I just have a little question I want to ask here, because I don't have a satisfying answer for myself.
After 2 finished custom expansions I wanted to try something new and started with a custom class. The class itself is focussed around minions as their winning condition. Spells buff their minions or clear enemy minions out of the way.
Now my question: Which Hero Power is the most balanced one out of these 6 (and a half) iterations?
[1 Mana] Deal 1 damage to a minion.
[1 Mana] Deal 1 damage to a random enemy.
[1 Mana] Deal 1 damage to a random enemy minion.
[2 Mana] Deal 2 damage randomly split among all enemies (enemy minions?)
[2 Mana] Deal 2 damage to a random enemy.
[2 Mana] Deal 2 damage to a random enemy minion.
I want to make the Hero Power as simple as possible. I had some very different approaches before the 6 I showed you here. But they were way to complicated as a Hero Power (I think?).
Here comes my idea. This time it was kind of challenging to think of something fiting, to be honest.
Yeah another dwarf, but I was kind of disappointed that they had prefered to choose a Tauren or a plenty of Night Elves as teachers (did not make much of a sense lore-wise) and not a single dwarf (my guess was Paladin/Warrior back then).
This minion also references the Doyle clan of Wildhammer Dwarves, which was unfortunately wiped out in WoW: Cataclysm so we never had the chance to see them anywhere (except one in Battle for Azeroth).
From the gameplay standpoint in highlander hunter it is quite strong with Siamat (Rush/Windfury/Divine Shield all at once) and also King Krush (Maybe that is a bit too strong, but I have not seen a Highlander playing Shan'do Wildclaw with Dinotamer Brann a single time.)
Shaman would not have to rely just on a Neutral Beasts, beacause they have acces to [Hearthstone Card (The Lurker Bellow) Not Found].
Alternative Design - Cheaper Mana Cost, but the effect is only for one turn - easier to track the effect: 2 mana 3/2 - Battlecry: Give the next Beast you play this turnWindfury and the next Elemental Rush.
First idea for this week. I'd like to do something with the Deathrattle synergies of Hunter and Rogue since I like that archetype very much. What do you think?

I've been a big fan of your last Edwin card and this one looks cool as well. As the others have already pointed out, it might be too strong, but I don't know how to tone it done right now.

I like your idea! You could make the second part of the effect +2/+1 instead, since an aggressive buff would be more fitting for Hunter.

I like the flavor very much. The name, the art, the classes all fit perfectly together. The effect looks fair, so all in all it's a great card.

An interesting idea, I like the concept. The problem is, it's probably not strong enough, since your opponent would usually decide when to kill it. You could consider giving it rush and maybe raise the mana cost a bit to avoid abusal. You should definitely change the watermark.

The Amalgam is cute, but the elemental looks more interesting. The one issue I see with the latter is that it looks more like a Druid / Shaman card which would not be okay with this week's theme. :(

The flavor is there, but the effect is too specific for my taste. If you don't draw this early, it's wasted.

Nice idea. Maybe change the textbox a bit, having the "a"s at the end of the first two lines and the orphan at the end looks a bit awkward.

Welcome aboard! This is a really strong card, but in an interesting way. It's probably OP as it is, but if you raise the cost to 9 it might be okay. You could still fully heal with Voodoo Doctor that way.

Super versatile, super interesting combination of too very different classes, my favorite card so far. 5 stars!
Apparently there's a new exodia OTK mage in standard that just freeze and freeze until they can drop their apprentices and boost Mokazi to ridicilous levels and burn your face with >14 damage Frostbolts. I encountered it for the first time yesterday and I already hate it.
Card I made a while ago, I think it would fit smoothly

Wandering Monk:
Formatting - no mistakes
Flavor/idea - Don’t really see the connection between the character and these classes, and since that’s the point of the theme… CRITICAL FLAW (-2 stars)
Balance - I’m not sure Hunter would run this in hopes of a desperate 2 damage AoE and have it be a nuisance the rest of the time. Same idea with Priest (-1 star)
Rating: 2/5
Edwin, the Revolutionary:
Formatting - no mistakes
Flavor/idea - Love it! The flavor really fits with the classes, and the idea is very cool.
Balance - I think it’s OP honestly. That Rush part is too much IMO… plus the text would look much better and spaced out if you removed it (-1 star)
Interesting concept, but most of the damage in Warlock comes from spells, or the minions you'd want to play with this (Pit Lord) are too expensive to play it on the same turn. And this is pretty useless in Paladin.
Really good concept, not sure about the balance. You always play this in Discolock, and on 10 mana, it's just a 4/5/6 with Taunt. Either make it a 5/5, or remove Taunt.
Oh, this is really nice! I like the design a lot. Autoinclude in Even Shaman. Maybe make it a 3/4, since 6 mana for 6/8 worth of stats seems a bit much.
There's no real point for the Baby Amalgam to be exclusive to 2 classes, and it's really understated. I like the Elemental more, but I think it would be better with 5 health on heal, 6 mana and remove the damage to the enemy minion.
Wondering Monk is interesting. You mentioned Obelisk, but it'd also work with Dinomancy in a Beast Hunter package. Edwin is also cool, but I fear he's too easy to trigger. If you Combo him, you basically win the game.
Man, all those cards made me realise how much design space there is with dual class cards. I really hope Blizz returns to this one day.
OP, you'll be back after the next set of changes or expansion because it'll seem that the meta will be different. And you need to see for yourself if anything changed.
So stop kidding yourself - you won't quit HS forever. The game has been like you describe it since they introduced the idea of "standard" (with a few changes here and there when control decks were successful).
Paladin gets a choose one effect, while druid gets some stats setting that paladin normally gets, such as Humility and Keeper of Uldaman. The effect is not particularly efficient but very versatile, either by buffling a friendly minion or weakening an enemy one in two ways.
Wandering Monk: It feels a little weird for hunter to damage friendly characters, but I like the idea of buffing the hero power in both of these classes that feels natural. Not to be nitpicky, but hearthstone doesn't support target more than one target at a time, so it would be better to put "affects" instead of "targets".
Edwin, the Revolutionary: I like the card a lot. It's interesting for Rogue, and maybe not as interesting for Paladin (its probably going to be in every pure paladin deck).
shaveyou: Priest doesn't have a lot of beasts to target, but other than that good card!
KANSAS: I'm not exactly sure how this card works. I think it works like Star Student Stelina, where you pick one of three options and the replaced card ends up in your opponent's hand and not yours. If that's the case, you might want to change the wording to be more in line in that.
BloodMefist: I like the flavor and creativity. You could add more health to make it a little stronger, as it also makes the deathrattle harder to activate. The word attack needs to be capitalized.
bananenparty: Baby Amalgam is too underpowered imo, as neutral 0 mana 1/1s come with a tribe. I also don't see a good reason why this isn't a neutral card.
Bipolar Elementalis interesting, though I don't like the name. The healing option is much weaker than the damage option. I could see this at 6 mana and not be overpowered. The word one and the word health on the card text needs to be capitalized.
Elfensilver: The word down in the card title and rush in the card text needs to be capitalized. I think the card is a bit narrow, as you need a lot of one drops to be useful, but it could be useful in an aggro deck.
Demonxz95: Very cool card! I've seen this effect a lot in the Hearthcards gallery, so I'm not sure if it would affect how people vote on it. Nice catch on making this even cost.
MrRhapsody: I think you need to specify that it destroys one of your mana crystals and not your opponents (that would make it op) and that it discards a random card unless you're intending for you to choose which card to discard.
RealJC1234TheToonist: It's good to see you here :) I'm happy to see new people making their own custom cards! It looks like you've submitted your card already. You can't change the card after its submitted, so you should wait until after feedback is given next time before submitting.
That being said, I think the card is very interesting. I think it could use a bit more stats since the card needs to be built around to take advantage of the effect.
Best wishes to you. I think it was a good call to leave your collection as is that way if you do decide to come back and play it will be there. That being said, I too have grown tolerant of the game that I once loved. I have been playing some Starcraft II but my life situation doesn't really allow for much more than Hearthstone. The game has become more of a habit than a joy. I try to realize that Hearthstone is just a game and doesn't really provide much escape from the horrors of 2020. I hate this year. This year has become "my private nightmare." Well, YourPrivateNightmare, I wish you the best.
I will miss your tag line: I tried having fun once. It was awful.
Some are absolutely going to be super power houses. The blue counterspell will likely be a staple in most mono-blue decks. Some of them are great tools to avoid dead draws. I think you'll see a lot, though many of them for specialized decks.
Sky Ruins is yum. Great way to reclaim a board. Think it's too hefty in cost for mono white unless it's a heavy control deck, possibly with the new auto-win angel card.
This is my first submission. I'm really excited to participate!
After seeing the artwork for Demonic Thanatos and how much it looks like a nathrezim, I made a redeemed nathrezim like Lothraxion as a Warlock/Paladin card. Karaak, Legion Redeemer can mitigate the damage of self-damage Warlock and give more options for self-heal Paladin (such as Rastakhan).
Talking about good or bad design is difficult if you do not know what something was designed for in the first place. I personally am not thrilled about Call of the Mountain. I do not like RNG , i am not a fan of cards like Aurelion Sol , and i do not enjoy games that i win or lose almost regardless of what i have been doing.
If this expansion was designed to cater to my needs, than that was poorly done. But i give Riot some credit and will assume that there is another crowd out there (most likely consisting of people that spend actual money) that expects effortless wins, BIG plays, smashing combos and ridiculous RNG swings.

Know any deck tracker for mobile (Android) for hearthstone?
