You get spell generation, and you get spell generation... everyone gets spell generation!
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Strong body and good effect.
Good inclusion on any dragon deck.
By The Holy Light!
Definitely not going to make the cut for standard. Maybe some nice shenanigans in arena tho. Too much rng, blah.

Just too random and too slow a body to see significant play.
The statline is pretty okay though, and random spells are usually acceptable at worst, as most spells at least do something good.
This post is discussing the wild format.
Well, there's our dragon synergy at least. I have a feeling that spell generation could become key for the next few months, given it's emphasis in this set.
Official Lorekeeper and Spinner of Tavern Tales
not bad at all, but a bit too expensive. Cobalt Spellkin saw some play, but that's because it's much easier to predict what you might get (and can use).
Great Arena card though.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
4/9 for 6 isn't bad, and the effect could be strong. Might see play in spell-Dragon decks.
But bigger.
Honestly I don't think this is a bad card. It is a well designed neutral card. It is flexible, generic, not too powerful, but good enough to consider playing.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Its a 4/9 for six. That's already good enough in my eyes.
Probably see him more often out of a discover effect though, since its still effectively a bigger conditional [Hearthstone Card (cobalt spelkin) Not Found]. Too bad, I really like the art, the stats, and that its a dragon.
Great in Arena for sure, but too slow for constructed. Maybe it can find a place in slower dragon decks, but I doubt it.
Excellent, more fodder for my Dragon Casino Mage. I think its probably a bit slow though. Cobalt gave targeted spell addition, random spells might be too unreliable or niche for this to see regular play.
A good followup to Cobalt Spellkin and boosts Dragon Mage decks even more. That 9 HP body can help with control to set up the damage spells for Shaman.
Frizz Kindleroost lowering the cost of the card will make it playable... but only if Frizz hits the board before you draw it.
"We will tone down rng and resource generation and direct them mostly to mage and priest"
Yeah sure.
aren't his stats really good? also has a dragon tag.. so maybe can be used in highlander mage.
This card could slot into Highlander Mage or Highlander Priest. Probably most Highlander decks honestly. Outside of that he's pretty meh.
Effect a bit too random, as others said. Spellkin is more predictable. Still cool effect though. Always appreciate a dragon. Could see some use for sure and strong in arena.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
Now that is a spicy Dragon! Highlander lists are going to love this.
What ever happened to less resource generation across the board? But here, have a Neutral resource generator so everyone can have a bunch of spells that didn't start in their deck!
Good stats, its a dragon. Seems really good! Basicly a "better" Cobalt Spellkin.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Very interesting, could mean a lot of vaule for the right decks. On the other hand, it's slow and you need to have spell to activate the Spellburst.
Only priest is desperate enough for spell creation will to run this. But greedy priest decks where you play twice the number of cards you put in are great! But Cobalt Spellkin is better.
Vanilla stats and a relevant effect for any Dragon/Spell deck. Could easily see play in Mage and Priest, and probably some other classes (albeit to a lesser extent). There may be some opportunity cost issues with this card, as there are so many other good ways to generate resources today, but it seems like a solid card.
All that said, I don't love this card. It's a lot of resource generation for a neutral card, and while it is tacked on to a Spellburst effect (which implicitly limits its applications - lots of class/archetype pairs run spell light), it certainly feels like a card that takes away from classes that specialize in resource generation, and it adds to the resource generation fiesta that is today's standard meta game.
Germination and [Hearthstone Card (psychic split) Not Found] could make fair use of this chonker.
I really like this card, I play control priest and this seems like a great support for Dragon Priest, it gives you class spells and it has a lot of health which is really relevant in priest.
It's fine. May see play here and there b/c it's a dragon. But I don't think it's anything particularly outlandish.
This guy's got decent stats for cost, but he's a RNG win more, not a win con.
Handlock might see some value from this guy since a lot of their spells are pretty good atm, not sure if any other class will use him though
Good value, with a body statted defensively enough to survive a turn to get the spellburst off. However, I don't think it's strong enough for standard play with random spells being too unreliable.
I see this card as a premium choice on discover effects more than as auto include. Also, it can be slapped on Highlander dragon decks that have the space for it.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Could see play in hybrid Mage and Priest Dragon decks but not much outside of that. I really hope they introduce some Dragons for priest to make Dragon priest a viable deck again. I really would like to see where they go with this expansion.
9 Freakin' health for (6)mana is absurd
Wowzer!!
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Not bad, not great. Makes me wonder if there will be any way to double Spellburst, like Brann does for Battlecries.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Sticky stats. Couple that with the fact that most of the time, more spells is hardly a bad thing, and you've got yourself a decent Dragon. I can't see it being an auto-include, but it might pop up here and there, and certainly so in Arena.
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
Oh, i hate this card already. This card will provide so much value, ugh.

Sticky stat for 6 mana. It will survive almost always and guarantee this way the spellburst effect. 2 spell are nice but it lacks of taunt...
For sure it will be great in arena
Stats is cool, value is appreciated, dragon too?? The fact that it's common will make it fit to any budget deck
Really high health for the cost, and gives you more spells to activate more spellbursts. I could see this seeing play
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
I think Cobalt Spellkin is better as a dragon with spell generation as its 1 mana cheaper than Onyx Magescribe, doesn't require another card to trigger the generation, and the spells are more easily playable. Maybe Onyx Magescribe gets its chance to shine when Cobalt Spellkin rotates?
For glory, honor, and gold!
I guess is better in arena than in standard/wild
Interesting but not good enough
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Solid body with a decent upside and dragon synergy.
Slow,but nice effect
Nice value effect with really great stats for the cost, at least on the health side
All hail the banshee queen.
Nice effect, but is it too slow?
Great arena card. Great discover card. Probably never going to be put in a list in constructed. Not much else to say about this one.
Too big to play. Maybe works though. IDK.
Good body attached to a decent effect. Being a dragon is what really makes this card worth noticing, I reckon this will see some experimentation in certain decks due to the effect.
Got a Dragon tag and that's pretty much it. More "create random stuff" nonsense.
Random! More random cards!
-=alfi=-
It isn't bad, but it isn't great either.
Thanks to denial, I'm immortal.
Turn 5: Cobalt Spellkin
Turn 6: ????
Turn 7: Onyx Magescribe + 1 mana spell
Profit.
There are lots of classes that could make use of this card. It should see some play.
Spell generation! Hurray!
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
Strong stats and since it gives back two spells, it has a lot of value.
Two spells for the price of one. Goes straight into my Dragon Mage, I don't care if it's actually good or not.
