E.V.I.L. Fire Fest - How are your runs?

Just finished my first run with Warrior in 36 minutes and got all the rewards! I found the bomb warrior option very strong, the hero power is much stronger than the one on Dalaran Heist (1 mana, shuffle 2 5-dmg bombs) and the bosses have significantly less life.
Treasures:
1. three boombots
2. wand (draw 3, cost 0)
3. wand (draw 3, cost 0) again
Bundles: every time its possible, chose "bomb away". When not possible, went for mech synergy.
Strategy: hero power every turn. Its delayed "1 mana, 10 damage". Control the board as much as possible, because you WILL win if the game drags to turn 10 and beyond.

I did the same thing with choosing warrior, treasures were robes of guadiness and two curse of rafaam. Beat it in 30 min, rag died on turn 4 almost purely from the 4 curse of rafaam cards in his hand. I doubt I'll have a run as easy as that
well I lost as a shaman on my fourth boss.
then I went as warrior and stomped straight through all 8 bosses. the only bummer is that I did it in 40 minutes and 13 seconds, so I was 14 seconds too slow to get the reward. but I guess that's what happens when you eat lunch. :/
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Can't play yet :'(
C'thun Priest completely destroyed everything - finished in 33 mins. Tried the bomb warrior but Garr beat me good thanks to R(ock)NGesus - I shuffled at least 8-10 bombs into its deck and it never drew a single one...
25 minutes with Dr Boom. I had the 3 boombots, wand and then Rafaam.
My runs keep sucking. I can barely make it past Baron Geddon.
The end of days is coming. Doomsayer was right all along.
I was truggling against the 4th boss but finally made it up to Nefarian only to lose when he had 2 health and only god knows how many bombs in his deck! SMH.
first try sham 36 min, looks so easy with upgraded hero power.
Beated it with Burgle-styled Rogue in 26 minutes. First run. Survived Atramedes at 1HP :)
After I was defeated by Garr with Lazul for 4 times- after I increasingly modified my deck against him- I read the OP's claim and played warrior. Really easy in comparision, sadly my Laptop disconnected from the internet twice for some time and I needed 40min and 15sek. Stupid weak Wi-Fi...
33mins is my fastest but I have really bad habits of trying to kill bosses stylishly and messing around with combos then remembering I am against the clock so it was a pretty casual 33mins. Warrior with the bombs away package whenever it was available and 2 x curse of Rafaam and 1 x wand. It was too easy in all honesty.
Done it with priest too but that was 44 mins or something like that.
fastest 25min, is there any reward under 20 ?
Picked warrior, spammed bombs, cleared with a time of 28 minutes and 40 seconds on my first try.
Picked boombots on 2nd and 3rd treasure, and the wand on the first.
Bomb warrior seems ridiculously strong. I didn't even play more than 5 cards every game, just spam bombs and win.
Completed it with Shaman both times. First time was heal/elemental shaman. Second was with battlecry/shudderwock/elemental shaman.

Half assed my way through in 29.36 as bomb warrior.
I just completed another bomb warrior run in 33 minutes. I'd say to anyone looking to win this rather easily; pick warrior; choose "Bombs Away" "Armored Up" or "Iron and Steel" buckets whenever you see them in that priority. E

I got it first try as shaman in 25 min, 10 seconds. I feel fast! I went with a sort of Elemental package, but I found a quick lethal with one of my treasures (4 Mana deal 20 divided among enemies) two of the games.
Dr Boom = 33 minute run without a problem.
Just tried it for the first time, 25 mins 18 sec. As Bomb Warrior
26 min with shaman, turned all decks minions to mechwarper and had extra draws ability = easy win
26 with warrior aswell.
Some advice. Don‘t focus to much on the bomb away cards! Just pick some early game, the heropower is more than enough
Winner winner chicken dinner
24 mins with rogue, Garr destroyed me the first 3 times then I got lucky with a very aggressive start and managed to kill him by turn 4.
took more time than I should in the last two bosses, they were quite easy but I wanted to be careful because I had plenty of time left and wanted to finish it in one run.
Dr. Boom MURDERS everything in his path.
Garr (4th boss) absolutely destroys most other decks, with the exception of Hagatha thanks to that 3-mana board clear she has. Toggwaggle even gets to kill himself faster with THE CANDLE. Lazul needs to get lucky and get a Mass Dispel or she is doomed too.
The last two seem to be the worst of the four, but I could have just been unlucky.
My first try was a great success with Dr. Boom, even with relatively lousy treasures like the Deathrattle totem (0 warrior synergy) and Extra Pockets (the least useless of the 3 choices). The 7 Boombots on turn 4 were usually enough to clear any board and deal face damage, and the second hero power bomb is just overkill. I am yet to be able to get past Garr with 2 classes and beat Ragnaros with the third one, and the three are discordantly difficult in comparison to Dr. Boom.
So yeah... to be honest, I highly doubt it is worth it to grind with anyone but Boom. Technically, you can beat Garr if you open each chest on the lookout for answers to his initial board, but it just feels pointless to start every run with such a huge impediment on the 4th boss.
Psst! Hey, you want to play a couple of fun (albeit pointless) gamebooks? Become a king here, and a babysitter here.
Have only tried rogue and went aggro. won, but it took 45 mins. didnt realize there was a timing thing. guess ill play again
First try- killed by first boss when he cast Charge on a Dunemaul ogre and "missed" twice in a row for lethal. Feelsbadman.

44 minutes with priest. Didn't realize there was a time limit so I played it like any other dungeon run, debating which card buckets were best and continuing. Ended up with a shadow deck that relied on tempo but consisted of a few board clears as catch up mechanics. This was achievable because I drafted two of the backpack treasures that ensured I got an early curve, as well as the stargazing treasure for trump trades. Overall it was a lot of fun to play.
Favorite Card: Vulpera Scoundrel
Dust Wishlist: Zephrys the Great, Siamat, High Priest Amet, Psychopomp, & Plague of Death
First try!
By which I mean Garr smoked me on my first try when I got all 3+ cost cards and couldn't touch those stupid minions in time to prevent the otk.
Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey Matt, how can we get back on the right track?"
22:38 with Warrior.
Did it with the thing that reduces the cost of cards by 2 and by stacking rush minnions.
26 minutes as a Bomb Warrior. I tried Dr. Boom originally and did alright, but I made a mistake in switching through the characters. If I had stuck with my favorite from the outset, I might not have required so many attempts to win.
I suppose I should keep it up to help with that 25 million reveal.
Attempt 2, went rogue for fun RNG. 39:34. Just under that 40 for 2 goldens. :D
Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey Matt, how can we get back on the right track?"
Hey, first message here, I also thought that dr boom was best after my first try and I thought the hero powers were nowhere near the others, but it's doesn't make for "explosive games". I found that Hagatha's power is actually way more efficient if you wanna reduce the game length.
I don't know why, but she's the only one to have an automatic passive power "hero power costs 1 and use it twice" so you can start upgrading real fast. The trick is to get the 3 boom bots at the start of the game treasure as fast as possible, this will make the games absolutely ridiculous most of the time since you can upgrade them twice each turn and you're sure to start with a potential to upgrade and lots of them. When choosing treasures you mostly choose the face damage, since you'll never play any card costing over 4 manas. Also try to click anything you can skip, it'll save you a few seconds every time, like the beginning of game passive powers and cards your opponent play. You'll become a spam click master after that :D
I'm not saying this is the most fun and strategic way, but if you want lightning fast games, that's the hero power I recommend. Out of 8 tries with it, I was below 26mn each time I didn't lose (twice) and my best is 22mn32 so far. It's definitely beatable but I don't really feel like trying to beat that any further since the games aren't very exciting, you're just clicking away ;)
How do you guys beat garr with (bomb) warrior?? Lost 4 times vs him. I don't have enough early game to get rid of enough tokens...
I took rogue, tried as fast as possible, and ended up on 37 minutes. I was thinking that it is good time, but when i see others here... Probably not the best pick to go under 40 minutes.
I do what I must, when I must. Know this well.
Failed twice with Shaman, failed once with Rogue. Breezed through it with Warrior. This is a pretty fun brawl though. Keep em coming Blizz
27 min clear with Rogue, was super easy! Then went and cleared it with the other classes for fun. I have something like 49 bosses defeated in total.
Lost vs Rag's SMOrc using bomb warrior this morning then had to go ..
Gonna try for real after work and Im definitely not scouting for fun strats here durimg lunch time.
ARES summons Erymanthian Huffer.
ARES declares attack with Huffer .
Adonis' hp reached 0. ARES wins!
Went with Shaman and finished the run in 46 minutes, which I guess was ok for a 1st run.
Treasures: 1. Magic Wand, 2. Start with 2 extra cards, 3. ..dont remember
As shaman I got 7/8 bosses defeated easily with just picking elementals, but then Ragnaros wiped the floor with me and killed me on turn 6
I played with Togwaggle and went through all bosses with breeze. 29 something minutes.
-=alfi=-
So far I've only tried with shaman and it's been a cakewalk every time. Apparently it's even easier with Warrior?
Under 25 minutes. Breezed through it by choosing Dr boom and selecting Curse of Rafam twice (so that they were taking eight damage per turn at the start). Barely even interacted with the bosses.
The most fun that ive had with it is drafting "The Muscle" (battlecry - add 3 random cards to your hand, they cost 0) with shaman and then casting Duplatransmogrifier on it to replace all of the cards in my deck with it. Much more enjoyable than my warrior run, and actually pretty decent if you are just looking to churn through some quests. Overall its been a decent if unspectacular brawl, ive beaten rag with all four classes now and doubt ill return to it.
I've done it with all the heroes. All of them were under 40 mins. My fastest run was with Togwaggle actually but him and Dr. Boom felt easier than the other two. The "trick" with the Garr is you have to have some early game to damage some of his minions on your own turn because if one dies it's just one damage, if two die at the same time it's four, three is nine etc. As long as more than ~3 of them won't die at the same time, you can just go face instead of worrying about clearing the board though. They will die anyway and he doesn't have much in terms of buffs.
I can utterly smoke most of the bosses, but I swear Garr is cheating. I had over 18 bombs in his deck, and he just never drew them and always had the damn card that replenishes his stupid minions. I'm 9 runs down on warrior still. I cannot seem to get past him. Feels bad man.
27 minutes first try with warrior! Quite easy, maybe I'll try to be faster or try with the other heroes
Not everyone is mother tongue! Roar.
Lost three consecutive times with Bomb Warrior, only to do 5 playthroughs after that (All classes + Shaman for a second time - working for the card reveals!)
I found 3 that Hand of Rafaam is pretty neat for aggressive decks (as some opponents have autocast hps and can't get rid of them until turn 5), also 3 Boombots in the beginning is nice, and all the treasures that are OP anyway (draw 2 extra, cards cost half, etc)
Fastest run is 27:14 bt
Garr is definitely the toughest stage for me. If you don't have enough early game drops that can survive his whirlwind (or if you get unlucky at mulligan) you will get smashed. I beat him with warrior a few times and won the run on my 3rd or 4th attempt but I was picking all cards based solely on mana cost. Get cheap cards b/c you're playing off-curve intentionally to stuff bombs. When you get to Garr you have to hard mulligan for anything that will be playable right away. I had decent success with T1 HP followed by T2 Town Crier + HP then T3 (something) + HP, rinse and repeat. 2x [Hearthstone Card (Hand of Rafaam) Not Found] is outrageous, though, and made every match super easy. 25:18 without being a speed freak with all clicks and decisions.
Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey Matt, how can we get back on the right track?"
Really cool brawl! I did it with warrior on first try in 28 minutes.
Can we check anywhere how far we've come towards the card reveals?
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?
Harry James Potter-Evans-Verres, hpmor.com
In contrast to most players here, I finished with Togwaggle and not with Dr. Boom.
Turns out that going Bag of Coins, The Coin, The Coin, The Coin, The Muscle, Explorer's Hat, The Coin, The Coin, The Coin, The Coin, Counterfeit Coin, Edwin VanCleef, Molten Reflection .... is quite a good turn one play.
Stealing stuff has never been more fun. It was a bit RNG though, cause I almost died on boss 7/8 due to bad draws at first. I kept drawing expensive stuff and discarding my cheap, good stuff.
OMG that bag of coins is so good. That's a crazy turn 1. Nice
Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey Matt, how can we get back on the right track?"
I finally beat it and did it in 37 minutes. I was very surprised. I thought it was going to be closer to 50 minutes. Garr is definitely the worst but I had trouble with other bosses too where they easily had 15 plus bombs in the deck but just wouldn't draw them. Then the second to last boss that has the hero power to draw two cards kept burning the bombs which was very frustrating. Now after all that I got two golden cards that I will most likely dust lol.
Some things make it look like it isn’t completely thought through, like they had not enough time to finish it before going live. Just my experience from a quick try out with all classes:
1) Warrior is way to easy
2) It took me 3 tries to beat the first boss with priest. It was so awkward, I just didn’t seem to find a win condition. After that, it was (too?) easy again.
3) It happened several times that I threatened lethal with my minions and instead of clearing them, the boss went face with his minions (while I was completely out of range for him to kill me).
What do you think?
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?
Harry James Potter-Evans-Verres, hpmor.com
All good points but I'm not sure the conclusion that it wasn't "thought through" is right. AI has always been tremendously stupid in HS solo content.
Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey Matt, how can we get back on the right track?"
update ;)
So far I've tried a few times with shaman. The farthest I've gotten in a run is 4 bosses killed. Maybe I'll try warrior later. I'm not sure I care about the rewards anyway.
Cleared with Warrior in 23:55.
I started a run on my lunch yesterday that I cleared thinking it wouldn't track the time I wasnt in game. Turns out I was wrong and first cleared it in just over 4 hours lol.
Going to give the other bosses some runs to see how quick I beat it with the other bosses.
“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity” ― Sun Tzu
How are people beating this with the warrior deck? I lose every single time to the 7th boss because he burns every single damn bomb. He's at 9 cards, draws 2. First isn't a bomb, 2nd (once his hand is full) is always one of my bombs.
Regarding the last point, it's something that the Dalaran Heist AI sometimes does as well, and as best I can tell it happens when they have no way to avoid lethal on board, so it's not really a misplay.
Oh, I haven't bought the Heist so I couldn't know that. But at least in my runs, it happened they could have avoided lethal and just ignored it. Like, they have 10 HP left and I finished my turn with two minions who have a combined sum of 12 attack points. My opponent had one minion on board and the "destroy a damaged minion heropower". So, instead of sacrifizing his minion and kill one of mine with the heropower to prevent lethal, he went face, played some random cards without any impact and lost. Similar things happened when I threatened letahl and they used to burn spells to go face in stead of killing my minions... Really stupid AI it seems.
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

Second succesfull run: 31.39 with shaman. Had a deck basicaly consisting out of grimmer patrons (don't know their name in english) and Hagatha's Touch...combined quite well, won round 5 or 6 with the last three bosses.
23 minutes
Shaman, random mana treasure, turn all minions into Y'Shaarj during second game.
Longest boss lived until turn 7.
I think u20 would have been possible if i optimse further the deck during later matches.
That is a really tough match b/c the bombs get burned. It takes some luck and a good early board. That's the only matchup I DON'T use the HP for bombs on T1. I mulligan for 1 drops and try to get minions on the board to reduce hand size and then can smorc pretty easily. Again, The Hand of Rafaam plays a huge role if you can get it.
Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey Matt, how can we get back on the right track?"
32 minutes with Togwaggle.
I got the +3 spell damage robe, Mr Muscle and I forgot the third, didn't matter.
I got 6 eviscerate and an Edwin Vanclief that got buffed to infinity last game thanks to the bag of coins.
That was fun!
"I'm not scared, you're scared!" - A random talking Chicken
3 out of 4 classes done, only Warrior remains.
Triple Hand of Rafaam on my first Dr. Boom run.
The bombs were practically irrelevant. Easy turn four win against Ragnaros. Holy cow.
Tried warrior. Died to Rags on my first run. Was probably over 40 minutes anyway. Haven't tried again.
Tried Boom first, lost to Atramedes due to bad luck. Tried Hagatha and got milled by Vaelastrasz. Tried Boom again and got 40 min 22 sec, so goddamn close that I had to at least try one more run.
Boom again, got Grimmer Patron and The Hand of Rafaam, the synergy of which is insane. If he tries to remove patrons, he keeps the curse. Play the curse to get rid of it, the patrons swarm the board. I actually drew the patron most games too, carrying hard. And the cherry on top was I think the fastest Rag ever by topdecking the Orb of the Untold on turn 4 for exact lethal :P
Did it with Shaman finally at 38:20 lol.
Was actually rather funny run. In first game, i managed to change all my minions to Tunnel Troggs. I was feeling pretty good about it, for about a second. I had one Overload card in my deck and didnt get offered another one until like 4th boss. But the one Feral Spirit i did have, i got relatively often, the deck was small after all, so it was kinda working out. At worse i had a 1-drop to evolve twice next turn rather consitently.
I won the game vs Rag by changing all my minions second time to Lifedrinkers for the face damage at one point. Could not compete with the value and dmg Rag was putting out, so i went yolo. He was making some stupid face hits with the weapon into my few high attack minions, so i just leaned into the smorc and it paid off :)

I just finished the new brawl this week in 25 minutes. It was as easy as a double Curse of Rafaam run, and much more fun.
Shaman hero, Robes of Gaudiness, and all the Battlecry picks I could get my hands on. Brann Bronzebeard plus Fungalmancer on Turn 3 is just disgusting.
Quintessential Dad Legend player.
I just beat it in 50 minutes and got the golden Rafaam's Scheme. Is that the only reward or is there another card for beating it faster?
The golden Raffam´s Scheme is this week´s reward for beating it with Raffam. There were other rewards for beating it in less than 40 minutes last week, but I think they are not active anymore.(I think there were two rewards, a golden card for under 1 hour and another for under 40 min, one rare and one common).
I was hoping more for this week, since last one was so much fun! Adding only one playable carachter and keeping everything else the same was underwelming, Even more since Raffan is so strong and easy to beat.
