I voted and commented on every card. Is there an achievement for this? I like earning useless internet points!
I don´t think there is an achievement for voting this time, tho I think there should be an achievement for the most downvoted comment, I nailed it :D
I think you probably want to be careful with that as it encourages the wrong sort of behavior.
I am totally looking forward to this mini-expansion! For the most part these cards are great!
I hoped this set would make me interested in this game again and it looks like just more of the same, more tools for libram pally when it was already a good deck on it's own, more cards for demon hunter aoe for shaman that demon hunter already had for 1 mana cheaper with no conditional effect to get the second aoe, it's a joke. "Aggro is everywhere let's just bring back freeze mage" with glacier racer and imprisoned phoenix. Guess i'll keep away and hope the next set is good for how i play the game.
This was the most unfun reveal for me by far. When the reveals started I wasn´t aware of it, went to sleep. Upon awakening there already was the whole mini-expansion revealed. It killed all the hype for me, not even excited to check all of the cards now :(
EDIT: I´m sorry that my post upset all of you, I didn´t mean to, I just wanted to share my initial feelings with you, that´s what comments are for, or so I thought. Card revealing period is one of the things I love about this game and for me it´s a big part of it, as it always was. You disagree, I get it. Just move on now, thank you :)
I do not understand that, why went you to sleep during card reveal
If I were you, I'd be seriously grappling with what this says about me and how easily my emotions are manipulated by advertising.
Feels like Hunter got the worst package by far. :/
From Wild POV, we have a buff to any kind of Aggro/Tempo Rogue, a possible buff to Odd Warrior (an attempt at a Tempo build?!?), and a buff to Darkglare Warlock (which, however, might be the trigger for a nerf of Standard cards). Oh and a possible buff to Shudderwock Shaman as well.
Not sure it's gonna help the meta to shift away from the current situation tho.
What is certain now is that Ancient Mysteries, Arcane Flakmage and Cloud Prince were designed and never nerfed mainly with Wild purposes (since Secret Mage will not be a serious thing in the meta for the time being, and those cards were never really impactful in Standard, especially Flakmage, while being obviously OP): with all due respect for professionals, a kid would've done a better job there.
I'm thinking that Kingsbane Rogue might have a boost, between the "give weapon and minion +2" and the secret that could potentially mess with your opponent's tools.
Amazing art and fantastic flavor! Some great ideas and some really solid but not necessarily OP cards. If it weren't formPaladin getting absolutely BUSTED cards I'd call this a home run!
Resurrect is most dominant in Priest. They have the best range in res cards with wide board options like Mass Resurrection or targeted like Eternal Servitude or preemptive with Grave Rune.
Paladin has a more selective resurrect style with Kangor's Endless Army being mech specific or reactive with [Hearthstone Card (Redemtion) Not Found] or Reborn from Making Mummies.
Rally! is a nice mix. Selective but still a wide board (at least early game). Seems very strong with good early deathrattle minions.
Don't forget Anyfin Can Happen.
A+ for set flavour. The play on the “Wacky Races” cartoon is very nostalgic, and the trailer was short but sweet.
The set continues with the fun and quirky play style brought back to the game with MDF, and encourages interesting mechanics and quirks instead of the more boring dimensions of “deal X damage”, which is great. The cards all compliment existing strategies perfectly and have the potential to bring some new decks to the meta.
for a mini-set that is specifically designed to add ‘fun’ to a stale meta, this will do exactly that, but without being necessarily overpowered.
My only gripe is that despite Mage, Priest and Warlock being lower on the meta list at the moment, they are getting yet another legendary (rouge too) when they already have the Reno hero/Galakrond package (all-be-it for only another couple of months). I would have liked the rarity distribution to lend in another class’ favour.
I decided to do a little analysis of whether it made sense to spend 2000g on 20 card packs instead of the bundle. What I found is that the bundle is absolutely a better deal. Here are the details:
Darkmoon Races contains:
Common: 16
Rare: 14
Epic: 1
Legendary: 4
Total DE value: 2240 dust
20 card packs: 2054.2 dust on average
Opening 20 DM Faire card packs would yield, on average:
70.14 commons
1.49 golden commons
21.51 rares
1.33 golden rares
4.19 epics
0.25 golden epics
1 legendary
0.09 golden legendaries
If you already have all of the existing commons and rares:
You would keep 32 commons and disenchant the rest for 265.2 dust
You would keep your 23 rares
You would keep your 4 epics
You would keep you 1 legendary
So you would have 2 more epics, 3 fewer legendaries, 5 fewer rares, and 265 more dust than if you bought the bundle
If you also already have all of the epics (or expect to get them eventually), you would also disenchant the ~2 extra epics you get from packs, landing you with 3 fewer legendaries, 5 fewer rares, and 584 more dust on average.
Now, assuming you keep buying card packs after those 20, you will get all of the rares in your next 4-5 card packs, so I’ll do a quick approximation of the difference between buying the bundle and 5 packs vs. 25 packs, assuming that you currently have all of the commons and rares:
In either case you end up having all of the commons and rares, and one additional random epic (on average), plus about a 25% chance at another legendary.
In the bundle case, you will have extra rares to disenchant, for an average of 140.8 dust.
In the 25 pack case you have a 56.25% chance of having an extra rare, which means you can probably disenchant the one golden rare you got in those 25 packs for 100 dust.
So, after spending your 2000g and then buying 5-6 more packs, going for packs instead of the bundle would get you:
2 more epics
3 fewer legendaries
225 more dust
Now consider that if you buy the bundle and you don’t like 3 of the legendaries you can disenchant them and craft 3 epics of your choice. The bundle is clearly the better option. Buy it before you open any Darkmoon Faire card packs after Darkmoon Races releases!
Correction, total dust value is 2520
(16x2x5)+(14x2x20)+(1x2x100)+(4x400)
As wild player, meh. Not worth it. Just will open 5 packs for commons and rares in feb.
no legendary for warrior en palla wtf
I see a Murloc. I AM EXCITED!
