  • You dont need to slot this into specifically token dhunter. This can fit anywhere, courtesy of its very powerful hp and decent battlecry. And also, its just one card, at a fairly safe cost of 6, with 5 armor gain.

That hero power is amazing. After this is played, you can't let even the smallest minion on board stick, or otherwise you'll get somewhere around 4-10 damage to your face, with just a one mana cost per 2 attack. Gets even worse when you consider the combo of Felfire Deadeye and Expendable Performers, giving you potentially 26 damage from hp alone if you manage to rush in all 12 minions.

If it gets nerfed to one attack at some point, I wouldn't be surprised to be honest.

  • Yup, DH enjoys its overpowered hero power so even using it sparingly you are getting quite the stats for just the 6 mana. Maybe not on curve but often right when you really need it. Mind you this card is slow but it packs some punch. I think it'll find play.

  • Extremely solid.  It looks like DH is getting the rush support with this hero card.  The ability to refresh your hero power whenever a minions attacks is glorious.  Thankfully, it will have minimal gains given that summon cards cost a bit of mana as well

  • Potentially busted with the Felfire Deadeye and Expendable Performers combo. Will have to always be vigilant with the amount of health on your side of the board to limit potential Hero Power damage.

  • Wow, DH first Hero Card came in swigging for the fence
    Strong!

  • Very cool hero card with a ton of finisher potential in Token Demon Hunter, and solid late game value for any slower Demon Hunter deck.

  • I'm happy that DH gets board based support.

Very strong hero power, I think that alone makes this card worth running if your are not playing any of the OTK variants.

I'm curious of the mechanics of the battlecry minions:

    • Do they start gaining buffs at the start of the game?
    • Do they gain buffs after they appear on board?
  • This has the potential to be insanely busted with Felfire Deadeye, and just pretty good besides that. Also happy to see the hero doesn't support OTK or Fel DH, hate those decks with their lifesteal shenanigans.

  • At first I thought Kurtrus was mediocre due to the battlecry, but it's the HP that will win games most times. The OTK potential looks promising, but would probably recommend having some sort of silence or removal in case taunts are a thing next expansion.

  • I really don't like what this enables but at least it also supports decks that don't just draw until they oneshot you. I wonder if it makes the cut in Deathrattle DH.

  • The pay-off Token DH needed. I don't like it that much, but I have to say it is a strong card even when ignoring the Felfire Deadeye + Expendable Performers combo. In fact, I'd argue that any deck that includes Kurtrus, Demon-Render will include Felfire Deadeye as long as it is in standard. Due to the ability DHs have to always have something on the board ready to attack, Felfire Deadeye will guarantee a lot of free Hero Power triggers.

  • ODD DH hero power with a side of Raza the Chained. This effect seems insane, and i bet that Felfire Deadeye will be nerfed pretty quickly. Because Felfire Deadeye + Expendable Performers seems broken, even if performers rotates next expansion. Actually, i'm certain Felfire Deadeye + ANY DH card that summons things with rush is super strong. What a powerhouse of a her card. I guess they really wanted to give DH a strong wincondition that's not lifesteal OTK.

  • How does the battlecry improve? Is it every time you attack? The number of demons summoned is spelled out, which makes me think it's always two, so is it like if you've attacked eight times you'll get two 8/4s? That hero power is nuts either way.

  • In before nerfs (to either this or Deadeye)

  • I think alot of people are over-focusing on the OTK-ish aspect of the hero power, but even just on a normal turn you can be expecting to gain about 6-8 attack from your hero power and attacking, meaning once you play this card, you instantly put your opponent on a quick burning timer.  Also, the rush minions at the start mean that on the first turn (mana permitting) you have at least 6 attack.  I think this card is super strong, and super annoying to play against.  A nice token finisher to the game.

  • Auto-included in every DH deck until they print another hero card.

  • Looks like a very solid card for Demon Hunter. I think it can even fit in with the big demon package that they look to be pushing with some of the other cards this expansion. Does anyone know what the scaling is for the rush minions? Are we increasing the number summoned or the stats of the two that get summoned?

  • Wow very powerful hero power, and the tokens are 5/4 if played on curve and attacke all turns. It has a great potential

  • I think Kurtrus will see play, and perhaps just in decks that want to upgrade their Hero Power. His Battlecry is so easy to build up over the course of the game and his Hero Power so efficient that it's really hard to convince myself that there's any Demon Hunter deck that won't want to run him.

  • Worth it just to upgrade the hero power, and with how many times a Demon Hunter can attack over the course of the game, the x/4s are a potent bonus.

  • The Hero Power is just a straight upgrade on the regular Hero Power - I have no idea why you wouldn't just run this in every Standard Demon Hunter deck. You don't even really need to be doing much comboing with it, it's just good.

  • Insane hero power. It will easily slot into every Demon Hunter deck for sure.

  • Awesome hero power, and the art is amazing too! Definitely my first golden craft this expansion.

  • Ok, who has been playing this card already? I'm thinking of crafting him, and want to hear how good he is.

    • Decided to go for it, and no regrets. Kurtrus is an insanely powerful hero card, and very fun to play. Combined with Felfire Deadeye, might even be OP. It does require some set up, and you will fail against non-minion-based decks. However, you can provide HUGE burst damage pretty easily, even killing priests through the taunt and deathrattles of Lightshower Elemental and Mo'arg Forgefiend. I recommend this hero card!
