In a ninja announcement this afternoon, Blizzard has announced a large change to Twin Slice, the Demon Hunter card everyone loves.
- The mana cost of Twin Slice and Second slice is being increased to 1, from 0.
- The attack that is added to your hero is being been increased to 2, from 1.
- These changes arrive in a patch on June 18, 2020.
A full dust refund is available if you've crafted Golden Twin Slice for 2 weeks from the patch date. Since the card is in the Demon Hunter Initiate Set, the normal version cannot be disenchanted.
Blizzard hasn't stated reasoning behind the changes, but we're sure people are happy Demon Hunters can't get away with free casts anymore. How do you feel about the change?

They need to change Altruis the Outcast and remove the face damage
theres no way in hell odd demon hunter wants to include this, get real
"...the demon hunter card everyone loves." LOL cracked me up
Tell me guys. How many times have you seen Heroic Strike being played? Not much. I bet this change will make the card be played on a similar level to Heroic Strike, albeit a bit more due to added flexibility.
A lot of times in pirate warrior during MSoG era. And it still remains my most hated archetype.
That's not a great comparison. Twin Slice is MUCH more flexible than Heroic Strike since it's split in two, and Demon Hunter as a class wants to attack with the hero MUCH more often than Warrior.
Man, some people will just never be happy! Blizzard has ALWAYS released OP cards, the only difference is that NOW they are actually fixing them in a timely manner. I'm no blind follower, but I like to give Blizzard the benefit of the doubt and say that they did a ton of testing, but that's never going to be enough to anticipate all the issues.
Now as for this "nerf," I like the way it cripples some of DH's too-strong-too-early plays, but the added damage may be too much in the late-game. I guess we'll see!
There's a difference between releasing a few cards that need retuning/reworking and having to nerf almost the entire class set you gave to the players for the game's new class. Imo that's a disaster from a design stand point.
Playtesting the power level & efficiency of a new class' aggro and/or burst potential isn't even hard compared to much harder things to detect, such as some obscure interaction between a new card and some other unrelated years old card. All they had to do to test DH was have devs play top tier decks and the other guy play the pre-nerfed DH cards, then see how quickly a game would end on average. That is the opposite of extensive testing so I find it incredibly baffling they released the class how it was.
It's clear the playtesting on class balance and/or card interactions is nothing like Blizzard's bigger game (WoW) and their design/balance team.
Odd demon hunter in wild is already comfortably tier 1. This is an enormous buff. Prepare for wild to be horrific for a month or two until they finally change somethin
For me the biggest issue right now in Wild are Secret Mages. Odd DH is and will be relatively easy to control, even with this Twin Slice buff. Probably it's just my perspective, but using mostly Combo decks I have average 70% WR against DHs, and 60% WR against mages.
I was in Wild only for about a year, but quit it for Standard about two months ago. It's hard to believe that with every card in existence, the meta in Wild feels even more stale than Standard. With all the constant tinkering the team does with expansions, releases, buffs, HoF, and nerfs, Standard at least sees a little more churn.
Standard is supposed to see more vibrant meta shifts *by design.* It's not hard to believe - it's exactly what everyone predicted would happen.
I wouldn't call this shifts in standard "vibrant", but they are quicker than the glacial change that is Wild.
Welcome back Hunter as the true insufferable class.
It lasted more than i thought, and more than it should have been
Man T5 really failed with introducing DH didn't they? What DH cards haven't they nerfed now?
Super poorly executed and received it seems.
RIP my wild Miracle DH deck with Arcane Giants lol
I like the indirect Nerf to Battlefiend, Satyr Overseer and Glaivebound Adept.
I'm curious to see how it will affect Odd DH. Also, could DHs start running Cobalt Spellkin? Their 1 Mana Spells are pretty good.
Agreed, I expect more nerfs coming after a while
kind of broken in wild :) Now I can play odd demon hunter again
