How do Wild Quest Mages Sleep at Night...

Submitted 4 years, 5 months ago by

It's literally cheating. Yes, you are climbing, but it's not your skill- it's Blizzard's oversight. I'm in disbelief that they really thought making two more spells in order to achieve Time Warp would change a thing. You could make it 12 and it would still be effective, balanced even.

I'm thankful that I'm not the kind of person that jumps on board to mindless, no soul decks just because they work, I really am. To the many Quest Mages out there, I want to tell you that your wins are meaningless. Every satisfaction that you got from victory was no different than a PARTICIPATION TROPHY. You are not achieving anything. You are jumping on ship to something that is broken and will be nerfed again.

It's pathetic if you think your playing ability had anything to do with it. Dwell on it a second and feel lousy about yourselves, please.

Big Sham takes more skill than you would think. Anyway, look at both decks' win rates. Ok I win this argument.

But thanks for the laugh XD

Quest Mage also takes more skill than you think.

WR are meta-dependant, and atm I think too many Pirate Warriors and Odd DH were scared away by the nerfs when their decks are still pretty fine. As soon as Aggro population is is restored, QMage will be ok.

Now, I would enjoy a nerf on Sorcerer's Apprentice, but if we want to be fair, Ancestor's Call and Muckmorpher deserve one as well. For the same reason: insane mana cheating.

I did, big shaman has a 66.5% winrate and quest mage has a 65% winrate on hsreplay, based off the highest recorded decklists.

What is this supposed to show?

And what argument was there to begin with? All I see in this thread is someone who can't find their way to the salt thread.

That can't be correct because it is auto loss to QM and they are everywhere.

I sleep comfortably at night knowing I shit on X amount of Big Priests, Mech/Odd Paladins, Big/Evolve Shamans, Mill Rogues, and other Secret/Quest Mages.

The deck is honestly fun, and in my mind, is what Wild is supposed to be along with all the decks/archetypes listed above. Bonkers “broken” only because they exist in Wild, and all around fun and enjoyable to play

Look, we all know that Quest Mage can be very swingy and uninteractive. But please consider these:

    1. It's not that OP. There are clear counters to the deck. It starts slow, and that's why Pirate Warrior stomps all over it. It's just the Rock-Paper-Scissors nature of all metas that it beats your Big Shaman which is even slower. Take the loss and play another game. Hope for a deck that you counter.

    2. There are real people playing those decks. They are just following an effective strategy. There's nothing stopping you from doing the same.

Ah, you're right. Your anecdotal evidence is far more reliable than actual statistics.

My apologies. Good job on winning the argument.

I dont like quest mage either but i totally dislike Big decks. Either shaman or priest etc. It's lot less skillfull cause u just auto pilot u play what u can. One card per turn. No decision making and im always against decks that require ZERO decision making aka big priest and the recent big shaman

My big deck takes way more skill to navigate than quest mage. It loses normally to both aggro and control. Quest Mage is too safe while having a very cut and clear win condition. There is so much stall, answers, and if you lack em make em. Then collect your Pokémon and go for the zero-counterplay kill.

Big Shaman can actually have a bad draw, can be shut down by the P Screams and saps of the world. QM is either you kill it fast with aggro or you 100% lose. Same for Maly Dru. Unfun noninteractive combo garbage that no one needs unless they are farming wins.

You might hate aggro but at least it’s a fun ride losing to it. No idea why anyone can argue this. Things will be better when they nerf the quest to 10 spells to catch up with the times.

Quest Mage comes and goes.  I don't think it's a constant annoyance.  Nothing is  more annoying than  Rogue though.  Thankfully it's not that popular but if I start a game against Rogue I know it'll be mill and I  usually quit because it's an insult to the game.

I don't see a lot of Mages while I'm playing wild.  I'm sure if you just quit and move on you'll be fine.

I hate Quest Mage with every fiber of my being, but even I admit that it's a deck that requires a high degree of skill. I'm pretty sure it's very rewarding to play which is why it still thrives in Wild, so you saying that it's an auto-win deck even for brainless players is plain wrong.

Besides, you're clearly running on salt right now, so just head on over to the salt thread where you can complain to your heart's content.
