :D
This seems very easy to trigger thanks to being a 5-drop, so most of the time this Earth Elemental with no downside. Great card, staple for the archetype.
It's fairly vanilla stats for cost - Shield of Galakrond sees play as a 4/5 taunt but only because of it's beneficial battlecry and invoke keyword.
It's demon tribal tag allows for it to be generated off of Call of the void, or even duplicated with Felosophy (with +1/+1 if played with the Outcast ability). They can also be generated from the Dark Council, which will make it a 6/8 with taunt instead, but your RNG will have to be lucky for that to happen.
If it destroys a soul fragment in your deck it becomes a massive 7/8, which is the stats of the Earth Elemental without the Overload penalty next turn.
I believe that the soul fragments for warlock were already going to see play with their synergy with the flesh giants, and these will have to be an auto-include as well.
Looks pretty nice, and it’s especially nice to see them pushing the wild deck a bit more away from Voidcallers and Gul’dan.
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
I think the biggest pay off card for soul fragment lock so far, this one will most likely be the reason that soul-lock become competitive.
I feel like it should be +2/+2 or destroy 2 soul fragments for +3/+3
Exactly my thoughts!
This is very strong and i think Soul Fragment-Lock will be a thing!
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
It has taunt, and its a big demon very reminiscent of Hooked Reaver, and that card was for the most part considered to be a strong inclusion. This one has 1 more health, and tied to a condition that is easily enough to be satisfied. Even if its not a 7/8 its still a decent taunt on 5, which warlock can appreciate.
If soul fragments is the deck, then I can't see why this wouldn't make the inclusion.
Oh my! 7/8 for 5 mana almost without restrictions and one small condition. Yeah, count me in baby.
Really strong and on t5 you should already have some fragments in your deck. Probably a real staple for the archetype.
Unlike DH, warlock has lots of control styles, so this has massive potential.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Seems like a good Felosophy target in Control lock.

A big beatstick that can be played at a time beatstick don't tend to be this big. There is a reason the Hand-locks of old included Sunfury Protector on their lists. And this guy has Giant-like stats without needing an extra card to give it Taunt, which is a nice addition.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Oh yeah, this looks fun. All you need is the right setup and you have a nice big taunt with value stats. Not likely to work well as demon synergy, though, in terms of cards that summon the demons from your hand or deck. That would bypass the powerful battlecry.
Official Lorekeeper and Spinner of Tavern Tales
By turn 5 you should probably have at least two fragments in your deck, so this will often be played as a 7/8 taunt on curve. Powerful!
Strong card that push "fragment mechanincs". It's statistc are so strong and also it have taunt with a small condition. We will hate it
The better of the two Warlock class only minions for the Soul Shard gimmick.
Thanks to denial, I'm immortal.
SO MUCH STATS
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Got it in gold, looks super cool
5 7/8? I want it!
A lot of stats can be annoying against some aggro decks to deal with.
Another good Soul Fragment card.
7/8 for 5 mana in soul decks, nice in them meh outside
All hail the banshee queen.
It does a lot for you, for the modest and affordable sum of only (5) mana ; the deal of the century!
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
This is either obviously busted which makes it bizarre that it was printed in its current state, or it's going to end up being just solid.
But I don't see how this isn't busted.
I expect this to get nerfed pretty quickly.
[Hearthstone Card (Earth Elemental) Not Found] without the overload. So much power!
5 mana 7/8 is pretty solid for warlock. I reckon it could be a one-off in some fragment decks.
5 mana 7/8 for one measly Soul?
Do we have enough Soul Frag enablers to keep this consistent? I don't think so, but maybe we are not too far from it either, and we are used to RNG by now, right? Right? Oh boy...
One of the new big guns, a reason to believe in brute force again, the key card for Fraggle Lock - gotta love this guy. I almost can't imagine not running him (or her, I suppose - do Voidthings have gender?) unless I'm just stubbornly opposed to all Soul Fragment hijinks, or just blindly loyal to the Chillwind Yeti. Another card we'll be seeing a lot of very soon.
This card alone makes me excited for the soul fragment mechanic, lets hope it's viable without quest too.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
This is very close to Mountain Giant levels of threatening, though it comes out a turn later than the giant. Still, a great payoff for the Soul Fragment package in Warlock that can also be copied through Felosophy to continue pressuring your opponent.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Very good with Sould fragment cards
-=alfi=-
5 mana 7/8 is just an abomination, just for one soul fragment. Can't wait to see it in action
This card might be the star of the shard supported cards.
Anything to do with the new Soul Fragments mechanic gets 5 stars from me! Especially this easy to set up 5 mana 8/9.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
Pfffff save the copies of this card, it will be nerfed soon.
By The Holy Light!
A very strong card with the potential for huge stats for its cost. This will surely be played.
I've danced around it a lot when talking about Soul Fragments before, but I've been too much of a coward to just say it: I think all the pay-off cards probably won't see any play at all, even when they look as insanely good as this.
Not because they're bad - because they definitely aren't - but because the deck is just better without them.
