Its horrible health makes it very killable, but DH has some classic cards that rely on friendly minions dying, so maybe there'll be more synergy printed to make this more flexible. Even if not, Chaos Strike is still played so I don't see why this wouldn't be.
I wanna play this in an aggro DH list but I just know that everytime I play it I'll draw Skull of Gul'dan...
This stats though.
I checked popular decks from HSReplay. Most popular Aggro Demon Hunter deck has 24 one-two cost cards, and 6 four+ cost cards.
In this particular deck, on turn 5, most likely you can play the card you draw. It seems it can be a fine tool in the right deck.
3 mana 4/1, draw a card and (if the condition is met) gain 4 attack is good. 1 hp makes it a little weak but you gotta balance it, I suppose.
This isn't an aggro DH card. It's an aggressive value card for slower DH decks. You can't play this on curve as you won't be able to play the card drawn to get the attack buff and the card is horribly stated as well. You have a guaranteed buff in the late game if your deck doesn't go above 7 mana (which is the case for most DH decks). This card is really slow and not 100% reliable. If you don't get the buff then you just spent 3 mana to draw 1 and play a body that dies to anything which is atrocious. I wouldn't call this bad as the new legendary might allow for some crazy combo with Aldrachi Warblades and high attack and this might complement such deck but it's not really that great in any tempo based archetype and that might kill its viability.
I think even without the body, this card is quite playable. If this guy gets to hit face, DH will probably win.
So, are we not making DH viable for control too?
No?
Just aggro?
Ok. Thanks, Blizzard.
Wowza! An RNG aggro card!
No thank you.
Fresh meat for Odd Demon Hunter?
Not all odd dh which isnt even thign anymore sicne the warglaives nerf. runs to many 3 /5cost cards for this to eb consistent.
This just doesnt fit in odd dh at all and even IF it did it would see 0play anyway casue they nerfed warglaives which was onyl thing that allwoed it to compete woth other board based decks in wild and this isnt even that good and its consistent for odd dh
I've had some mild success with Aggro Odd Demon Hunter last season. It's one of the decks I play for fun when I still have enough Bonus Stars (Bronze-Plat.) until I switch to a more consistent deck to rank up. One of the biggest things holding it back is insufficient card-draw I feel, and that in addition to a likely 4 damage (the deck I play is 2/3rds 1-drops and only 4 5-drops) for 4 mana is imo pretty good, and even at worst a 3 mana 4/1 draw a card while bad isn't absolutely unplayable in aggro. Ofc I'm not saying that it'll make Aggro Odd DH more relevant again, but I think it'll make at least the deck I play more a bit more consistent.
A little skeptical about this card. On paper it looks amazing, given how aggressive dhunters are, but it costs 3, then forces you to play that drawn card to get value out of this, which means theoretically the best time to play this safely is 8 mana. Also, the card is horribly stated, taken down by just about anything, with the only good thing being that with 4 attack it will mostly trade or deal a good deal of damage to the opponent while dying.
Even playing this after a skull discount isn't all that safe, since it can also derail your current plans just to get that 4 attack value, which is really a lot of fuss for a middling reward. Plus, I think if you draw those soul shards then the deals off, so that's yet another thing to dodge.
This is more for the hyper aggro demon hunter than the soul demon hunter. The one with 1 drops for half of the deck. Or even better (worse) idea, just make a deck with all 1 drops and stillsteppers.
The hyper-aggro list has a fragile game plan, and falls apart as soon as it faces even one decently healthy taunt. The deck relies on snowballing on a bad mulligan and draw from the opponent, and this card really isn't going to improve things. This card doesn't seem bad, but I don't know if it fits into anything currently.
Ive played that deck and wasn't really that impressed. Seems like just about every meta deck can deal with something that just runs nothing but 1 drops. Also, even the simplest taunts bogs that deck down so hard its painful to watch. It has always been just a meme, trying desperately to make Glide work, rather than a real competitive deck.
Dont think this ones gonna tip any scales to be honest.
Welp, more efficient aggro tool for demon hunter.
