A new Legendary Hunter Hearthstone card has been revealed by Trolden for Fractured in Alterac Valley - Beaststalker Tavish!
Celestalon has confirmed that the only secrets that will be on this card are ones that are in Standard. The card will receive updates to its Improved Secrets pool while it also remains in Standard. Once sent to Wild though, the card will no longer be updated. (Source)

Secret support and 'always Huffer', I dont think a single card can represent better what I despise about Hunter more.
As others have pointed out, it seems very weak. Hunter hasn't played a 6-mana card all year - to make the cut, a 6-mana card really needs to potentially win the game, or swing it toward a next-turn win. This doesn't. Spending 6-mana to cast a pair of Secrets isn't worth a space in any Hunter deck, regardless of the Improvements. The Hero Power is arguably a down-grade - hitting the opponent's face for 2 each turn sets up outs with Piercing Shot, or Aimed Shot. Spending 3-mana for a turn-7 or turn-8 Leokk will just lose too many games.
At first glance this looks underwhelming. But honestly, its fine, good even. You can slot this card in most hunter decks if only because the hp is better and you gain 5 armor doing it. And for hunters, that may just be enough honestly. There are plenty of times Deathstalker Rexxar is just played for the 5 armor and clear, which this card is capable of doing just as well.
The improved secrets are good additions. Consider how Rinling's Rifle works in practice, and this card will suddenly look at whole lot better.
The hero power is cute. Being able to essentially summon huffer for 3 mana every turn will at some point tilt the shit out of others. But the real question to ask is why the hell is this valued at 3 mana when you consider that hp from the other heroes. Xyrella straight up deals 5 damage and still manages to cost 2, and Cariel's is straight up Blessing of Kings at 2. So why is this the only one that costs 3? Is it a straight up flavor thing?
The hero power is random, just like the spell, so you won't get Huffer every turn.
Cariel's power is not Blessing of Kings. It affects a random card in your hand, so it's a lot worse. (Random and no immediate impact.)
Xyrella's power flips back and forth between healing and damage (not 5 damage every turn), and the opponent will always know which one to prepare for.
I'm not saying this is quite as good as those, but c'mon, you severely overhyped those other hero powers.
Its not a question of whether this hp is better than the others. Its just that by costing 1 more you'd think that by default it has to be better than the others. And in my opinion, its really not.
woah 3 mana 4/2 with charge thats a good hp
I just realised...these Improved Secrets should in theory count as unique spells and as such you would be able to stack them on top of regular secrets, meaning that you can use both Explosive Trap and Improved Explosive Trap at the same time for a fat 5-damage AoE (unless they somehow coded it in a way that excludes each other which would be a bummer).
I wonder how double Freezing Trap would work though....
Pretty sure someone will tweet celestalon for an answer. Chances are good you're right, because I really dont think they would specifically code it so it wouldn't happen. Double freezing should work by increasing its cost by 6 (basically killing the target), and the animation will hilariously play out twice.
New OTK confirmed. Play Quest, do nothing for 5 turns, play this, then complete quest, then OTK your opponent from 30 by rolling 6 Huffers and a Leokk.
Rolling that board is about a 0.32% chance. I say go for it.
Those odds can't stop me because I can't do math.
This is the most lackluster Hero in the expansion. Compare this to Bru'kan or Xyrella.
It may be good, it may be competitive, but comm'on: upgraded Secrets and Animal Companions. Lazy design in my oppinion.
Edit: sounds more harsh than meant to. What wantef to say is that I'd like a more unique mechanic better.
May the downvoters probably explain at which point I am wrong?
RegisKillbin shares my concerns
I really wish there was a viable Secret/Spell Hunter deck in Wild, with stuff like Emerald Spellstone, Petting Zoo, Call of the Wild and Zul'jin on the top end. But given that (Odd) Questline Hunter exists, I doubt any other version of spell Hunter will be able compete for as long as that Questline remains.
So I imagine quest works with this Hero, in that case you can make this hero power cost 0 and refresh with each spell.
So, is there gonna be in this set a new Secret called Ice Trap?
Its text should be: "When your opponent casts a Spell, return it to their hand instead. It costs (1) more.
Ice trap wasn't revealed yet
Guess Tavish would be too busted if the HP was 2 mana. Weaving in a 3 mana HP is a lot more tricky than you might think, if Diablo hasn't taught us with Primal Power
It looks "ok". It's saving grace is coming down so early (6 mana) compared to a lot of the other heroes. I'm sure it will be played because why not have a better hero power overall (huffer is essentially an upgraded hero power from 2 damage to 4 damage) but it feels like this doesn't really synergize with anything else...
I like it but I think we need more secrets in standard for the Secret package to work
