They really went all in on Chef Scabbs, and I'm so glad they did. If they're going to give us 4 versions of the same character, they might as well make at least one of them a silly gimmick.
Decent, though a lot of the Fel spells you want are really cheap already. Which is a good thing if you wanted to play them the same turn, but on the other hand it kind of feels empty.
5 stars just for the fact of never running out of burn. Ironically, might only need to run 1 though, since you'll build the damage slower with two different copies and you're probably left with drawing one card at a time while (near) fatigue anyway.
On the plus side, if you manage to play this once, you're basically guaranteed to be able to play the second copy when you draw it! Then you can make use of all the board buffs like Wicked Whispers...
All said and done though, I think Zoo pales in comparison to Questline Warlock.
Yeah frost spells are definitely the main limiters for this quest right now. Brain Freeze is very solid, and Cone of Cold and Oasis Ally can be playable, but the rest are either too slow or too low impact to make them feel worth running. As more frost spells get added to mage, I can see this quest becoming significantly better since there already is a rather healthy pool of arcane and fire spells for it.
Super cool flavor and they still gave Rogue the sharks since Rastakhan's Rumble 😜 Pretty great deathrattle as those coins will be put to good use in rogue
The reward is strong but the main question is the consistency in playing the required cards for each step within a reasonable time frame. If it is too slow to complete consistently then it's better to just use regular spell damage minions (like Imprisoned Phoenix). If it isn't too slow to complete then it's possible that it will allow Spell Damage Mage to cut some slower cards (Phoenix is pretty slow) for more early game tempo. I think the quest will work fine with or without minions if it isn't too slow. The main problem are the frost spells which are pretty underwhelming. I'm playing with a Spell Damage Mage deck and it is pretty decent but i'm not really using any frost spells. They can be useful when discovered but adding them directly to the deck isn't really worth it imo.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention! For whatever reason, in the database we had an older version of that step of the quest being shown instead of the most recent one, which is not only worded in the same way as the other steps, but is also now called "defend the squirrels" instead of "protect the squirrels". So to answer the question, the three steps work the same way, you can make incremental progress on your hero power.
Cool flavorful meme card for Rogue, just like Yoink! is. Will be fun to play in the first couple weeks of the expansion but only if I get it in my packs
Arena or anti-aggro tech card. No control deck would reliably want to run this unless aggro is rampant in the meta, even then it's not great and only stalls for time. Maybe combo decks might use it
Most times, you'll get a zero mana fel spell (seeing as there's 4 different 2-cost spells), it'll definitely see play in the new "fel spells DH" archetype, if it's any good.
My first thought when I saw the quest steps was to wonder if it might be worth running the quest simply for the step 1 (and maybe step 2?) rewards, without necessarily even intending to take it all the way? But maybe it takes too long to complete the steps if you haven't built your deck around damage spells.
New Neutral Minion - Lady Prestor
too slow and too random to affect the meta
New Neutral Minion - Lady Prestor
I'm not sure how great this will be, but I certainly won't complain about a 2 mana Alexstrasza the Life-Binder.
Dan "Frodan" Chou is Stepping Away from Casting Hearthstone Grandmasters Next Season and Beyond
thank you Frodan for all the entertainment and joy you have brought to me all those years.
New Neutral Minion - Guild Trader
Tradable is what saves this card, otherwise Shaman and Mage would rather play Imprisoned Phoenix.
New Druid Spell - Sow the Soil
Really good for Token Druid, I wouldn't underestimate having a cheap board attack boost.

New Demon Hunter Minion - Felgorger
Decent, though a lot of the Fel spells you want are really cheap already. Which is a good thing if you wanted to play them the same turn, but on the other hand it kind of feels empty.
New Mage Minion - Grand Magus Antonidas
A lot of work for maybe 18 direct damage to the face. Someone is gonna try to make this work, but I'm not holding my breath.
New Mage Spell - First Flame
Twin Slice, Ray of Frost, whatever spell you want to compare this too, this sits nicely next to them.
New Mage Spell - Ignite
5 stars just for the fact of never running out of burn. Ironically, might only need to run 1 though, since you'll build the damage slower with two different copies and you're probably left with drawing one card at a time while (near) fatigue anyway.
New Warlock Spell - Dreaded Mount

New Priest Minion - Psyfiend
Mini Spawn of Shadows, how cute. Will prob see experimentation in the new shadow priest I'm sure. Outside of that deck, it's not great
Overload Quest Spell Shaman
I think you accidently put fedral sprits in the deck. Its not a nature spell
New Rogue Minion - Maestra of the Masquerade
Cool flavorful meme card for Rogue, just like Yoink! is. Will be fun to play in the first couple weeks of the expansion but only if I get it in my packs

New Hunter Minion - Rodent Nest
Team 5: "What theme do you want to give hunter this expansion?"
Answer: "Rats!"
This isn't a great card but it'll get your minions dying quite easily to trigger that dormant effect for The Rat King
New Demon Hunter Minion - Felgorger
Most times, you'll get a zero mana fel spell (seeing as there's 4 different 2-cost spells), it'll definitely see play in the new "fel spells DH" archetype, if it's any good.

New Neutral Minion - Entrapped Sorceress
Venomous Scorpid is 100 times better than this card, it's a complete joke. I guess you can run both if you want all that extra value
