I did all of these bounties with Gruul (with fire resistance) and whichever mercs I happened to have tasks for - sometimes also stuck a lvl 1 in for the xp.
Valeera and Diablo helps to get through them quicker if you have space.
On one hand, this is a powerful disruption tool. Dropping this vs a combo deck (or any deck that relies heavily one card like Kaz decks), can win the game outright. A very strong tech card.
On the other hand, though the disruption is very strong, this needs a lot of support to work. I liken it to a Quest rogue in terms of a build around. You will need to include as much pirates in the deck to make it consistent (like SI:7 cards to quest rogue). However, unlike the quest reward, this card does not seem like a win condition in itself. Though I'm sure the talented deckbuilders out there will make this work. Maybe some Shadowstep, Tenwu of the Red Smoke, Shadowcrafter Scabbs shenanigans to convert this to a win con card (similar to tick lock)
I assume the gameplay animation will be similar to Goliath, Sneed's Masterpiece as long as you play a naga to get the 2nd effect. You could combo this spell with Raj Naz'jan so Quest hunter is looking pretty scary now
Sounds a bit too slow to see play. It's basically Kazakusan for Rogue except you don't start winning the game once you play it, you just mildly inconvenience your opponent.
As long as this is the only payoff for a Pirate deck I don't see it happening. Best case scenario you're in a ressource war and you drop this to yeet 2 of their cards from hand.
I know one angryshukie would be glad to see this one. Seems like hooktusk is just a rogue for life. Now all we need is a portrait.
It was quite the relief! I guess she wasn't lying when she said "Cheatin'? I never fight fair!" back in RR. Now I know how serious she was with it, how could I ever doubt she'd stay in rogue?
We do seriously need her as a portrait though. Blizz could just be lazy and give us the emotes she already has and they'd make one of the best hero skins in the game in the process.
But the question remains, whether this will see play. The answer is yes. Will it be good? Probably not. Again, this is a turn 8 play with no rush or taunt, and rogue is notorious for their lack of defensive cards. So chances are good, if you maintain tempo throughout the game rogue will simply just die the following turn after this is played. Expect the mind control to be picked often, not because its the best choice, but because they'll literally lose the game if they dont.
As someone who loathed Tickatus I admit I hope this all ends up true. I always quietly want nasty rogue cards to be a bit rubbish so I can use them without feeling dirty, and this certainly fits that bill. Maybe in the end Raid the Docks, which looks stronger for a very similar condition, remains the pirate villain in the meta, and us Hooktusk users get to do what we like without feeling bad about it.
I don't think it's going to be as difficult to spend 8 mana with no immediate impact as people claim (they always exaggerate that), especially if Crabatoa and/or Shadowcrafter Scabbs are played the previous turn(s) to prevent the opponent's board being too scary. The pirate cards in rogue that we know about aren't aggressive, so I would be surprised if it ended up fast enough that reaching turn 8 was a sign that things had gone wrong. In which case, a control/combo killer card like this might be exactly what the deck needs to cross the line.
-----------------------
This is a bit disconnected but I wanted to say it somewhere people would see it: I look forward to rogue-warrior matchups where the warrior plays Nellie, the Great Thresher, then the rogue spitefully sinks Nellie's Pirate Ship with Bootstrap Sunkeneer. Now I guess you could just get Hooktusk to steal her ship back if you can somehow manage to get rid of Nellie herself first.
This card is lol busted. 6 mana for two rushing 4/1's and a 4 then 2/2 weapon is already fine at 6 mana (weapon is valued a little over 2 mana, the rushers a little over 4). Now package in a free body plus bundling and you got a spicy deal. Craft golden
I'm not entirely sure what you want since I don't play Yu-gi-oh but since you like a Priest-like control style, I imagine that you'd like a control deck that can generate value at the same time. sto650 already gave a pretty good list of deck concepts that have worked out while matching some parts of your descriptions so I highly suggest trying those decks out even if they have already been done and dusted. It will give you a good idea on how to deckbuild your own version and maybe even concept.
In regards to that, I think that Darkness style decks would be in line with what you want to do. Bandle City is a good region to generate value from and has a very control-centric gameplan. Veigar and Senna are usually the pair used and you can't really build out of Bandle City and Shadow Isles as of right now. However I imagine that you will find similar tools to Priest cards in this deck with the addition of being able to end games consistently.
Other than that, there is Fizz Nami/Zoe Nami/TF Nami. These decks are centered around playing spells with the ability to combo your opponents through elusive unblockable damage. Obviously these decks are not control however these are the only decks that have a "play lots of spells in quick succession, do cool stuff" concept.
Karma is also an idea you can try. She is not the best however there are a lot of ways to build her as a core gameplan that she fits with almost any region. She will be able to double cast your spells and your decks may even focus generating spells. Ionia also has a very "no u" style of gameplan if you're interested.
Marai Greatmother is also a card you should look out for. Albeit a bit slow and VERY meme, it is pretty fun when you are able to play her early on and win the turn after.
I made a post in the Handmaiden thread about Miracle Priest loving it, but we're losing both weavers. If Miracle Priest remains a thing despite that, same applies to this card, or if there's any deck that involves dumping a bunch of cheap/heavily discounted spells in one turn.
If you play two of these with seven minions, that's +14 spell damage. Then you just need two Scalding Geyser for a turn 8 OTK. I thought I heard they were moving away from OTKs, though I guess having fewer OTKs is still moving away.

A bit of a weird one for me.

New Rogue Minion - Pirate Admiral Hooktusk
So the effect is obviously insane with Take their Gold! being the most broken option but Take their Supplies! will ruin many Quest and combo decks.
But summoning 8 pirates for Rogue... sure we have Azsharan Vessel but we need more pirates in the core set to reliably summon 8
