Completely stuck on Dark Portal here. Doesn't seem to be any way to trade efficiently with the deck given. By the time I get Consecration (Equality is in the deck? Really?) The opposing board is 6 wide and 4 toughness.
I guess it's just persevere for the nuts draw.
Since they added DH I wouldn't be surprised if we got the DK class one day, but I don't think this is any sort of hint towards it. After all, it would be pretty tough to tell Uther's story without including his death at the hands of Arthas. Nevertheless, when DK does eventually arrive, and inevitably has Arthas/Lich King as the basic hero, I'm sure his Book of Heroes will involve that fight.
I have been curious for a while how they will handle The Lich King since they went out of their way to replace Illidan's card with Xavius, making it clear they don't want the basic heroes to have minion cards too. I guess they could choose a different character to be the basic hero, but that would feel as wrong as not using Illidan for DH.
I'll tell you what I would consider a hint at an 11th class though: if we (finally) go to Pandaria, have a bunch of Shado-Pan cards, but there is no sign of Taran Zhu. That would scream "monks are coming eventually and we are saving him for that".
I don´ know if it´s just me being lucky, but I got the last boss on first try. I´ve expected more but still it was a lots of fun for me.
I don't think you were lucky. Just using your hero power was sufficiant enough till halfway through the match. I can't call that difficult in all honesty.
my bundle was super worth
got 2 leg in the last pack, one being gold

Is it just me that thinks that the Arthas portrait MUST be available in game?
Hands down one of the best portraits I've seem in hs. This and a male Rogue Hero, can it be blizzard, pleeeease!? I would even consider buying stuff again
p.s.I know they don't read this forum, but just getting it out there
The Arthas portrait IS available in game. 'Just' beat the Lich King in the Knights of the Frozen Throne adventure with all 9 original classes. I assume you can still do this. Unless you want his portrait from the final encounter, but that's definitely not happening until Death Knight becomes a playable class.
As for a male rogue hero: well there should be a new rogue hero coming soon (TM). It's been a long time since they teased one was planned, and unless they plan these several years in advance it can't be far off now. Who knows whether it will be male though?
I was referring to the final encounter one. I have the Arthas from KOTFT, but this art is in a different league. It would be even more adequate to the lore of KOTFT. I'm affraid it was one of the options but since they have gone with all the censorship and "cartoonization" of the art in hearthstone to please asian market :( . Yeah, I still remember [Hearthstone Card (Succubus) Not Found]
I'm not sure de-sexualisation is really the same thing as "cartoonization", and certainly it feels more like a response to modern western ideals than censorship for China. Hiding skeletons on the other hand...
Anyway, none of that has anything to do with which Arthas skin we got. That is a simple matter of representing the Paladin class with a Paladin and not a Death Knight. They can break class boundaries if they end up at a kind of non-class, e.g. N'Zoth isn't anything, and Maiev is a warden which is kind of a rogue but not really. But breaking class boundaries by using another playable class (in WoW) is a no-go.
Lost more than I'd like to admit, definitely the hardest one so far for me. Some matchups felt like I need to draw very specific cards or the boss needs to have a slow start to have a real chance in the fight.
The match against The Dark Portal: do you have Equality + Consecration by turn 8? Auto win. If not, go ahead and concede. Took me at least 10 tries. Really lame!
I agree it's certainly the worst designed fight of them all. The deck suggests that you should build towards an OTK with Medivh and Holy wrath, except that it doesn't work against a 100 HP portal... the 'shuffle a minion into your deck' is much better spent on Turalyon than on Medivh. Having Equality + Consecration is a big help, but consecration itself can do wonders - you can easily draw into it by stalling and drawing or even win without it with some luck too. The portal plays a sub-par zoo-deck and you have to do everything you can to keep it under control. So mulligan and play for tempo. There isn't much in the deck, but the Silver hand knights, Fight trainer, and even the ancient mages and air raids can help a bit. As soon as you stabilize your big hitters and HP will carry you.
I think I got it on fourth or fifth attempt, but had to Equality pre-emptively a turn before and believe in the heart of the cards to get Consecration (which I eventually got from my Prismatic Lens topdeck).
Uther's deck just lacks all proper early minions for good trades and Dark Portal's token-creating cards just steamroll over you way too easily. The deck is built as a Holy Wrath Paladin but you definitely either get the board control or lose before even getting close.
Breezed through everything but then got absolutely whacked by Arthas at the end multiple times, I only won after I finally drew my consecrate on my fourth try lol.
isnt the hero power more than enough to deal with the stuff he puts out?
So I'm finally done with the adventure, here's my opinion of it.
There's plenty to like, but also dislike. This is probably the most frustrating of all the book of heroes so far, not least because this is also likely the most difficult, for me at least. Basically you can get your arse kicked convincingly as early as mission 2, where the Doomhammer's minions can destroy the walls very easily (as early as turn 3, he can already basically destroy the first) and nearly all of them can deal direct damage or have rush/charge. Uther's minions on the other hand are largely shit, with only Turalyon (6 mana) providing any semblance of a board swing. I only won because I had him out early, and my King Terenas happily buffed my paragon of light at the very moment I was about to die the following turn. Without of which, it would be the third time I resetted this one.
The next one would be the dark portal match, which is honestly a very interesting concept. Instead of the usual, you're presented to play a Shirvallah control paladin match against zoolock, of which zoolock will always be playing on curve no matter what. I'm not entirely certain what the game expects you to do, rush the portal and ignore board? Not really possible since you can die pretty easily by turn 5 doing that. Control board? Its a zoolock and your cards are expensive and conditional. At the end I only managed it because Turalyon on 6 is pretty much broken and carried me from there. Died twice in this one.
Blackrock blademaster is perhaps the worst offender of them all. OP hero power means you cant play anything for the first 4 turns, and he has both sap and backstab, as well as a score of really good tempo minions. You really have to just pray that he cant equip and buff weapons early in the game or its all downhill from there, and keep Arthas in the mulligan for a turn 5 play along with your weapon. At some point he'll run out of cards, and hopefully you still got some minions in between Arthas going down so your weapon does the job of keeping you alive. Died 3 times, before I realised that Arthas is guaranteed in your phase 1 mulligan so that's pretty much a hint on how to beat this.
As I mentioned, there's a lot to like from this too.
That final 2 matches against Malganis and Arthas is perhaps the best so far. The gameplan is simple, both sides are playing powerful stuff, and the storylines are really good, takes me back to my day playing W3 again. Perhaps the only time so far in the book of heroes that I didn't just mute the dialogue. Testament to how good it was in the old days of Reign of Chaos. My only gripe is that the dialogue has obviously been cut short, and I cannot fathom why team5 thought it was necessary.
So in conclusion: Paladin's cards really suck playing from behind and if you're going to give good stuff to the enemy, its worthwhile doing the same to the player. Turalyon is vastly more powerful as a 6 drop instead of 8, where he's pretty much ignored in standard. And W3 still holds up even after nearly 20 years.
I had Orgrim down to 1hp on turn 5
Again, one and done, except one.
The next time in I drew the nuts, held the board easily, and never looked back.
