Wait is that Tamsin but as a lich?
oh hell yeah it is. girlboss
This trailer is super hype, i love the music! This really gave me some Uldum vibes, which is great. (Uldum is probably my favorite expansion reveal music.) Oh and the animations keep getting better with each reveal! The production has always been quite good, but it has been drasticly improving recently! It's amazing!
Here some speculation on some of the interesting things i saw in the trailer:
Varden Dawngrasp mainly uses arcane magic in the trailer, which might hint towards a lot of arcane spell school stuff in mage, which would make a lot sense. After all, barrens mini set had Freeze mage and Stormwind had Fire Mage.
Xyrella i think casted some kind of ress spell? Yay everyone's "favorite" archetype! (Tbh at this point i would welcome Ress priest with open arms, as long as it manages to slow down the meta.) but hey maybe we get a "holy spell" priest, kinda like Shadow Priest.
Bru'kan summoned the ice lord, but the ice lord isn't a shaman legendary if the leaked legendary is true. So either the ice lord has something to do with Bru'kans hero card, or its a neutral legendary.
We do see Kurtras cast Eye Beam but that doesn't really hint towards anything. (At most fell DH support, but thats a big stretch.)
And i think i saw Kurtras fight a lich who looks a lot like Tamsin? And honestly that might make a lot of sense. Think about it: In BoM Kurtras states that:"To summon Anetheron would require power to rival that of the lich Kel'Thuzad" Which kinda teased that tamsin is lich level of strong, and to me it always felt odd that tamsin just stormed into stormwind in order to summon anetheron without a REAL plan, outside of "Summon anetheron or i guess i'll die". If she was a lich all this time, then it makes sense that she wouldn't have cared about death... Because she resses infinitely as long as her phylactary is save. (At least i think thats how that works in WoW lore? Tbh i only know WoW lore from nobbel vids i watched quite some time ago, so i might be very wrong on this lol.) And even if she was not a lich yet, in lore they could always make it so tamsin is going to be rewarded by being ressed as a lich by Lady Prestor using a bit of power from some naaru shards, as thanks for creating the Anetheron distraction for her?
Either way i'm very hyped for this expansion, and i really hope we get some actual interactive AND most importantly: FUN gameplay again. (In b4 this comment ages poorly...) :[
Just like in mercs, If they are not an Orc I have no idea if it's Alliance or Horde. But the ciemetic got me pumped for the new expansion.
Or in terms of these characters;
Cariel (Paladin), Scabbs (Rogue), Tavish (Hunter), Xyrella (Priest), and Kurtrus (Demon Hunter), would be considered Alliance
and then;
Rokara (Warrior), Varden (Mage), Bru'kan (Shaman), Gruff (Druid), and Tamsin (Warlock) would all be Horde.
Alliance has: humans, dwarves, gnomes, night elves, draenei, worgen , Pandaren
Horde has: Orcs,tauren, trolls, forsaken(undead), blood elves,goblins, pandaren
Thanks for this. If I may ask, what happens with Illidari remain to whichever side their race os? (like Kurtrus being a nightelf)
Illdari like death knights remain to what side their race is on (so a night ekf dh will be on alliance or a blood elf Dk will be horde as example)
Thanks! They still answer to Illidan despite having a race side? Illidan was not in either side, right?
In WoW, the Illidari only become playable (i.e. join horde/alliance) during Legion, when Illidan is treated as neutral good (grumpy as always, but now understood enough to not be considered evil) and to be honest the factions don't matter all that much since they work together for the most part. Since then, Illidan is off in space acting as Sargeras' jailer and the illidari settle down to proper faction stuff as per their race.
So my muddled answer would be: they technically continued to answer to Illidan while he was around, yes, but basically everyone followed him for that short time so it didn't conflict with the faction allegiances.
Alright that's a good announcement. Got me laughing from the "hurry fall back" transition.
Guff making a snowman out of scabbs was also amusing.
Could've used a little more cow bell
Did anyone spot Tamsin in the Trailer?
So is this Lich person supposed to be Tamsin or is it a new character? Looks kinda masculine but I have no idea how Lich transformations work in WoW.
I guess at least they commited to her demise.
Hello WoW player here I have seen lady liches or at least a lady lich in wow VIA Margrave Sindane she is indeed a lady lich but she doesn't really have any of your favorite features. And it'd make sense for it to be tamsin since Kurthus is trying to kill her plus it's got her colour scheme so yes its most likely your Tamsin.
I mean, last time I checked boobs had no bones, so...
a grave injustice. Give me big tiddy skeletons
Most liches are the resurrected skeletons of orc warlocks from the First and Second War, which is where their size and dental work comes from. Although, Kel'Thuzad was resurrected from his ashes and still looks like that, so I have no idea how it's supposed to work.
But I believe that is Tamsin. They foreshadowed that she was practicing necromancy in the last Book, and the hair matches hers in the trailer's end card art.
Based on Maldraxxus in the Shadowlands, and in particular the House of Rituals (basically lich city), the lich look is more a product of the magics used than the species involved. Sadly, as soon as we accept that, there doesn't need to be any rhyme or reason for the look, beyond the rule of cool I suppose.
I noticed the hair too, but I wasn't sure. Would be a bit strange to replace her with some complete rando, especially a Lich, who, as far as I'M aware, aren't really standard Horde conscripts.
Kinda weird that I'm actually excited about how they're going to handle this.
