New Shaman Hero - Bru'kan of the Elements
A new Legendary Shaman Hero, Bru'kan of the Elements, has been revealed!
Here is how the card works:
- When Bru'kan is played, you choose 1 of his 4 Hero Power options to immediately activate.
- You then get to choose a second option, of the remaining 3 Hero Power options you haven't activated.
- Each turn the Hero Power randomly rotates, even if it isn't used. (Think Dr. Boom, Mad Genius).

I love this card. As someone who loved playing Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, Bru'kan of the Elements is gonna be so fun to play!
Those elemental invocations look incredibly overpowered for 2 mana too, especially the Fireball to the face. But all in all this is a great control tool, and the fact that you could choose two invocations for the battlecry could make for some swing turns. The only downside is the 8-mana cost, but hopefully the meta slows down for this to see play.
And that card art looks sick.
The only downside is that you dont get to choose your hp each turn. Otherwise its nearly faultless. At least whatever you get will always be value for 2 mana.
WIll be in every shaman deck until rotation, because this can clear, heal and crucially, hit face for 6.
Imagine this with Brilliant Macaw. Yikes.
Very good Hero Card that can go into any Shaman deck. All of the effects are really good, and is a mix of Dr. Boom, Mad Genius and Kalimos, Primal Lord.
This seems to me the most late game oriented of the hero cards. I like the option to choose 2 immediate effects when this is drop, very flexible to your current game state.
Pretty nice.
A very flexible Battlecry. None of the options are worth 8 mana by themselves, so it's a good thing you can choose two of them. Obviously patterned after Dr. Boom. I hope the Quests allow for a slower, grindier, value-oriented meta because that's the one where Heroes like Bru'kan and Cariel will shine.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Not sold on it at all. 8-mana is really slow for an immediate effect that's barely worth half that. I estimate that you'd need at least 3 turns afterwards for the effect to pay for itself which i don't see happening with all the other much better lategame strategies currently available (and this isn't the fault of the Quests either, I doubt this would have been playable during Frozen Throne days)
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
I LOVE THIS CARD. Dr. Boom, Mad Genius and Kalimos, Primal Lord in one! This is such a cool value and control tool for shaman. Also remember it is a battlecry, which means it can be copied with Brilliant Macaw AND you can double it and replay it a bunch of times in one turn thanks to Bolner Hammerbeak which can lead to some fun and interesting (but not reliable) combos.
The one problem with Bru'kan of the Elements is that it's very slow. Sure for 8 mana you get some effects, but most are not really that good right away. Bru'kan of the Elements becomes better the longer the game lasts, because you get more value from the hero powers this way.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
The first new hero card I'm actually underwhelmed by. It's more expensive than Shadowcrafter Scabbs or Dreadlich Tamsin while having a less impactful battlecry, and the hero power varies so much that it will be extremely annoying to have to hope you roll the right one at the right moment. Slow shaman decks might still play it just because it's better than summoning totems, but an 8-mana card has to be very impactful and this sadly does not feel like that.
Awesome card - this will see play in every Shaman deck !
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Pretty great hero card but I do think Dr. Boom, Mad Genius is better due to giving mechs rush. Bru'kan of the Elements is still pretty nuts and imagine the diamond version of this card 😱
Definitely incentivizes control playstyle, coz that's a lot of value in one card.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
This seems great - similar to Kalimos, Primal Lord, but better up front and paired with long term value of the randomized hero power.
I thought the very same - the main downside being that you get an other unreliable/inconsistent hero power like you had already with your basic shaman HP - but the fact that they are all better options makes it a bit better too, but they are all only useful in certain situations, which you have no control over ... random will be random
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Nice. All four hero powers are quite strong, but unfortunately the current one might not be the best one for your situation, and you can't just press the fire one until your opponent dies. Being able to pick any two when this is first played should have a big impact as well.
I really like how every hero so far does a million things on the Battlecry... except Bru'kan of the Elements. Every Hero Power is decribing a card worth between 2 and 3 mana and the Battlecry is, therefore worth 5-6 mana (maybe 1 more for the flexibility). Bru'kan looks the most balanced Hero of all so far. In fact, al three Hero cards for Shaman look very balanced yet flavorful in their own ways, which is good.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Bru'kan does millions things on the battlecry.
You can aoe the enemy minions, heal your board, deal damage to the enemy Hero, summon taunt minions... The flexibility of that card is really good.
By The Holy Light!
Arena: Probably not draftable, otherwise yeah absolutely, draft this! What are you waiting for?
Constructed: The hero power is great of course, but the turn Bru'kan of the Elements comes into play he doesn't do a whole lot to be honest. Not for 8 mana and definitely not when you compare him with Shadowcrafter Scabbs or Lightforged Cariel defense wise. And although the hero power is good, the randomness is a big downside. Not all invocations are equally useful every turn. I hope I'm wrong, but he might just be too slow and too clumsy. Realisticly, he probably will see play at least somewhere.
Arena > Wild > Standard
Oh yes, he does, but not to the extent the other heroes do. Like I said, Bru'kan is the most balanced hero. Everything he does, he does well, but every other hero revealed so far (aside from Guff) does what Bru'kan does either better or cheaper.
When I say Bru'kan doesn't do a million things, it's not a criticism towards Bru'kan, it's a criticism towards every other hero revealed so far. Bru'kan is the good guy here.

But Bru’kan is (in my opinion) still the strongest hero revealed so far though, he is no where close to being balanced at all. The only caveat is that the game state right now does not allow for him to be played at all. (or the other heroes so far, except maybe Guff)
This ain't no place for a hero
The idea that with Lightning Bloom you can drop this card fairly quickly and be able to really abuse the power of that hero power makes my have high hopes. The idea that you can benefit from healing, DPS, protection, or just aggro control is really really good
I think Bru'kan belongs to a freeze shaman deck which can stall a lot until you can use the hero card.
I really love the art and it seems he is a very strong dps shaman as an enhancement and elemental one
Another day 1 golden craft for me personally. Then again I've always loved shaman even when they were 'bad' in vanilla.

I loved Kalimos when it was in the meta so I automatically assume that I'll love this one. And seriously, all of those hero powers are really good for 2 mana cost.
I love the flexibility of the battle cry. There was a legendary minion, whose name I can't recall, with a similar choose two of four options. It saw decent play and was generally useful.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Love the card, even if it bugs me that the options are variously different from Kalimos's options. Just feels like they should be the same, even if the power level wouldn't be quite right.
Welcome to the site!
Solid, and worth it just to swap out of your mediocre basic hero power.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Love this new Hero card, very flavorful hero power which brings back memories of Kalimos, Primal Lord.
Those hero powers are kinda insane, honestly... this will definitely be a staple it every Shaman deck.
