My brain as I was reading the card text: "Why is this a Shaman card? ... Oh no."
Well, at least we're getting Rustrot Viper.
I like this card. I hope they aren't pushing token shaman though. Tired of token decks.
Party Up! cries in a corner.
Why? Chances are, the adventurers have better abilities :) But less, or no potential for highroll, yeah.
The highroll potential (see Jandice Barov) will pretty much always guarantee at least a couple of good outcomes - let's do the math:
Good outcomes - Greybough, Twilight Runner, The Rat King, Trampling Rhino, Teacher's Pet, Aegwynn, the Guardian, Mozaki, Master Duelist, Carousel Gryphon, Aldor Truthseeker, Priest of An'she, Fortune Teller, High Abbess Alura (debatable, but let's include her in this category), Earth Elemental, Inara Stormcrash, Ras Frostwhisper,Totem Goliath, Void Drinker, Envoy Rustwix, Stonemaul Anchorman,Mor'shan Elite, Tent Trasher, Doctor Krastinov, Scrap Golem, Burning Blade Acolyte, Gold Road Grunt, Barrens Blacksmith, Taelan Fordring, Gurubashi Berserker, Overlord Runthak, Stranglethorn Tiger, Razormane Raider, Moonfang, Fleethoof Pearltusk, Ogremancer, Lake Thresher, Steward of Scrolls, Headmaster Kel'Thuzad, Ruststeed Raider, Al'ar.
Bad outcomes - Soulshard Lapidary, Zai, the Incredible, Menagerie Warden, Druid of the Claw, Barak Kodobane, Blood Herald (even though getting it as a 2/2 would actually be a buff lol), Ethereal Conjurer, Firework Elemental, Keywarden Ivory, Cannonmaster Smythe, Lothraxion the Redeemed, Darkbishop Benedictus, Temple Enforcer, Dark Inquisitor Xanesh, Lilypad Lurker, Mistrunner,Shattered Rumbler, Felsoul Jailer, Neeru Fireblade, Shieldmaiden, Ringmaster Whatley, Faceless Manipulator, Shadow Hunter Vol'jin, Derailed Coaster, Optimistic Ogre, Vectus, Lorekeeper Polkelt, Waste Warden.
Even though the chance of getting vanilla 2/2s is pretty relevant, the good outcomes should make up for it most of the times. Moreover, if your goal is to use those 5-drops for a Boggspine Knuckles... well... it doesn't really matter, does it?
Revolve is still in standard too
I like that meme
The power-creep is real
This is an interesting card, but I cannot help but feel like RNG in Hearthstone has become too prevelant and this card is not even the worst offender. Please do not get me wrong, the other extreme of having 0 RNG means certain matchups are pretty much decided before the game starts and also boring, but there seems to be a lot of slot machine behavior in Hearthstone. I know this has been in the game since it was introduced back in 2014, but it suddenly struck me today. Perhaps this was an eye opener or tipping point for me personally.
🤔
EDIT: I can only assume this personal opinion post of mine attracted a few slot machine lovers. Thanks for the attention (downvotes) I guess.
The equalising of the stats mean this is way fairer than a lot of "random" cards. Compare it to Jandice Barov, for example. Two full-stat 5-drops and a 2/1, but those 5-drops can be anything from 1/1 (Blood Herald) to 7/8 (Earth Elemental).
But Blood Herald summoned by this will have 2/2!
Fair would it would be if there is no Revolve
Boggspine Knuckles also still in standard
Yeah, I know and agree. This card by itself is probably fine and balanced.
Still, this is yet again another (newly revealed) RNG card which triggered a feelsbad reaction.
This might not even be the best place to have this broader RNG discussion and probably already took place many many times before by other HS community members.
Well, since Rustrot Viper is conveniently one of the better cards of this expansion, is there any hope we'll see Boggspine Knuckles on 5 into this thing?
On its own it has certainly some utility. Getting taunts is likely to be easier than it looks, but what you really want is stuff like Teacher's Pet, Twilight Runner, Burning Blade Acolyte, Taelan Fordring or other deathrattle like minions.
Outside of these there's always turn 7 Tiny Toys into Revolve. Wouldnt that be a pretty sight?
Interesting design, but I wish they would just stop printing evolve support forever
Aw shucks. I really wanna see Paladin Questline when I saw those annoy-atron
Made my day.
Turn 5 boggspine + turn 6 this hmm..
