Am I the only one that gets an error while attempting to start a game?
No, you are not. have not been able to start a tavern brawl also. keep getting an error message.
I had the same issue. Closing the game completely and relaunching did the trick.
Won with the deck below. Reduced cost on Illidari Inquisitor is fun stuff! I was paired against a warlock with some odd choices in their deck, though. Seems like a brawl that isn't going to go many rounds.
I hope after Mercenaries is released, they can turn some focus back to Tavern Brawls. It's easily my most played mode, and it hurts to see it so abandoned.

Another Boring brawl with Broken decks then.
It has scope for a lot more variety than most build-your-own-deck brawls. From what I saw in 15+ games, all of combo, value, and big-minion decks can work. So unless you only like aggro, there's probably something you enjoy that will work fine.
I disagree that it's boring, can be broken yes but it is better and more engaging than any randamonium brawl in my opinion
