This card isn't bad.
Freeze Mage as an archetype is, however, so I doubt this will do anything other than give you a brain hemmorhage when Spell Mage decides to randomly discover the fucker alongside Varden.
I wish there was a way to play Secret Freeze Mage, but if you've looked at the cardpool it just doesn't look good.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Not surprising we got 2 more Freeze related cards after seeing Frostweave Dungeoneer. This is weakest out of the three in my opinion. Not even sure this will make the cut if a Freeze deck will pop up. In Standard this might be necessary though, as you do need a way to bring your opponent to 0, and only freezing your oponnent won't get you there.
Arena > Wild > Standard
This is a super-aggressive card that only pays off if you run effects that are the opposite of aggressive. In a hypothetical freeze aggro deck, or maybe secret mage with a freeze package, you run into the problem that you have to run some pretty poor cards to get your payoffs. I think just going the traditional route will work a lot better.
This post is discussing the wild format.
Varden Dawngrasp or Cone of Cold into Floecasters into Shattering Blast seems interesting. Floecaster is also pretty good as long as you slot 2x Cone of Cold into your deck. And considering your playing Floecaster you might as well play Varden Dawngrasp as well.
However i don't think it will be good enough to rival Spell Mage. The only deck that does play minions in mage right now (As far as i know) is Hero Power Mage, which probably likes using Floecaster. So at least it has a home in standard.
In wild i don't think it sees play. It seems good, but the best mage decks (APM Mage and Secret Mage don't include this card. Well as long as there is no "after your hero got attacked by a minion, freeze all enemy minions" secret printed it won't see play in Secret Mage anyways.
This card seems really good despite everything. It's easy to reduce it to 0 mana, and cards that have the same kind of mechanic (Kabal Crystal Runner, Pretty much every giant.) have almost always been very strong. Floecaster seems solid right now in standard, but once freeze mage gets any more support it might lead to some frustrating experiences.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
It's just ok. We need some pretty strong motivation to put any minions at all into a Mage deck right now.

This is a very good card. I'm not a fan of all these frost mage cards, but Blizzard hitting and freezing three+ minions into dropping two of these seems strong.
If Frost Nova was in standard, this would get played a lot. But even with Flurry (Rank 1) this could be a nice tempo play turn 5.
Basically what a tempo mage needs. You stall the board, play a big minion for free in a kind of tempo swing.
There's plenty of options to get this out on the cheap. Granted its really dependent on your opponent playing lots of minions, but if they are not then generally you'll be winning anyway.
Besides which. 0 cost minions will always dominate the meta at some point. I'm sticking to that mantra by calling this a day 1 broken card.
I'm getting the feeling Blizzard is trying to add more freeze support to Mage. All you need is 3 frozen minions to reduce the cost of this to 0, and all that will take is one Cone of Cold. Assuming they all have more than 1 health left.
Very nice addition for my freeze Mage. Not sure tough if i will build a Freeze Mage list that will include Hero Power Stuff with Mordresh or Freeze Mage with C'thun etc.
