Meh.
Needs tons of suport to see play in Standard, but can see play in wild.
By The Holy Light!
There's very much a weird "10" thing going on with Mage. Raid the Sky Temple requires you to cast 10 spells, then you get a Hero Power. Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron casts 10 spells, and now this card deals 10 damage. I reckon this is supposed to be a callback to Timepiece of Horror, one of the "powerful artifacts" from the original LoE set.
pretty unimpressive for a highlander requirement.
edit: also there's a 0% chance that's the actual card art.
worst community ever
This is pretty meh. Not worth the deck restriction, unless Mage is getting some more highlander support.
Why does mage always get the worst class exclusive highlander cards?
"always" it only happened once before.
and Krul the Unshackled wasn't even a consideration in reno warlock.
No deck restrictions, weaker stats, same effect most of the time....
Just an 'alright' card in reno mage, nothing more.

I can't find words to describe how disappointed I was after seing Reno the Relicologist. Like others have said, the reward is not good enough for the highlander requirement. It's also very boring for a (class specific) legendary, I would say. I guess we have to wait, until we see the rest of the SOU set, in order to determine how good highlander decks would be in standard. And I don't want to think about this being included in wild. But maybe, just maybe Reno Mage would be desperate enough to add a 6-mana Volcano that deals 10 damage to the enemy board just because the class doesn't possess priest's and warlock's amazing AoEs.
Did you relise Reno's Card says "on all enemy minion", so you can't even hit face with itInvalid Deck ID
Meteorologist hits face. That's a huge difference. Knowing that it's going to deal exactly 10 damage to minions is a huge difference, when meteorologist can come up one damage short by hitting fac far too often.
Still 100% of the time :p
But yeah kinda forgot about Krul
This looks pretty goshdarn meh compared to Kazakus or old Reno. I suppose you run it in wild if you're already playing highlander mage but I doubt this by itself is enough to warrant a highlander deck in standard.
I doubt that it's wortg the buildaround, but I think this card is pretty underrated. It's very similar to Dyn-o-matic, which was so thought to be weak until it was actually played. 10 damage is a lot on turn 6, and the statline is good at combating whatever is left. Will be insane in wild Reno mage.
This card is... okay? There must be something else. We can't use spell damage with this but it is a battlecry. I guess it would be a decent board clear with old Brann Bronzebeard. Probably not at all what people were hoping for either way.

Why is everyone hating on it? It's awesome!
Think about it, a Dyn-o-matic that costs 1 mana more but deals twice the damage and does deal damage to mechs.
Very good card for Reno Mage.
Because in standard building a highlander deck is a huge cost. Old Reno and kazakus had effects that could pretty much steal the game from the opponent whereas this just seems... OK? It's terribly lackluster as a proactive threat and as a reactive play it's easy to imagine situations where not even 10 damage deals with an enemy board,FE Conj. + Mountain Giant.
I'm pretty disappointed with Reno. I don't consider this a legendary effect even if it is slightly better than Meteorologist. I guess I will try this in a Highlander C'thun wild deck for the memes. Creativity: 2/10
Auto include in wild reno decks (not that those are that good anymore), needs lots of support in standard.
Bruh, for 1 mana more you get a Dyn-o-matic that triggers twice with +1/+2.
Will need to see if Highlander is good enough to even bother playing though
This ain't no place for a hero
But do you know that any highlander deck will be countered by Bomb warrior, right? Making highlander decks in this meta makes no sense
What's the most powerful card in Hearthstone?
A credit card.
I like this card. As others said Dyn-o-matic effect x2 or Meteorologist that can't go face. I think that makes it good enough. Just like with the other heroic legends of the set it's not a build around. However this card seems like it would go into a highlander mage. So wild is set but standard needs a good build around for these decks to come together.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
Battlecry: choose and cast a spell between Polymorph Flamestrike Greater Arcane Missiles.
That would have been acceptable, and more creative than this thing.
Anyway, i'm fairly sure there will be one more Highlander card in the set. A Neutral one, and good enough to justify Highlander decks in Standard.
If that happens, I bet the character will be Harrison Jones.
Could be made playable by adding a single word: "Lifesteal" (even if it cost him some stats).
Hot trash for standard based on the current known card pool though.
I don't think this can be evaluated before seeing the last highlander card. In a vacuum it seems weak, but I won't write it off quite yet.
^ Basically this.
Yesterday, while I was writing my post on this thread, I also compared Reno to Dyn-o-matic and Omega Devastator and, oh boy, words can't describe how weak he is compared to the aforementioned minions. The conditions of those mechs can be met with ease, they gain extra synergy with Dr. Boom, Mad Genius and can be discovered with things like Omega Assembly and Delivery Drone. Reno could admittedly inflict more damage to enemy minions and can be played prior to turn 10, but in the context of the highlander requirement he is terribly lackluster like you said. This concerns standard; things might be different in wild.
I was realy hoping for a better Effect but i guess it´s ok - sure not enough to build a Highlander Deck for this but maybe they will add other good Highlander Cards and mabye then this will be good

I think this is the first time in Hearthstone history that a card is received so poorly and with such a letdown by part of the majority of the fanbase... And the worst is that that feeling is absolutely understandable...
Personally speaking, I was looking forward to something like:
Volcano was one of my favorite cards designwise in all of Hearthstone. And even though the effect Reno the Relicologist provides is weaker than Volcano on sheer power, it is still a decent effect. Perhaps not decent enough for a standard deck, but another AoE for Wild that can count as a big minion removal, with the added fact that is comes attached to a 4/6 minion makes this card a really wlcome addition to the Wild Mage Highlander arsenal. And it's way better than Inkmaster Solia.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906

Is it? I still remember when Purify was revealed. No doubt people are disappointed with this Reno, and probably the LoE cycle as whole, but I'm pretty sure people have been more outraged at a newly revealed card.
Another thing that is wonky about this card is that it occupies the same mana cost as Blizzard. Mage isn't thirsty for AOE.
It's a much better card than Blizzard, but you can just play 2 Blizzards and not gimp your entire deck.
There's 1 more highlander card to be revealed. Maybe, if it's at the level of Kazakus or something, it can tie all of this together.
Maybe i'll play Reno Mage in wild, one of my fav decks of all times.
