  • Level 50 Hero Portraits

None of them really stand out to me aesthetically. It's gonna come down to Rogue, most likely, in-part because Maiev is simply alright and there aren't many other options available. My thoughts on the classes:

    Show Spoiler
    • DH - I own Aranna, and she's okay. Illidan becomes tiresome to listen to.
    • Druid - I actually like Lunara.
    • Hunter - Alleria is my favorite.
    • Mage - I love Jaina (the character; not necessarily the portrait), but Kel'Thuzad all the way.
    • Paladin - I sat through hours of the WoW Starter Edition so I could play as Liadrin.
    • Priest - I hate Priest, the Priest skin is ugly, and Tyrande is fine.
    • Rogue - Maybe?
    • Shaman - I don't like it. Despite my hatred of murlocs, Morgl is serviceable. Missed out on the cooler options.
    • Warlock - N'Zoth all the way.
    • Warrior - Wish Deathwing was in dragon-form, but he's cool enough for now.

So…yeah. I guess Rogue it is.

But, I guess many would choose to trust linkblade over me.

Don't knock yourself too much: your opinion is just as valuable as mine :(

Of the three presented, I actually like Gorgannon the most. A Battlecry with an effect that's not immediate is different, and I can see myself using Gorgannon in, say, a Plot Twist and/or Supreme Archaeology deck that needs additional juice after burning through a lot of its cards. It also leads to some interesting decision-making, because both players will know when the effect occurs that you ran out of minions.

I changed Balance Keeper, as well as thought that you may like a card I made for previous comp, but wasn't sure if it doesn't break the rules. The last one is card I found in my Imgur album, I think it may be not bad to reuse some of my older ideas.

Here is previous version of Balance Keeper, as well as the choice cards:

    @BloodMefist

I'm worried that the fact that are already giants in this comp makes them less likely to get good scores (what reminds me about All the Rage competition, where there were a bunch of cards with just keywords, and despite they were fitting the competition, they ultimately ended with rather low scores) so I would go with Rusted Fel Reaver, however I'm not sure it will be realy liked either, beause it may not look realy interesting. However, unlike linkblade91, I think it is better with Taunt than without it. But, I guess many would choose to trust linkblade over me.

  • Creating Counter Decks to Troll Specific Decks

I've never really done this, but I can understand why People do that. It can be a way of venting out your frustrattion against a certain deck.

And I don't think that this has necessarily something to do with how those decks perform on ladder. If I remember correctly, Big Priest had for the most of the time a mediocre winrate, and yet it still managed to become one of the most hated archetypes of all time.

  • Book of Heroes Uther & Second War Uther Bundle is Now Live! Earn 1 Free Paladin Card Pack

I'm not sure de-sexualisation is really the same thing as "cartoonization", and certainly it feels more like a response to modern western ideals than censorship for China. Hiding skeletons on the other hand...

Anyway, none of that has anything to do with which Arthas skin we got. That is a simple matter of representing the Paladin class with a Paladin and not a Death Knight. They can break class boundaries if they end up at a kind of non-class, e.g. N'Zoth isn't anything, and Maiev is a warden which is kind of a rogue but not really. But breaking class boundaries by using another playable class (in WoW) is a no-go.

Since they added DH I wouldn't be surprised if we got the DK class one day, but I don't think this is any sort of hint towards it. After all, it would be pretty tough to tell Uther's story without including his death at the hands of Arthas. Nevertheless, when DK does eventually arrive, and inevitably has Arthas/Lich King as the basic hero, I'm sure his Book of Heroes will involve that fight.

I have been curious for a while how they will handle The Lich King since they went out of their way to replace Illidan's card with Xavius, making it clear they don't want the basic heroes to have minion cards too. I guess they could choose a different character to be the basic hero, but that would feel as wrong as not using Illidan for DH.

I'll tell you what I would consider a hint at an 11th class though: if we (finally) go to Pandaria, have a bunch of Shado-Pan cards, but there is no sign of Taran Zhu. That would scream "monks are coming eventually and we are saving him for that".

Completely stuck on Dark Portal here. Doesn't seem to be any way to trade efficiently with the deck given.  By the time I get Consecration (Equality is in the deck? Really?) The opposing board is 6 wide and 4 toughness.

I guess it's just persevere for the nuts draw.

  • Creating Counter Decks to Troll Specific Decks

    Quote From dapperdog

Otherwise, I can't see why anyone would do it. In most cases, even now, tier 1 decks probably only make up somewhere around 20 - 30% of meta. So if you, for example, put double Kobold Stickyfingers, Acidic Swamp Ooze, and Frozen Shadoweaver into your deck in anticipation of evolve shaman, what are you going to do about the games when its not evolve shaman? Its sort of like creating a deck that hard counters the current tier 1 deck whilst being hard countered by every other deck around it.

Well, not being able to see OP's post, i can only guess at the issue. But to address your post, Kobold Stickyfinger is being used in several control decks right now. It hurts everyone who uses a weapon and it actually hurts Bomb Warrior more than Evolve Shaman because Evolve Shaman has a few spells it can use besides the weapon. (Their weapon is preferred of course.)

I play competititve decks but now and then I love to relax and bring out Bomb Warrior for few games now and then during the month and it makes me very sad to see that card become so popular.

  • Golden Kiri. Beatifull animation, Horrible card.

Just realised i misspelled "beautiful".... Welp unfortunatly i can't change it. :P

  • Lightforged Card Back is Now Available in the Hearthstone Shop

well if you wouldn't doesn't mean nobody would

You underestimate some people wanting to have it for collection but have spent all the gold...

  • The Price Is Right - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Thanks all for the feedback, the final version is already in the contest, it prevents Potion of Illusion, but it's still a 3 mana Spell damage +3, which it's quite powerful.

why somebody should spend real money for a back ?

  • Level 50 Hero Portraits

I started playing Warrior this Expansion, so I'm gonna go with the Garrosh one.

Don't know what I'll get next though. Priest is my main class, but that Skin is the worst one imo. Hunter and Shaman are kinda alright. Rogue is cool, but I'll never let go off Maiev.

Guess I'll just roll a Dice or something!

  • Snowpocalypse

Now the real question is... would you throw a snowball at deathwing and risk his wrath?

  • Lightforged

Thank god they brought this one to purchase, I missed it and I loved the artwork.

  • Hearthstone's First Expansion of 2021 Will Have a 100 Level Rewards Track Instead of 50 (Battle Pass)

The new rewards track launched the week before the expansion. I played a lot in the first week to complete the weekly quests, which means the gold from the first levels of the track was among the gold I spent on DMF packs. So it's certainly possible to not have opened any packs since launch day and be at a lower gold total.

  • Killed in battle grounds with 40 hp

Got to agree. Would love for damage to be capped around 10ish. Too many high rolls out there. Keep it gentlemanly.

  • Card Design Conversation - Justified

The comparison with Apexis Blast (AB) is not as simple as you make it sound. When used for removal, AB has a strictly worse primary effect, and whether a random 5-drop on board is better than 2 known minions in hand is debatable. It is better for tempo, sure, but priest doesn't usually need to play for tempo.

On the assumption a spell priest would play to priest's strengths and grind out long games (instead of just trying to mimic spell hunter and have every spell summon minions, which always feels like it undermines the whole concept of the deck), Shattered Memory would normally be more useful than AB since a lonely 5-drop on board isn't going to achieve much anyway.

There is a fundamental point here: bad tempo does not equate to a bad card. The only reason it has felt that way for a while is because aggro has been pushed really hard in the Year of the Phoenix, but that was not always the case and will not always be the case in the future either.
