  • Radar Detector is a New Paladin Card Revealed by TechPulse for Voyage to the Sunken City

    Quote From GameTheory345

I feel that it's also worth noting that the Mage colossal minion is a mech, and that Ambassador Faelin shuffles it to the bottom of your deck. I wonder what other spicy interactions we may see in the coming reveals.

Remember you don't get to choose which Colossal minions get added to your deck, it's random.

I like this card. It keeps the Unity of the Mechs in your decks. It requires Precision to play. It is, without a doubt, Perfection.

This is one thing I love about Hearthstone: because they established that they don't necessarily need to be extremely specific in a card's text, they are free to use words and sentence structure that make it so much more flavourful.

As a matter of fact, the word "scan" works perfectly here, since you don't actually look at the bottom 5 cards of your deck. It's like a sonar, where although you may be scanning multiple different objects, you'll only get readings of the ones your sonar is tuned to detect.

That said, Paladin has access to a grand total of a whopping 3 mechs thus far: Popsicooler, Goliath, Sneed's Masterpiece and that new dredge card. With the fact that we're seeing a lot of Holy synergy, I have a feeling there isn't going to be a Mech Paladin deck, but rather that this is to tutor a specific sunken mech minion.

  • New Paladin Spell - Radar Detector

Being able to draw 5 is nice. But that's near impossible unless your deck is literally 100% mech, and even then I'd still say its all for naught because there's never enough cheap mechs available that you can endlessly flood the floor with mechs

Its more realistic to see this as 2 mana draw 2-3, because even aggro pally's got to play a few spells, and then there's the indispensable cariel roame hero card too. So the best you can manage is about 20 mechs and 10 other cards. That's still a good average for this card to do really well for 2 mana.

Given that sunken sweeper belongs to mage, I doubt theres going to be a card that jams 5 mechs down your deck. But there's still the paladin colossal card so its still entirely possible.

  • New Paladin Spell - Radar Detector

2 mana draw draw 5 in a mech heavy deck? Sounds very good. The problem? Seafloor Savior is the only CLASS mech we know of after rotation, and most other mechs in standard are either rotating or in the core set.

Seriously, if we ignore core set cards and rotating cards all mechs in standard (we know of so far) are:

Seafloor Savior, Amalgam of the Deep which is a amalgam, Goliath, Sneed's Masterpiece and Popsicooler. All other mechs are either rotating or part of the core set. Sure paladin still has 4 cards that haven't been revealed yet, but those will NEED to be good pay-off cards or have some good synergy in order to see play.

Now that i'm thinking about it, Paladin does still have the "shuffle to bottom of deck" card that hasn't been shown yet, so maybe that's a mech. And paladin also still has it's collosal minion that has yet been revealed, so maybe that is a mech paladin card. (Similarly to mage with Gaia, the Techtonic) We will have to see though. Honestly i'm surprised to see mech paladin maybe returning. Would have expected Murloc paladin instead lol.

Also i'm not sure if this even sees play in wild, unless the mech stuff this expansion is really good. If the rest of the mech paladin cards are good, than paladin has a lot of mech synergy from Boomsday that they might be able to create a new mech paladin deck with.

Paladin dont have any good mechs, this card looks fancy but not what useful. I quess paladin colosus minion will be mech so it make sence. ( I am not talk about wild)

If it draws 2 it's really good and more it's insane !

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Lady S'theno

Interesting - and seems very strong! Also if the enemy board is clear she goes face everytime you play a spell right ?

  • New Paladin Spell - Radar Detector

    2 mana draw 5 card.

    Yes, looks balanced.

Pally will get some sunken mech for sure!

  • New Paladin Spell - Radar Detector

Good draw enginge if enough mechs emerge in standard / and paladin this expansion. But i guess it only will be good if a mech paladin will be a staple in the meta.

  • Lady S'theno is a New Demon Hunter Card Revealed by Basgamer for Voyage to the Sunken City

This should be fun to slot into Fel Demon Hunter!

  • Radar Detector is a New Paladin Card Revealed by TechPulse for Voyage to the Sunken City

Looks like pally's going mech next expansion. Perhaps teasing the return of magnetic, given than mage is also going mech? Because with this card, it goes without saying that if there's simply not enough mechs in standard then whats the point of even printing such a card.

And that's basically the performance value of this card. If your deck is 80% mechs and you get 4 cards for this one then this card is absolutely broken. But more likely you'll be getting around 2-3 on average, and at the very worst all you'll accomplish is shuffling your deck for 2 mana.

Its kinda hard evaluating this, because we dont know the full set of mechs available yet. But if there is enough, then you can perhaps have a deck with 20 mechs in it and 10 spells/hero cards and call it a midrange pally deck.

  • Gaia, the Techtonic

What tokens does this produce with Colossal?

Edit: found it, had to go back in time to the announcement article.

As feedback tot he site navigation, it would be nice to include the tokens on the Card pages.

  • Lady S'theno is a New Demon Hunter Card Revealed by Basgamer for Voyage to the Sunken City

I mean I would rather them not use combo decks in DH.

If you think that's everything then nvm about the combo and control.

Tempo/Midrange and Aggro seems like the best direction.

DH has always been aggro and Midrange that so those are staples for it.

It be da mojo mon everybody knows ya just gotta cut em off a couple times and dey be regeneratin' bigger den before!

  • New Paladin Spell - Immortalized in Stone

That's a lot of stats behind 3 taunt minions, which will ruin aggro dreams. That alone makes me happy and want to play this spell. Big Holy Spell Paladin, here we come!

  • New Paladin Spell - The Garden's Grace

Well this spell paired with Kotori Lightblade would be scary. And if I'm reading it correctly, if you play Immortalized in Stone for eg, this would become 3 mana?

  • New Paladin Minion - Seafloor Savior

So the obvious choice is to add Seafloor Savior to a handbuff paladin but holding onto this card just for a +1/+1 buff from Alliance Bannerman isn't good. TBH I doubt this card will see much play, unless additional hand buffs like Smuggler's Run are added to the core set.

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Lady S'theno

This legendary will be a menace to token/aggro decks if it turns out to be good. Lady S'theno could slot into Fel or Quest DH as both decks run a lot of spells. And with Immolation Aura rotation, DH needs some tools to remove small minions. Also good that you know which enemy it'll attack, so you can setup some nice removal with Fel Barrage too.

You can also guarantee she will keep hitting face when against spell based decks like Quest Mage.

Excited about this legendary, definitely fair and balanced

Youve got to be more specific, because your description of what dhunter should be more or less covers everything.

As for spell slinging, that's practically what the class has been doing since the start of darkmoon. The old il'gynoth dhunter had 5 minions tops. The current one has a little more. Its nothing new.

  • How to Complete Leeroy Jenkins Mercenaries Event Task 1 "Take'em Down Quick" - Tips & Parties Inside

I had Gruul + Anduin + Natalie, since I was trying to complete a "heal 900 damage" task at the same time. Probably not the quickest approach, but I got it done in 21 turns, so well below the 30 turns allowed. Gruul makes it so easy, since you deal lots of damage while taking very little with the fire resistance item equipped.

The same comp worked for the second task (keep all your mercs alive) as well and was actually a better fit there.

The other three characters were Brightwing (the one that had the heal task), Wrathion (mainly hoping to collect some coins) and The Lich King (more healing, taunt + freeze gives healers more time to patch up a focused merc, Human synergy with Anduin). But I barely used these, it was Gruul + Anduin + Natalie doing most of the work.

Good catch! Do you use it in any particular comp?

I used an anti-dragon build I already had been using in PvP (because of the popularity of dragon comps there). It's Gruul, Gromm, Sinestra, Lokholar, Varden, Jaina. This comp beat every boss in Onyxia's Lair EASILY. However, for greater success in PvP and heroics bounties, I plan to make some swaps. The frost synergy with Lohkolar/Jaina/Varden can be good, but can also be anti-synergy because Gromm and Varden slow enemies down, while Lokholar wants them to go sooner so he gains more frost damage. I'd use Balinda if I had her.

I think Gromm and Gruul are a must: they can slow/pound/destroy most dragons easily. Sinestra can be strong, but was probably the weak link here, especially since there was no other dragon to activate bleeds. I think you'd be fine with any strong caster build: holy, nature, etc. You just bring in the reds when there are greens and bring in the blues when there are reds. The blue dragons are usually not too hard to manage.

  • Lady S'theno is a New Demon Hunter Card Revealed by Basgamer for Voyage to the Sunken City

I feel like Demon Hunter shouldn't be so spell based.

DH should be a Aggro, Midrange, Control class

Not a spell slinger class. Combo decks are an exception though.
