So finally, Pure Paladin will now become its true self; Nerd Paladin!
Love this, here's hoping it's good
Hmm, I don't think it's going to make the deck quite competitive yet but Wild Buff Paladin is starting to look really interesting. With the two Liadrins you now have a good bunch of payoff for all your spells, the Libram mechanic makes it much easier to get your buffs out of your hand and into the pool and you can stock up on a bunch of cheap +1/+1 Librams to dump onto your Immortal Prelates. The issue is combo disruption, as that kind of deck intends to win in the long game and it's questionable whether it can keep up on value either considering potential dozens of N'Zoths from Galakrond Rogues or a multitude of powerful board floods should pure Control Warlock make a comeback.
This Libram package could actually make The Last Kaleidosaur fun in wild.
The archetype is already fun.
It's just not good enough in current meta.
Libram of Justice gives me interest enough to play this archetype, everything else looks really cool too. I hope it receives one more Libram card/support
I like that we went from knowing only a few cards for Paladin this expansion to basically knowing them all lol
Do you guys think that if I tell Reno he can get free hats by reading books, he'll start reading?
Cards that need their synergy in order to be good (but not really ground-breaking anyway). Pretty bad otherwise.
Unconvinced, at least with these Librams (I wish there was some Discover Libram for spells, ad if you were looking for solutions by studying a book). But maybe the whole thing is enough Tempo to be good.
Either way, I love the flavor of Librarian Paladin!
And Hand of A'dal is an excellent Jack of all Trades in any Paladin deck.
If combined with Pure cards, you'll get access to Lightforged Crusader as well, which is a nice value generator and might even give you other Librams.
Sorry for the site downtime - we got swarmed hard. Paladin seems to be a popular topic.
Yeah i was like wtf why isnt the site online. so what does that mean? too many ppl surfing within OutofCards?
Librams look pretty cool, especially if they plan on making more in future.
Also, there was a sneaky reveal of Hand of A'dal: 2 mana spell, give a minion +2/+2. Unless there's another line of text the card itself isn't super interesting, but I guess it confirms the naaru will be paladin's prime legendary.
Edit: others spotted it, not sure I like it always drawing a card. We used to have to work for that.
You can see the full text of hand above
Now I see what flavor text of Lady Liadrin meant
Oh wow now that's interesting.
First of all it gives context to Liadrin and makes her so much better (although it seems she won'T give you Justice, which is kind of a bummer)
The ability to play vanilla minions that permanently reduce the cost of some very strong spells that you can also get back over the course of the game is pretty strong. I mean you can easily get Hope down to 5-6 which is pretty strong (and if you max it out you can play it alongside Liadrin)
Even better, this works as Pure Paladin support (and that archetype isn't even half-bad).
I think Wisdom is probably the strongest of the 3 since you can easily get it to cost 0 and once you throw down Liadrin you probably get a bunch of them back that cost 0 which you can use to buff whatever's currently on the board...and then recycle the buffs to consistently shit out MASSIVE Silver Hand recruits.
This might unironically spawn an archetype on its own, since it basically packs inevitability as long as you manage to cast at least 3-4 Wisdoms.
Man, I actually feel like playing Paladin now.
Same, this archetype looks dope
Pure paladin receiving support lol
