If you've already completed Illidan's Book of Heroes chapter, you might have noticed a rather strange pop-up screen after winning the last fight. For those who are yet to dive into it, we're talking about what you can see in the picture below.
Kerfluffle, Hearthstone Community Manager, published a post in Blizzard's forums uncovering the mystery. This pop-up is supposed to reward you with a Golden Standard Pack. Luckily, this will be retroactive so players that login to the game this week after the game patches with an update will receive their completion credit and won't miss out on the pack.
Quote From Kerfluffle Separately, we’re aware of an issue where a pop up appears with placeholder text after finishing all Book of Heroes installments. We’ll be fixing this pop up in a patch next week and will be issuing a Golden Standard card pack to all players who completed Book of Heroes, which will be the reward for completing this content moving forward.
That does it for Hearthstone's Book of Heroes which made its debut just over 11 months ago. If Blizzard were to extend it or start a new book, which characters would you like to play the stories of? What did you think of Book of Heroes overall? Let us know in the comments below.

I actually played my 1st one yesterday (Rexxar), even being here since Beta non-stop! Single player content just doesn't interest me that much.
However, it was a pleasant surprise. The narrative is cool, there's an interesting use of game mechanics. I noticed there was a mix of official Warcraft lore with invented stuff, for ex. Rexxar is from Draenor, he joins the Horde, helps Thrall, fights Azeroth's wars (looks like official canon) but then at the end he goes back to Draenor to help his clan deal with stuff. So it rounds up a story quite well, just don't take it as gospel.
Curious to check the other ones, specially now with this beautiful reward!
Hope you guys are ready for Book of Heroes, Chapter 2!
.....please dear god don't let there be a chapter 2.
There is already a Chapter 2. It's called "Book of Mercenaries".
Smaller chunks of story, like Book of Mercenaries. Lore explanations are the only way after play through I know what the hell is going on.
I would love to have a "race book" explaining every race's story in warcraft. Even if it is a fantasy story. A murloc chapter, naga, elemental one, etc
You forgot to mention dragon chapter
I hope Devs are reading this. It's an awesome idea!!
I'd like to see something like Book of Azeroth, chapters would reward you a Standard or Wild pack, depending on your choice, and would tell a story of Azeroth heroes and villains alike, like Sylvanas, Arthas, etc. I think it would be a neat idea
I'd love it if they had a Wild pack as rewards or even to buy in the shop.
Would be great for filling in a few gaps and I'd probably actually look at what rares and commons I got when opening :)
edit: there is? Gold spending time!!!!!!
Just to give a bit more info, with the introduction of the Core set, Blizzard added two pack types in the Shop:
- Standard packs (red cover) which appear last in the section entitled "Standard Packs and Cards".
- Wild packs (red cover with vines) which appear first in the section entitled "Other Packs". This section is just before all the wild sets separated by year.
There are and they even have the 10 pack legendary. I bought a couple and got that MSoG 1/1 Legendary "DR: deal the damage of this minion to enemy minions". The odds of getting a good legendary in wild are pretty low.
Sergeant Sally is surprisingly alright, actually. She was used in several competitive handbuff decks, back in the day. Seeing as Handbuff Paladin is tops in Wild, maybe you could try slotting her in?
Power Overwhelming, Inner Rage, a buff and Provoke or Hysteria, giving her Lifesteal, the resummon Paladin HP in Duels, Shaman's resurrect cards - there are plenty of other fun synergies! But maybe I have a soft spot for a weird old card, heh.
Can confirm that odds...
Got Princess Huhuran myself....
Me too just now :)
They do have Wild packs to buy in the shop?
Yeah, but the weird thing is that initially they both appeared in the "Standard" section of the pack store, and the Wild packs aren't labeled as being Wild specific. The only indication was the vines and the pack contents description after you click on the pack where it states it contains "5 Wild Hearthstone Cards".
Because they didn't properly label them as Wild without clicking on the pack, and the initial placement in the store, some people may not have been aware that they existed. Since launch they have been moved to the "Other Packs" section next to Classic packs so it's a little clearer.
Yep as you can tell I didn't know.
The shop is so full of new things all the time to be honest I never go to it except to buy latest expac packs.
