Card Interaction: Pressure plate and Conjurer's Calling

Hey guys I was wondering; how does Pressure Plate work if my opponent plays Conjurer's Calling on a minion on his side of the board?

Does the Secret trigger first killing the minion and also "Countering" the spell or Conjurer's Calling triggers first and I end up killing one of the 2 minions?

Just wondering, never had a chance to see the interaction but I'd like to be prepared.

  • Reading the card I'd assume it kills one of the two as it says after the spell is cast. It does also mean it would kill the tokens summoned by baited arrow and animal companion on an empty board

  • The Conjurer's Calling is going off summoning the 2 minions - after that Pressure Plate triggers and kills one of the 2 summoned minions.

Also works with the above mentioned minion summoning cards like Baited Arrow for example.

  • A handy rule for triggered effects is to always check whether they occur "when(ever)" or "after" they occur. A "when(ever)"-trigger occurs immediately, prior to the thing that triggers it (Explosive Trap, Vaporize), an "after"-trigger occurs after the event that triggered it(Rat Trap, Flame Ward).

That said, when in doubt it's always worth testing weird interactions, especially with cards that are worded in an unusual way, because Hearthstone isn't the most consistent of games and brevity is often chosen over specificity.
