Dual-land completion is appreciated. They are incredibly powerful and are a 4-of in any combo that can use them. Combinations that didn't have those dual matches just weren't competitive, which made me sad because I've been chomping at the bit for a solid Green/Black deck. Green/black counter decks are fun, so the legendary wolf is pretty damn cool. It's sort of clunky to use because you can't use the ability till your upkeep but with the Ozolith it could work out.
Kaya is sexy, very targeted removal upon drop if needed or a powerful token generator. Unfortunately due to black's popularity right now and all the white exile cards it is probably a bad environment for Planes walkers in general. I think the inclusion of so many 'exile' effects has hurt deck design, ruining many 'deathrattle' type effects and preventing graveyard access to either return or revive creatures with an form of consistancy.
Last note... COOL FREAKIN' ART! I love the style of these cards. Cool armor, tattoos out the butt, awesome hair. Can't wait to see more.
Pack Your Bags only activates on the 4th Go Hard cast Assuming drawing an extra card cost 2 mana on average at best, the total cost for the activation is: 2 + 2 + 2 = 6 mana + 4 mana for each cast = 10 mana
Lest not forget, it requires drawing and casting ALL the 4 copies or no deal Looks a fair card to me

Where did you get the math that drawing a card costs 2 mana? Go Hard card requires 4 total mana, including using spell mana to activate. Would you have used the same logic to defend jade idol as well? Each card draw costs 2 mana?
When you said "wild west set before", I thought you meant the first one I did and not the second one (which is the most recent one and the one you're talking about).
I have to wonder about the achievement assumption. I think it's safe to say I'll be missing out on a lot of that XP due to not having many of the cards necessary. At least in the grand scheme of things that XP is a drop in the bucket, and most people should have no problem reaching 50 or beyond without it.
Still, at some point I want to make an effort to hunt down what achievements I can.
Same! Something about his ”Huh, Greetings!” But I use him more ever since I hit the 500 wins mark (Thanks, Bomb Warrior!). But it’s also weird thinking I don’t use him due to his brash personality, so instead I use Mr “I AM THE END OF ALL THINGS!” 😂
That makes sense. I hadn't thought about the physical card game thing.
Yeah, it seems like Elves could be really strong with G Shapeshifters, party cards that are elves, and general G elves from Core and other expansions. With B providing more Elf support and removal it could be tough.
When they announced the ~20% XP loss, I expected that number to include levels past level 50, which actually made me very excited. So, that expectancy I had didn't get fulfilled, which was a letdown (you'll see why later), although I do understand it was my fault there.
But will the changes lead to a substantial increase in gold for the full expansion? Well, let's take a look:
The 800XP -> 900XP change affects 10 out of 66 dailies. The average gold you get every week (i.e. the sum of all gold from each daily divided by the number of dailies) went from 1015,(15)XP to 1030,(30)XP. Multiplied by 7 days, we went from 7106,(06)XP to 7212,(12)XP;
Weekly quests became overall easier to finish, but had no change in numbers, so we still get 6000XP from there;
I'll use the same 1 hour of ranked play Flux used here, so we get 2800XP (7x400XP) from playing;
So, that means 1 week of playing will net us a total of 15906,(06)XP (before) or 16012,(12)XP (after);
Now, I don't recall exactly when did the expansion start, but I ended up considering that this expansion cycle will have a total of 19 weeks (around 4 and a half months). This means we get a total of 302215,(15)XP (before) or 304230,(30)XP (after) [the 800XP -> 900XP change will give us a total of 2015,(15)XP throughout the expansion, so around 50G (1 level)];
Now, let's also assume we complete 75% of all achievements (11100XP) and we get up to 10 wins of duels (8200XP);
That means the total XP we'll get will be 321515,(15)XP (before) or 323530,(30)XP (after).
How does that translate into levels? In the old system, we would get to level 78 and, in the improved system, we'll get to level 163. In that scenario, we'll go from a total of 9750G to 11300G, so we'll get an extra 1550G, which is pretty good.
PS: If the system also reduced post level 50 XP by 20% (which I wrongly interpreted), that means we would need ~1200XP per level between levels 51 and 350 and would put us at level 207 which means, we would get a total of 13500G. Now that would put me back on the paying customer side of the game for sure.
EDIT: So, @Torgal did a much more comprehensive version of my work. Then again, I made these calculations in around an hour and using very basic parameters. This also makes me understand how poor my Excel skills are xD
While in the past Changeling has only appeared on Shapeshifters (and we can assume it will continue to only appear on Shapeshifters), there are many Shapeshifters that don't have Changeling, including Glasspool Mimic.
Even if the mechanic didn't already exist, I doubt they'd change existing Shapeshifters to have the mechanic, there are just too many. Even only on Arena there's like 5 at least. With MtG being a physical card game they just don't like to do errata if they can help it.
Excited to see Changeling here though, I've never played with it myself and it seems like such great glue for any random tribal deck you're trying to make happen.
Yeah, it is quite a neat portrait. I'm only skipping it because I rarely play warrior and I have always disliked using Garrosh to represent me (he's mush too brash and arrogant for my tastes), so being honest with myself, I'd never use it.
I have been the subject of many, MANY downvote mobs even when i was making obvious jokes(i made a joke about an otk using 2 cards from 2 different classes, i proceeded to be downvoted into oblivion because people didn't understand that the fact it was impossible to generate both cards was the joke.) and it doesn't matter.
On the topic of downvoting people when they are making a joke, sometimes the joke isn't funny, sometimes the joke is inappropriate, maybe it is too obscure and people don't get it, maybe people don't appreciate the sarcasm. There are many reasons someone would want to downvote a joke, and just because you made a joke doesn't mean people have to like it. I am not talking about you specifically, this is just something I have seen people complain about before and I just want to get my opinion out there.
On the topic of up-votes and down-votes in general, I think SykoMyke is on to something. It would be interesting to just remove the voting system on comments altogether and just have people express their opinions verbally. We would keep it for decks so that we could sort them by popularity and show the hottest decks on the front page, but for comments a voting system simply isn't necessary.
A few random thoughts. We have the Kaya planeswalker, because of course, and BW Angels, RW Vehicles/Equipment, UG Shapeshifters, UR Giants, and BG Elves. And the four modal dual-faced land combinations we didn't see in Zendikar. And at first glance the cards look pretty strong, right? I wonder how Pyre of Heroes works in an Orah sac/clerics type deck?
Edit: and another random thought. How does Glasspool Mimic work along with these new Shapeshifters? Will Glasspool Mimic work with Absorb Identity? Will Glasspool Mimic get the Changeling keyword and be all of the types (which would seem weird given the text calls out how it remains a Shapeshifter Rogue), or will there be Shapeshifters with and without the Changeling keyword that work differently?
Looking at my old notes, I must've edited the deck I initially beat Supremus with and forgotten to add enough cards.
Given that two expansions have been released since (which I imagine can be used here), Wave of Apathy and Palm Reading would be my favourites for the empty spot.
Assuming we're talking about guardians: it's hard to say for sure without knowing which ones are in question but some of them have been part of event rewards. I think all of those have required purchasing the event pass to obtain them. Can't think of any other that could be considered as rewards.
I don't have it and have not seen a youtube video showing his emotes, but I expect they are currently the normal ones. However, I believe the intent was to make all Book of Heroes portraits have new emotes eventually.

I just clicked the link to hearthcards, and the dropdown had 10 for each class plus 45 neutrals. I just assumed the numbers were accurate.

I believe there is an error in the chart at level 1.
I am pretty sure you start at level 1 not level 0. So your Total XP (XP earned) at level 1 should be 0. You got level 1 without earning any XP.
Should be:
The columns for Total XP and Total XP (old) should be adjusted down 1 row. This would make more since when reading the chart.
Just my opinion.

What about the xp/hour? I've heard the 400/hr isn't accurate in reality due to queue times etc and is closer to 300/hr

Here's simple table in Google Sheets where you can compare gold gain in all iterations of Rewards Table with old system (according to your playstyle):
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wXg1HLBM1mLohvsqefQ3wfofeMBtpo_Q/edit#gid=1951440614
Just save it to your Google Drive and fill info about game length, winrate and time played daily and pick version of Rewards track.
I do not factor XP from achievements and duels and assume 1000 XP per day from daily quests.
