So I got 8800 dust (twice) which boosted me to somewhere around 19-20k dust. I logged back in today (I didn't spend any dust or craft anything) and all the dust is gone and I'm back to my original value...
So I thought the script/fix they were running was supposed to delete the *extra* dust, but not the reward dust...?
I should at least have somewhere around 11k dust after their dust reward.
Not sure if you checked the stats but Big Beast hunter is far from tier 4 competitively and it is by far the best play in the deck. Ichman ends games.
The stats are misleading because it is a 9 mana card and most games are decided before turn 9. You can only play him if you have already won by surviving. That's why Ichman's winrate is so high.
That#s not just reading raw stats, the VS Data Report says the same. If Ichman was just a "win-more" card the deck wouldn't have a positive winrate.

If I'm building a deck in wild and use the filter to look for any card I then get stuck with a symbol of an infinity loop in the search bar and I can't search for any other card until i come out of the deck builder, cancel the filter in my collection and go back into the deck builder.
I'm pretty happy with these nerfs overall, nothing really stands out except Sorcerer's Apprentice coz it'll also indirectly fix the animation exploit without Blizzard addressing it directly.
I'd probably end up DE all cards, especially Raid the Docks. It'll probably still be playable, but so over playing that deck now.
A free golden altarac pack? That's great! Also the other packs seems solid, so i'm looking forward to the legendary questline.
We just have to play ladder/duels so that's pretty easy to complete as well. (I'm glad there is no "Play Mercenaries" part to this questline lol.)
I know it's pretty early to say this, but i wish everyone good luck on their free packs, especially the golden altarac pack! I hope everyone gets something good!
That's pretty much what this feature sounds like. You select some or all of your portraits and will be assigned a random one of them whenever you start a match.
So i came up with 2 new ideas, and i dropped Ring of Purity and Ring of Strength due to feedback.
Prince's Ring basically lets you automatically summon a 1/1 as a target for spells, letting you always have a way to play them. A Blessing of Kings will summon a 5/5.
Lute of Divinity is for buff priest, an archetype i dearly love but always sucked, no matter how many seemingly op cards it got. Perhaps a free recast of your spells would make it decent.
Lunar New Year is always Chinese themed, but this time around it feels like more Pandaria. Might it tease a Year of the Panda with a Pandaria Card set?
I think it is too soon for a new Class, so it might be too soon for Pandaria.
Demacia isn't a region that's about big finishers - they're about skilled, disciplined armies winning in a fair fight through superior strategy and strength. They're good at getting value trades and building board advantage over time thanks to Challenger, Barrier, and Tough keywords. (44% of cards with Challenger, 50% of cards with Barrier, and 50% of cards with Tough are Demacian.) They've also got Dragons whose Fury keyword emphasizes value trading, and their removal tools are mostly based on striking. As a result, their big payoff cards aren't about directly blowing up the enemy, they're about capitalizing on what Demacia does best - build and maintain a board over a series of turns. This is well-emphasized by For The Fallen and Reinforcements whose payoffs come from building and trading an Elite army, but all of their 8+ cost followers do this too - their value scales directly with how wide your board is when you play them.
This is how it's supposed to work in theory in practice not so much. Either your opponent keeps throwing blockers at you which weaken your units and put them in removal range and when you lose your board in Demacia you just lose the game because the region lack good finishers or they stale long enough for their own win con to be online, you value trade then a Sejuani hit the board and start perma freezing your units... or Lee Sin oneshot you... or an Ezreal burst down your nexus... or an aggro finish you off with burn...
In a way you are wining the battles but losing the war.
In many ways, I think you could actually argue quite the opposite of your original point - that Demacia is a fairly healthy region. It has three competitive decks that feature its Champs, all of which have varying playing styles (Laser Gate Control, Pantheon Dragon Midrange that focuses on buffing single units, and Scouts Midrange that focuses on going frequent attacks with wide boards). Even in decks that feature Demacia in a limited support capacity, you see key elements like Fleetfeather Tracker and Brightsteel Protector, a combo which is fundamental to what Demacia is good at, as well as splashes of Vanguard Sergeant to capitalize on a wide board or Ranger's Resolve to out-value your opponent on board.
Dragon are meta because they have access Dragon's Clutch a card that grant them overwhelm turning them from mere beatsticks into powerful finisher and that a Targonian card by the way. They also have Pantheon who is a finisher himself.
Lux/Jayce has Acceleration Gate to give your unit powerful keywords that let them finish off your opponent. Not only that but Lux herself has been recently buffed so that her Final Spark can target the nexus directly.
Saying that Demacia lack of good finisher is design choice to me is like saying the region isn't supposed to win with it's own champions/follower which not something that I consider to be a healthy design choice. Especially since no other region in game have this weakness and Demacia already plenty of weakness to begin with including poor card draw removal that require you to already have unit's on the board etc.
Yesterday I watched a video where Kibler argued that he felt rogues cards were pretty ok, as long as rogues can't cycle through their decks so fast to find all the cards they need in the right time. Today I see blizzard just adjusts the mana cost and the damage of the Gnoll. That's a bit dissapointing imo.
Lord Barov's buddy is uber broken, he becomes n°1 hero in the game imo. Then, in order of power: Maiev, Al'akir, Milhouse, Malygos, Kragg, Galewing, Cookie, Galliwix, Patches, Zephrys, N'zoth, George, Elise, Tickatus, Chenvalaa, Bazhial have pretty strong ones too.
I'm not sure about Greybough, Reno, Aranna, Mutanus and Sneeds but they definitely have some potential. I hope Yogg is huge memes. Xyrella and Brann don't look super flamboyant, but they seem very solid.
Finley's buddy is also a virtually better version of every buddy equal or higher to Tavern 3, since he gives 1 more gold. He's going to be fun with brann and Jandice too.
Well, its going live in 6 days, so I guess at some point it'll be revealed, probably tomorrow or the day after.
Looks like training grounds is as useless as I thought. Useful perhaps to those who just joined into mercs and have tons of cash to splash on packs. I was actually thinking that this might passively give out some coins to the chosen merc, even if its very slow and in very small amounts. Because you'd passively level up your mercs while grinding up for coins anyway, so what is the point?
As I understand it, it's targeted towards casuals who don't grind mercs. So when they log in, they get some semblance of progress.
For grinders and those that min-max, it's low value.
I hope nobody spent the dust they got. They gave me around 7600 dust yesterday, but I just logged in and the dust is gone. I hadn't received any of those uncraftable goldens (other than earning them normally), so no surprise that I didn't earn any dust from this. I'm just glad I didn't craft anything with that 7600 dust while I had it!
Alterac has only been out a little more than a month, I guess we'll have to wait another month for the mini-set. It makes more sense to release it in the second half of the expansion cycle, especially with the upcoming nerfs.

HS BUG: Filter getting stuck on wild deck building.
This problem still really gets my goat.
If I'm building a deck in wild and use the filter to look for any card I then get stuck with a symbol of an infinity loop in the search bar and I can't search for any other card until i come out of the deck builder, cancel the filter in my collection and go back into the deck builder.

I would have rather liked a "random portrait" and "random coin" - similar to "random card back".

Why is no one talking about miniset?
Yeah, minisets usually launch 2 months after an expansion.
I expect it to get released mid to late Feb at the earliest.

I think that poor Sorcerer's Apprentice deserves some stat buff. With 4 mana it could be 3/3, or maybe even 2/4.
Why is no one talking about miniset?
Mini-sets for Darkmoon Faire and Barrens were released 9 weeks after expansion, and for Stormwind it was crazy 13 weeks after main expansion.
Alterac went live on December 7, so it is only week 6. Too early for mini-set I think.
