Welcome to the site!
Been a while since I actually posted in the Discussion Thread. Got 3 ideas for what I want to do, all pretty similar (ignore any typos for now):
Not sure about this one. Too cheap and it's an aggro deck's delight, but a slower deck might not appreciate losing one of the cards they've been holding onto.
Edit: Also thought of a second iteration. Straight-up more card draw, but your opponent gets to see them at the start of their turn and shuffle one away.
Alright, it's time for the final competition of season 2. That means it's time to bring out the big guns!
Just like Circus Tamer here is bringing out the big Beasts. The audience wants to see those big, dangerous animals, and this card here will give them to you. You're able to curve it on turn 4 into a Beast on 5, or play it later and maybe play a big Beast in the same turn.
Not sure if they're fairey enough, but it's what I got so far:
Decided to post my ideas as fast as possible this week. I still wonder if Exotic Species is enough 'Faire' themed. Circus Trickster adds a Magic Trick from Rise of Shadows, is made for some thief theme, as well as just combo enabler. The spells you discover from Magic Trick will be not Mage but Rogue, I thought that may be a nice use of Discover interaction. Darkmoon Race is supposed to be kind of a challenge in which both players take part. Feedback coming soon
Also, I have been wondering for a long time - what are these gaps to fill while submitting made for? Are the cards we make somehow saved or something, and this way it is possible to filter them?
Ok
I've been wanting to get back to these since forever. Now a good of a time as any. Shame that the time I have some free time is the end of the season. Oh well.
Have some ideas for a knife throwing Rogue cards since forever. Need to pick which version:
Two ideas so far. Goblin Mime could be really crazy or completely worthless. It might be a Priest card as well, but I wouldn't want the other classes to miss out on the chaos it creates. Not sure if E.T.C. Groupie's effect is OP, but I like how it combines the Rush and the Menagerie archetypes. What do you think?
Feedback:
shatterstar1998: I prefer Knife Trick. It provides very situational AOE to Rogue without being too strong. At the same time, we know that Bladestorm is good and your card adds draw to the business. That said, I'm not sure if you couldn't lower the cost a bit. At 7 Mana you're pretty much stuck between killing only small stuff or milling your cards. Hit the Bullseye! is okay, but not as flavorful as Knife Trick. The art isn't fitting imho and "deal" needs an -s at the end.
ChickyChick: Flavor-wise, Exotic Species is the worst of the three. I also don't like the concept of Zombeasts very much. Circus Trickster and Darkmoon Race are cool ideas in my opinion. I think you should definitely go with a Darkmoon Race card, that's great flavor and an area of entertainment that is present on the WoW Faire but hasn't made it into the expansion (yet). That said, you've given the card a quite creative effect which didn't work out well in the last competition. Also, sidequests aren't a thing in Darkmoon Faire, so that might cost you points in general. Maybe you have another idea for a Darkmoon Race card?
Wailor: Like you've said yourself, there isn't much flavor yet. Grim Fortune is the better card for this competition imho, but it should be "At the start" instead of "the beginning".
Demon: It's certainly flavorful, but not very exciting. It's probably perfectly fine, but I'm worrying if it fits the current insane powerlevels. Summoning might be a way to do something about that, but then you face the problem of King Krush and Dinotamer Brann. Hmmm. Anyway, I'm curious to see if you have more luck than me with this great piece of art ;-)
linkblade: I actually prefer the first iteration. Loatheb might prove me wrong, but I think 5 Mana is the spot where cards like this become a big enough Tempo loss that aggro can't abuse them too much wothout consequence. Nice one!
Nirast: Quite a cool idea in general, but there are two issues I'd like to point out. One, Demon Hunter isn't known to be a buffing class as of now. Two, having Expendable Performers, Command the Illidari, Coordinated Strike and your card in standard at the same time seems a little too much.
DestroyerR: An interesting and creative idea for sure. You might make it a bit more expensive to avoid some shenanigans like cheating out two Leeroys in one turn.
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

First idea. Basically removes all enchantments and Silences
Make The Cow King an alternate Warrior skin plz
Out of the three I like second version at most. However, I think it may cost (4).
@linkblade91
I realy like both, but I think the first one is better because it's simple, even if a bit lower on flavour.
@Demonxz95
I think it's fine on balance side, but I'm not realy impressed by this.
@Wailor
I like Grim Fortune more, because Tamer's Whip doesn't look realy special to me.
@shatterstar91
I think I like Knife Trick more, but not sure about the balance, it is a better effect of Bladestorm, plus may draw you a lot of cards.
@anchorm4n
Pretty sure that E. T. C. Groupie is underpowered in comparison to Sorcerer Apprentice. I get that it may be comboed with E T C, but people would use Broomstick over this. Also, I think I like Goblin Mime more.
@DestroyerR
I like it, it's quite funny.
Ok
Some initial ideas.
@ChickyChick: I actually like Circus Trickster the most. She's simple and flavorful but I think she needs a name change since it's magicians that are known for magic trick. Something like Circus Magician.
@Nirast: Honestly I don't like any of these. The first two are not in flavor for Demon Hunter. The third one is just a rehash and worse version of Command the Illidari and Expendable Performers.
@linkblade91: I think your first version is alright. Aggro deck ran Azure Drake back in their day and this card like a version of that.
@Demonxz95: I love this card. Flavorful, simple but powerful.
@Wailor: Tamer's Whip is way too slow. Handbuff was never a good unless it was on Mech that can Magnetize themselves. Grim Fortune seems okay, but the artwork need a change since it's just the artwork for Dark Prophecy
@Anchorm4n: E.T.C. Groupie is really weak. You need immediately follow up or it will be worthless. I think it's fine at 3 mana. I personally don't like Goblin Mime mostly because I think it'll be either OP or completely worthless.
@DestroyerR: Seems flavorful but I think he deserve the full vanilla 4/5 stats.
@DavnanKillder: Opening Act is way too strong. It's a 1 mana 4/4 with Taunt and no drawback, as well as it can high roll you out of the game. And a 3 mana 4/4 with Taunt is already over vanilla stat. I think it should only summon a 3/4 with Taunt and discount to 2. Clown Fiesta is way too weak compare to Potion of Polymorph. Circus Puppeteer seems powerful but not sure if its flavor fit the faire theme.
People seems to like Knife Trick much more, so it's probably the entry I'll submit. I lowered its it cost to 6, as compare to Blizzard.
Damn this competition is moving SSSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWW. I figured people would be more pumped for this comp given that it's the season 2 finale.
But ah well, I guess I should give feedback then.
I do like Tamer's Whip. The connection is fairly loose (no pun intended), but it's obvious that it's there.
Grim Fortune is kinda cool. I view it kinda like a guaranteed Doomsayer, though I'm not sure the 3 extra mana justifies this as the card is otherwise slow. As Shatterstar pointed out, you are also using the same art as Dark Prophecy.
Even though Exotic Species does flavorfully make sense, most people are not fans of Zombeasts outside ofDeathstalker Rexxar, and I'd have to say that I'm in the same group (which is slightly hypocritical of me to say since I made a Zombeast card earlier this season, but what can you do?).
Circus Trickster is alright, but I've never been a huge fan of class cards that specifically generate a class card from another class except in very specific situations. It's otherwise not a bad card though.
Darkmoon Race is certainly flavorful, but it seems much more Epic than Common, and it's a Sidequest outside of Galakrond's Awakening (or a custom set) which some people, myself included, will dock points for.
Hey, good to see you back here!
I am in the same boat as everyone else in that I prefer Knife Trick over Hit the Bullseye! My only concern is that while Knife Trick may not be gamebreaking, some people will negatively vote cards that break class weaknesses regardless of how good the card is. This isn't really fair to you as the card is fine, but it is unfortunately the reality of these competitions. I do personally like the card though. One other thing is that the card is called Fan of Knives. Slight wording error there.
Goblin Mime is a really cool card. I tried to make a mime card myself with this art, and couldn't do it (because I tried to theme it around Silence), so I'm glad to see that you were able to.
I like that E.T.C Groupie provided Menagerie Warrior another tribe to play with, but the card is quite weak. It is understandable not wanting to make a card like Sorcerer's Apprentice, but Rush minions are quite a bit harder to chain than spells (or Demons in the case of Kanrethad Ebonlocke), so it can probably be 2 mana without any issues.
Well this card certainly is a destroyer, so your username checks out! (lmao)
I'm surprised we haven't seen a card like this in the game before, so I like it. I do actually like that it doesn't trigger Deathrattles because it makes it different than all the fan-made cards of this design that I've seen before.
I don't like that Opening Act can be a 1 mana 4/4 Taunt if you play it on turn 1. And even if you don't, a guaranteed 3 mana 4/4 Taunt is still pretty good.
Clown Fiesta is too weak. As Shatterstar pointed out, it's a worse Potion of Polymorph. I also don't like that it would exist in the same set as Rigged Faire Game since classes never get more than one Secret in any given set unless it's Classic, or if it's Rogue getting new Secrets for the first time in years.
Circus Puppeteer is alright. One weird thing though is the Deathrattle. Does the "give it back" part activate even if the stolen minion dies?
I finally found the artwork for the idea I had in mind. I'm afraid the final result is a bit to wordy, even if I'm quite satisfied with its balance and flavor.

Nirast
Besides that, I think the most interesting version is the last one, although it is incredibly overpriced. Compare it to Command the Illidari, which summons almost the max amount of Illidaris and costs 1 less. I think a fair price would be 3 or 4 at max.
linkblade91
Demonxz95
ChickyChick
Circus Trickster is a bit weird, if only because it's a Rogue card that gets you a specific Mage card. I get that Rogue is supposed to be the Burgle class, but getting one specific spell from another class feels a bit random.
Darkmoon Race is even less faire related than Exotic Species, and the fact that it's a Sidequest from an expansion that didn't feature them makes it a bit strange.
shatterstar1998
Like most people, I think Knife Trick is your better card, even if I find it a bit weird that it can be used as a Myra's Unstable Element if your enemy has no minions.
anchorm4n
Goblin Mime, on the other hand, is quite cool, although I'd make it a Priest card. The name could be better, too.
DestroyerR
DavnanKillder
Thanks for the feedback guys.
Made some changes to Circus Puppeteer and to Opening Act.
I have some doubts about the Puppeteer wording. The way it's now, If he's Sapped ir Silenced, you keep the stoled minion, but I don't know how to correct this, since Hearthstone don't have a "Leave the Battlefield" type of ability.
Changed the effect of Opening Act to be less strong and keep the flavour of a Opening tô a bigger show.
Maybe some feedback tomorrow.
Thanks for your feedback everybody! I'll go with the mime. I was wondering if it should be a legendary like Chameleos and I'm still debating if it should be Neutral or a Priest card. What do you think?
("Gazleau" is a pun made of Gazlowe and Marcel Marceau, the world's most famous mime. Another option would be "Bap, the Clown" since "Bip the Clown" was the role Marceau was famous for.)

@ DavnanKillder
Honestly your puppeteer is really interesting, a smart play on something that exist but with a caveat. You can simply change the deathrattle to read "If the minion is still alive, give it back", so the theme of the hold being broken if the controller dies is still here. In that case, you can safely increase the power level of this card since the only card they have to make it permanent is silence, maybe mind control up to 3 attack? That'll set it apart pretty neatly from the others like Cabal Shadow Priest and acolyte.
Dont have to worry about them keeping the minion. In many cases the only way priest have to do this is silence. 2 cards for 1 conditional mind control is still fair, considering that Cabal Acolyte is already doing this.
First card is based on card dealers and fancy shuffling, was thinking of doing a shell game kinda card but thought it would be too similar to Jandice. Kinda similar to Wailor's entry so maybe I won't go with it.
Second is based on the test your strength games and the plush bears are the prizes.
Couldn't find any decent art for either in a quick google search so art is missing for now.
Since I'm not sure anymore if my mime card isn't too close to Chameleos, I've been thinking about Demon's idea to give it a silence effect. After all, that's the major trait of a mime: they're mute/silent but exaggerate everything else. This is how I'd translate this into a HS cars:
Better or worse than the original idea?
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

I prefer the original idea.
Holy shit, this thread is so god damn slow. And so is the competition for that matter.
I guess second round of feedback
Felfire Juggler is a neat Outcast fixer. Although most Outcast cards are cheap, it can end up screwing up Altruis the Outcast, although that just means that you probably don't run those two cards in the same deck.
This version of Grim Fortune is looking good.
I don't think being able to "steal" minions with Puppeteer is necessarily a problem. Priest can already do this with Shadow Madness, Potion of Madness, or Cabal Acolyte, and just conventional mind control effects in general.
This version of Opening Act is definitely better.
I highly doubt that most people will get the mime reference without being told. That said, I make jokes all the time to amuse myself more so than I do for other people, so this is probably fine.
I am slightly worried about its ability to create huge damage out of giant boards though.
I appreciate the idea of Sideshow Shuffler, but I feel like its effect would probably be more frustrating than it is useful because it relies on a lot of randomness, and you can't take advantage of a good order of cards you have until it dies because playing a card will just shuffle the hand again.
Strongman's Hammer is extremely flavorful, but it's also very OP to me. Being able to get three 4/4 Taunt minions and a 3/3 weapon seems way strong for 4 mana.
Welp, seeing as my ideas haven't been received that well, I've decided to go in a totally different direction (ignore the typo):
Feedback:
anchorm4n: Latest rendition is a pretty interesting idea. Card is probably a bit overtuned, seeing as Glitter Moth never say any play. Yes, Bip also doubles the attack, but this doesn't change the fact it's an extremely win-more card that requires a board to not be garbage.
AnAngryBadger: No one wil ever play Shuffler, too random. The Hammer is more interesting. It feels a little weak right now, but I have no idea how to balance it.Maybe 3/3/2 that summons 3/3s?
DavnanKillder: Circus Puppeteer could probably cost 2. The wording could be streamlined to "Battlecry: Gain control of an enemy minion with 2 or less Attack. Deathrattle: Give it back." (You'd give nothing if the minion died). Opening Act is a very high-roll card, but I absolutely love the design. It's strong, but I don't think it's broken.
Wailor: I really like both. Juggler isn't that broken IMO, and Grim Fortune is just a guaranteed Doomsayer for double the cost. Really nice cards.
shatterstar1998: Really strong card, this could easily be Sprint + Flamestrike for just 6 mana. I know Sprint is pretty trash, and Flamstrike isn't that great either, but I think a combination of the two is busted. I like the flavor, but I think the name is a little subdued compared to the effect.
DestroyerR: Cool concept, but way too situational. Would see more play if they appeared at the start of your turn, or something.
ChickyChick: Circus Trickster would make more sense mechanically in Scholomance, not sure how you'd fit the art the though. I like the other two better, Zombeasts are always fun, and Darkmoon race is a unique twists on quests.
Demonxz95, linkblade91: Already gave my thoughs on Discord.
Nirast: Those cards suck! :p
Sorry for the lateness; here's my feedback:
AnAngryBadger - I like Sideshow Shuffler more than Strongarm's Hammer. The problem with the Hammer is that Plush Bears are kind of a Rogue thing, with the Ticket Master. Not a fan of shifting them to the Warrior, increasing their stats, and giving them Taunt; at that point you might as well make it something completely different, like a "4/4 Admirer" or something.
anchorm4n - I think I prefer the Chameleos-esque Priest version of Gazleau. The Silence + double version is a finisher card, basically, and will be played as such. At least it would be minion-related and not a filthy combo, so there is that, but I still don't think people will be happy with it *shrugs*
DavnanKillder - I think the text of the Puppeteer is a little janky, but I still prefer it over Opening Act. Just clean up the text - look to the other mind control cards for examples - and you're good to go.
Wailor - Felfire Juggler is definitely wordy, but it's also more interesting than Grim Fortune so I say "go for it".
shatterstar1998 - Remember that it's Fan of Knives, not "Fan of Knife". Beyond that, it should be okay? It's an AoE clear in Rogue; I'm surprised people are high on it given what I usually read is "argh but my class identity" lol :/
DestroyerR - Seems fine; playable, even. Could combo well with Rush or Charge minions who have used their attack already; theoretically, they would be able to attack again.
ChickyChick - Not a fan of Circus Trickster just straight-up giving a Mage spell to the Rogue, even if it's fairly low-impact. The two-player Sidequest is interesting, but not something I ever expect to happen, so…that leaves Exotic Species as my choice.
Demonxz95 - Already gave you my thoughts, but I'll reiterate that I think it's weird to abandon the Guardian Animals playstyle in the very next set vis-a-vie drawing the animals from your deck. I like the card; I just think the timing of it is off.
Nirast - I like the 5-mana Fiery Trapeze the most. The 4-mana is too strong as a board-wide buffer, and the 6-mana version is worse than Command the Illidari in all situations except the most desirable outcome, at which point it's just a slightly-cheaper but worse Expendable Performers.
Edit: I like the Darkmoon Bladegorger more, although the obvious name for this card is taken already lol (Sword Eater)
Thanks for all the feedback guys. Since Circus Puppeteer was well received, I will go with him. My only doubt is about power level. Made two versions, one epic (4/3/4 status and Shadow Madness over Potion of Madness effect) and a rare (2/2/3 status and Potion of Madness effect).

It's a bit sad indeed that there's so little going on here during the last competition of season 2. I will miss the weekly creative challenge and I hope the break won't be too long. Good luck everyone!

I'm going to say maybe make it 4 mana and it might be fine, although that still seems very strong to me.
Good luck to our finalists :)
Good luck guys and guyesses! I'm worried that two cards with the same art may have lower rates than they deserve tho
Ok
True, though I feel like one of them is going to win lol
Make The Cow King an alternate Warrior skin plz
Gj linkblade, deserved win
Ok
Hey alright, I won with a non-Paladin card for once lol :D
This is the end of Season 2. We'll be back at some point, but we don't have an exact date nailed down yet. We hope to have more Big Comp information by then, as well. Until then, hopefully we'll see you around; maybe give some other Fan Creation projects a look, like griffior's Death Knight class, shatterstar1998's Detective, or my Alraune class :)
Congrats linkblade! A really neat card.
I'm already sad I didn't wake up to a new prompt this morning :( Please don't make the break too long!
