[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (Hearthstone Riddles)

Welcome to the modern thread of The Card Treasure Hunt. This is a game where you try to guess which Hearthstone card fits the current riddle. When it is solved the winner then comes up with the next one. Feel free to employ poetry, simple questions, modified song lyrics, or anything else your imagination desires.

If you have seen this thread and have always wanted to play I invite you to try- it's a fun distraction to check your phone and look the riddle over. Think it through while you're doing something boring like work or waiting in line : D

There are not many rules aside from not making too many guesses at a time (two at a time is the polite limit). Asking questions to the riddle is advisable if stumped. If it is your turn to make a riddle it is asked that you check in at least a couple times a day to verify guesses; if you are not able to you are allowed to concede the next riddle to the public.

Besides the leader board below, I also compile the winners of every month. Think of it as Standard for the game. Stick around and try to be the winner for the month!

Very appropriately, the reigning champion of the leader board, anchorm4n will start us off! Special thanks to R and madcat for helping tally and make it simple to transfer the leader board as well as to DestroyerR for resurrecting such an enjoyable game at OoC.

RESULTS OF JULY, 2021

Looks like we have another tie in just the three times the monthlies have been in effect. When this occurs, the winner is decided by the first to solve a riddle when all who are tied are able.

Although I'm unique, I have three sisters;

One is non-collectible, I am the one, cheapest.

One can think that I am weak, but I am flexible,

Purify your way to win or new toy for your table.

I think we're going to need a hint on that one, it's a bit vague

Oh, I didn't think it was a hard one. I just thought that everyone is busy with openning packs and experiencing new expansion.

So here it is, There are three cards that has the same word on its name.

All of them are cards from same class, 2 are collectibles, one is not, You are looking for a collectible one.

Searching by the name is waste of time. It's easier to find one of the cards and then look for others, but I can't find any of them. Not enough info about the first two. The third, which is "Purify your way to win or new toy for your table", does it deal damage and / or summon a minion?

Yeah it is waste of time because there are more than 3 cards that has the same word on the card name but those extras can't be a "sister".

It is time to give the answer i guess;

Although I'm unique, I have three sisters;   - It is unique because there was no "Shard" cards in Hearthstone before and there are 3 shards in latest expansion. This line gives 2 hints that "This is a card from latest expansion." and "There are 3 cards with same theme."

One is non-collectible, I am the one, cheapest.  - This line also gives 2 hints, one of them is Purified Shard which is non-collectible and 2nd hint is that The card you should look for has the lowest mana cost which is Shard of the Naaru. 3rd sister would be Void Shard.

One can think that I am weak, but I am flexible,  - You could think that Shard of the Naaru is weak because it is a tech card that it can be useless in some match-ups like against No-minion Mage for example, but it is flexible because it has Tradeable keyword which makes it flexible like Choose One cards.

Purify your way to win or new toy for your table.  - Purify gives the hint of "Silencing all enemy minions" to open your way to win by going face, and The new toy of your table is a new card that you can draw with Tradeable. Since both mechanic costs one mana it is like a choose one card. So the "or" there refers to "one or another" not 2 mehcanics at the same time.

So the card was Shard of the Naaru.

Anyone can be next since there is no winner i guess.

it past almost 3 days and it was killing the thread. Sorry for that.

Well, the problem is not in the riddle, but in the activity.

No worries, but it's pretty normal how a riddle can take even a week to solve. There's been times I've had to give like 8 clues and ppl still don't get it. Good riddle anyway.

Yes it is. Eydis Darkbane - HATES being called "the wonder twins". Fjola Lightbane - LOVES being called "the wonder twins".

Nope. The card is inspired by this week's Tavern Brawl.

"I am a cat as stealthy flower of the follower" - Aya Blackpaw (has Sherazin, Corpse Flower's stats)

R is a little closer, but "like a cat" is actually not a cat (probably, the art isn't clear though it definitely has no beast tribe), though stats do come into it.

On the right track, but no. Biteweed isn't catlike in any way I can think of. And as is frequently the case for my riddles, the catlike card is old, like really old.

And the reversal in the last line is meaningful.

And to clarify further, the catlike card *is* a beast, but the answer card is not, but shares some features and reverses others in a way.

The only card you guys have guessed that meets the first two lines is The Beast Within. This is actually really easy, just think over what the first line could be referring to and you'll know where to look

Bonus hint: it's a big effect card 

I would guess it as Unseal the Vault at the first hour that you asked the riddle and i abandoned just because it says Twelve instead of Twenty.

Now all of your tips points out Unseal the Vault and i have been confused.

Great thinking anchorm4n! The only other idea I have could be Zul'jin, with summoning six companions through 2x Call of the Wild, giving them deathrattles to dump six more in the hand with Infest (does that even count?), and for "wild arrows" throw in a couple of Baited Arrows which might even summon Devilsaurs if they hit Huffer. If Infest doesn't work maybe 2x Master's Call if we have the spare beasts?

To be clear, out of all of the stuff I've been throwing around Zul'jin is the guess.

Edit: You can get to 12 beasts on board and hand with 2x Call of the Wild, 2x Infest, 2x Baited Arrow overkilling both Huffers to summon two Devilsaurs and dumping 4 beasts in hand. So Anduin can't Plague of Death to kill the deathrattles.

This is an updated leaderboard with answers from this thread (I assumed the leaderboard hasn't been updated until now).

And here are the scores for August, assuming that August includes everything in the new thread until last Tuesday. Anchorm4n has three or four, depending on whether a question counts for a month based on the date of the question or the answer. So depending on that ruling either R wins the month outright or is tied with anchorm4n. Otherwise for display purposes I broke ties by earliest date of the final answer (so Almaniarra beat out me). For September, so far I have a point and anchorm4n may have a point depending on how we count his most recent answer.

Edit: Fixed table display to something less comical and more readable.
