Scourge of the Skyclaves is up there for my favorite cards this set solely because of its interaction with Nethroi. Nothing is more fun than reading "total 10 power" and then saying "haha nah I'm going to get 30 total power" in Commander.
It's kinda Blue's thing. Control, bounce, counter, draw, flying. It's like playing HS and complaining warriors are getting new weapons.
That being said a one mana counter is pretty damned powerful. Even before the party mechanic it's disruptive as hell to tempo and rush game that plays mostly on curve till they're spent.
Pirates aren't traditionally Paladins, but to be honest I came up with the name first and thought it worked pretty well, plus Paladin is already a Weapon class, so a splash of piracy couldn't hurt!
The card itself takes inspiration from Sharkfin Fan, with the effect happening on attack, requiring a weapon for Paladin's to trigger this helps reinforce the pirate archetype, even if there are no other Paladin specific Pirates...
... BONUS CARD!
I just couldn't resist.
It was a real challenge to fit the effect I wanted into the small space of a Hearthstone card, I spent a while fiddling with my wording before settling on this.
It's not perfect, but essentially I'm trying to convey a card similar to Libram of Wisdom or Explorer's Hat, where Pepe will, upon the death of whatever minion he is currently atop, fly to another. Essentially a +1/+1 buff that stays on the board until there is no minion to jump to, or it is silenced.
Next, a Scholomance dual class Priest/Warlock Spell.
Thanks for the response! I assume that you probably stopped playing during one of the elusives metas before Rising Tides, because since then they have introduced a lot more card draw and removals. On card draw, Bilgewater and Targon both have a considerable amount of it, and more card draw was added to Ionia, PnZ, Freljord, and Shadow Isles (if you include the new cards that tutor specific champions that also includes Noxus). At this point, Glimpse Beyond is a fair and balanced card, that’s how much more card draw there is. In terms of removal, Noxus now has a deal 3 spell, Freljord has the Vulnerable keyword to take out units, Bilgewater also has Vulnerable, and Targon can generate removals with Invoke cards.
Free spells and more free spells. I'm really not a fan of this format.
If I go 7 wins in the first trial, but then like 2 or 3 wins in the 2nd trial….does it take my 2nd trials results over my 1st trials for the rewards (regarding cards/capsules/shards?).
I for one will miss your contributions to the forums and your awesome decks/guides and comments. Take care and good luck! Hope we'll see you back before too long :).
Jokes aside, I can understand your frustration, but you should probably consider trying to tune your deck to hyper aggro if you don't get Targon in your draft expedition.
They have too many ways to stabilize. Most elisives have only 2 power, so Lunari Shadestalker can block, take a few points of your nexus, then block again. It's a perfect card in the format.
But I think Solari shieldbreakerBADCARDNAME is the most annoying card against aggro. It can block anything when powered up, it trades with almost everything aggro, and it stops fearsome cards.
But in the mirror, it often came down to who got a Falling Comet out of Invoke. When I finally lost, it was a game where I didn't get any but my opponent did. RNG plays a big part in the mirror. Though last time my choices were a bunch of Demacis cards that didn't work very well.
Expeditions are like the Arena I guess? I haven't tried them yet, but lord, i hate me some Arena, and I don't exactly love Runeterra these days, so it sounds like a match made in hell, haha.
You post on every thread on this forum. You're not quitting hearthstone xD. Man it's is just a game, enjoy playing a couple of games in your free time and don't take it so seriously.
I have brought this up to the staff. I believe that even if this doesn't necessarily improve their chances of winning (as hypothetically, they should end up with nearly the same exact score), I believe a DQ is warranted here off of simply the intention of cheating.
Why are you afraid? Reno Priest is highly favoured against Big Shaman and that deck will be all over meta. Quest Mage might try to counter the Reno, but Kingsbane will eat alive and Reno can tech Illucia against any combo and live 'till it draws her. Even Kingsbane might run double Sap to deal with Big Shaman in case it might try to prey on aggro preying on combo decks. Big Shaman will be bad until it highrolls, but that can be like 20% percent of matches and that's not good for ladder.
In what ways do you think that LoR is based on swing plays? The only example of that I can think of is “They Who Endure” and maybe “Swain/Leviathan.” I do agree that in general there are relatively few removal options compared to the number of threats, but I think that makes gameplay interesting because your power cards don’t get removed the turn they are played. I’d love to hear your thought process because that problem wasn’t even really on my radar.
perhaps my juddgement is still based on outdated information, but when I played it for a while when it first came out I got into these situations of "my opponent plays a snowballing a threat and I have an answer. They have a counter to that answer. I can never get rid of that threat and will therefore lose. What was I even supposed to do there?" way too often.
Even just simple things like a Garen or a Greenglade Duo. The problem I have with LoR is how easy it is to protect your own stuff vs killing your opponent's stuff. It's what made me return to Hearthstone afterwards, because in Hearthstone there used to be this unspoken rule of "there's always an answer to everything (usually)". Now that's basically gone from HS as well.
Maybe things have changed since I left, but looking at all that Targon stuff I just don't think so. I just don't like playing a game where I rely on one or two cards to answer certain threats, but said cards are easily countered by 3 more cards in my opponent's deck. It also doesn't help tht the nexus total is only 20 so coming back when behind just isn't as likely...not to mention that card draw is sparse in most decks so digging for answers is rarely an option.
I'd say your judgement is outdated. There are plenty of tools to kill stuff on the board and help you progress to the late game (if that's your plan). In Runeterra it doesn't come down to spells only. You can challenge, force blocks, stun and so on.
@OT I quit Hearthstone before the release of this expansion and haven't looked back since. My biggest thing about Hearthstone is that you either have to play a lot or spent a lot of money to have a big collection. And buying e.g. 50 packs for way too much money can end up giving you absolutely nothing of value for your collection.
To me Runeterra is much more fair, and while I have spent a bit of money to start my collection, it has not been nescessary for me to buy anything to have a almost full collection after the new expansion was released.
There's a typo in the name of one of them ("Scourage Vanguard"). I'd guess someone went to the lengths of creating a second account to correct this. Probably means DQ for both. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a ban from future competitions either, since participating (maybe even voting) with multiple accounts comes as close to cheating as you can get with this. We'll see what the referees say.

Yeah, not playing expeditions anymore.
I tried, but Meteor Shower and Crescent Strike wreck me. I was going with an agressive elusive aggro. But they can use The Trickster to block and The Golden Sister and The Immortal Fire stop you dead in your tracks.
