Alec Dawson has shared more insight into the world of card unnerfs in another series of tweets. With today's update on the Neutral cards that are being reverted to their previous glory, we've got a full look at what fun is going to be available in wild.
- Nerf reverts are taking place in Patch 20.0 which is live later this month.
- The reverts will come shortly before the expansion launches. Huge meta swing!
- Some cards were not fully reverted but were instead "soft" reverted. This is because these cards may come back to Standard in the future.
- Cards like Level Up!, which would only add strength to archetypes already doing well are not being unnerfed.
Looking for the list of class nerf reverts? Here they all are!
Read on for all the newly announced changes. If you're looking for the new core set that is coming this year, head on over to our Core Set 2021 guide. If you are interested in the new expansion, you can find the currently revealed cards in our Forged in the Barrens guide.

Besides Undertaker & Bad Luck Albatross, I like these
And I don't play Highlander, I play aggressive decks.
I love it
I’m happy about Saronite Chain Gang, but some of these reversions have me a little nervous. Original Undertaker seems way too easy to snowball with a wide range of low-cost deathrattles, including Leper Gnome. I hope that Team5 is using this round of reversions to re-assess the strength of these cards in the current Wild landscape, and is ready to intervene if any card gets out-of-hand.
Of all these changes, only Leper Gnome, Undertaker, and Arcane Golem springs to mind as perhaps a tad too far, even in wild, where hyper aggro is legit.
Leper gnome is small and unassuming, but if unremoved on turn 1, its basically going to deal 4 damage to your face for 1 mana. Its a nice buff for an odd hunter in wild, along side Undertaker, perhaps one of the best 1 drop in its time (and I'm not so sure its less powerful now).
Arcane Golem, now that's something that has been forgotten ever since they removed charge from it. Its hard to believe that back in the day this card used to be just about in every aggro deck, and I still believe that with this un-nerf its going to do so again, at least until team5 nerfs it back.
Undertaker wont be issue in wild at all, it s way easier to handle nowdyas then bakc then.
Leper gnome possibly coulld ad arcane golem is 100 % a mistake, Albatros is 100% msitake aswell.
Arcane golem back to 2014 also on wild? Werid but okay...
Clears throat B R I N G O U T Y O U R D E A D
the only buffs I dislike are Alex and golem. I feel like Highlander strategies are the most boring, bland, and overall reliable decks. I am going to dislike running into so many. The golem buff is whatever to me. Wolfrider didn't see much play so I doubt that +1 attack with a huge drawback will either. I do expect to see it a lot, but drop off once the meta settles.
lmao. The whole downside to Highlander decks is they are less reliable than other decks. You literally have half the likelihood of drawing any particular card. You can think they are bland and boring (though I would argue having twice the variety of a normal decks makes this ridiculous too), but they are objectively not the "most reliable decks".
I disagree. I do agree that the intended weakness of highlander decks is that they are supposed to be less reliable than normal decks, but the problem is that it doesn't matter when there are multiple cards that do similar things. Zephyrs itself being one of the strongest individual cards that can give you the perfect card when you need it also helps to nullify this issue.
Look at this decklist. According to Tempostorm, it is a tier 2 highlander warlock deck. The deck isn't hurting from consistency issues at all.
Edit: I was having issues with the decklist so I added the link here:

This is bad and lazy balancing, sure those cards were over nerfed in the past, but there was a reason for that, just reverting the nerfs is bad for the game, for example undertaker.. Does anyone wants to play against that? Really? At least make it a 1/1.. People will just complain again for ages.. And arcane golem could at least be a 4/1 it deserved the nerf bat. Just that they gone too far back then and deleted those cards.
Undertaker was good in like 2014. The game's power level has changed drastically at this point. Arcane Golem however might be relevant even with the power creeps.
Even then, the play pattern is very toxic, a 1 drop that scales out of control really early, sure there are more broken stuff in the game but it's still not a good card to want people to play it.
I doubt people who will lose to it anyway will enjoy it a lot.
and Arcane Golem? yeah just give odd DH more burst.
those reverts seem cute on paper but then they will just make the wild meta even more aggressive.
Tbh Arcane Golem has a huge disadvantage against any control deck so imo it's fine
Glad the powerful DQA will be back!
Don't know why you're downvoted. Especially in Wild, playing a 9 mana 8/8 turn 9 without anything else can be game losing (talking about its current state where Dragons cost 1).
She's really not that powerful. In the current wild meta games never even make it to turn 9.
Renolock has enough big demons to cheat out already, and they're mostly trying to get tickatus out as fast as possible nowadays anyway.
Reno priest only gets slowed by her because it's one more card you'll have to get through after you use Polkelt before you get to the cards you want.
So the only deck I'd imagine that would really want her is reno mage (LPG variant of course).
Other than that I don't see many decks adopting her, even after the buff.
Unnerfing Arcane Golem is not a great idea. It probably will be played in every aggro deck. And wild aggro decks definitely do not need more reach.
I"m getting all the lovely feels about these unnerfs!
Changes i like:
Undertaker Strong card back then, but i don't think it will be that oppresive today.
Saronite Chain Gang: "How long can this go on?" Well it took long enough, but it's finally reverted. Shudderwock Shaman can now use it instead of Doppelgangster. Saronite Chain Gang also really helps the decks ability to survive the early game.
Dragonqueen Alexstrasza: Great change, and not THAT many highlander decks in wild even used her before. Now they certainly can for a big stat dump, and it wouldn't even be that broken. Why? Because the Wild meta is full of boring uninteractive decks like Secret Mage, Raza Priest and ODD Paladin that often win the game before turn 9.
Bad Luck Albatross: Great buff, might be a really good inclusion for a lot of decks against Raza Priest. Oh and it might be decent against Secret mage, because they don't want to draw 1/1s.
Change i dislike: Archivist Elysiana: WOW. Just wow.. She got MURDERED by this change. The only deck in wild that ever used her was ODD Warrior, and now they can't use her anymore. Okay now she MIGHT be usable in MAYBE a few other control decks, and she can be bounced and replayed... BUT if she doesn't find a new home, then they liturally removed her from the only deck she was playable in.. This change just seems like an HUGE gamble, considering she requires a REALLY strong control deck, while the Wild meta is hyper aggro with lots of uninteractive decks like Secret Mage and Highlander Priest. I REALLY like Archivist Elysiana and wish i could play her more, but this change feels way too risky to me. I sincerely hope that FitB gives us some more tools for wild control decks.
