For cards where the effect is clearly powerful, mana buffs mean more than stats. If I could play willow out on turn 4, even as a 0/1, its still going to be objectively better than as a 7/7 on 9 in a vast majority of cases.
If there weren't already better ways to cheat out demons, for far cheaper, already you would be correct. But as it is its not.
It can hardly be called as an "Event"... but, I can see some positives :P
It's nice to have a month-long "roadmap" - so we know what is happening and when :)
I like to know in advance, when Brawliseum will appear, because I can organize my plans, do some things in real life earlier or later, to have more time for Brawliseum. Usually, new Brawl is a surprise, and in the past, I missed Brawliseum, because I just didn't have the time at that moment.
Personally I don't care about BGs, but surely it's a great feature, highly expected.
you're right, it's 10 free packs, which is nice, but the packs pool from what's in the standard rotation, meaning that some classes will have less or more cards to pool from for their class packs.
10 classes = 10 months, we start in September, go to October and November which will have Classic, Year of the Dragon and the current Year of the Phoenix expansions. Then December is when the next expansion will be and new cards will be added to the rotation pool, which will be in January, Febraury and March class packs. April is when the new Year starts, which will remove the Year of the Dragon cards from standard, leaving a new expansion, which will be in the class packs for May and June.
So the first 3 classes will have about 80 cards in the standard rotation pool to draw from. The 4 classes that will have their packs after the next expansion will have like, 130 cards in the rotation pool? Finally the last 3 classes will have less cards in standard rotation to pool from, most classes get 10 new cards, and around the 50 from the leftover rotation so about 60.
What's more, the class packs that are given to us in the next year will have the new standard cards that Blizzard discussed in the AMA last month, so the last 3 classes will potentially have more valuable cards in their packs than the previous classes.
phaseshifter- matron is pretty consistent with Targon because it also hits sisters. So you get an 8/8 fearsome a 4/3 ephemeral with lifelink and a 4/3 elusive non ephemeral that's a 3 body play. But you should mul it at the start.
General - Taric is well designed, he might need a point of health like Shen, even a small tweak like that would make him far better.
Additional Notes- Dianna needs to be a 2/3 or 3/2 otherwise as a 2/2 challenger she's literally just a bird and she's worse than Elise and Lucian
Nocturne is kind of just a skitterer so the best decks just run skitterer instead and use stalking shadows to grab a bunch, make his ability -2/2 and only be able to go off once a turn
Leona I suggest becomes a 4/4 leveling to a 5/5 so she is basically Yasao levels of good because she functions in a similar stun and swing fashion.
Not saying this will fix Targon but it would be an okay start.
So mobalytics has finally gotten solid meta rankings for the call of the mountain meta.
I think i said it a thousand times already but Mobalytics isn't exactly a reliable source of information.
Facts i know for sure: 1- They are again missing a top S tier deck: Vi/Ezreal. Some players at Top 10 Master rank have 60%+ winrate with it. 2- Deep monsters is very good against Aurelion Sol decks but very weak versus almost every agro deck in the meta (and there are plenty). So its ranked way higher then it should be. 3- Overwhelm Taric is stronger then many decks in that list but didn't make it for some reason. 4- The only thing holding Endure back is Hush. If Targon is not massively present at top tier spots, then Endure should also be a S tier deck.
I feel decks that are good but not very popular doen't even have a chance to show up on their radar.
Hey Hearthstone, I'm Silver #10. Why do you insist on matching me with other players with legendary cardbacks who play nothing but Reno Priest and Darkglare Warlock? And why do they draw like the nuts?
Also: Playing Darkglare into Explosive Runes gives you the 2 Mana Refresh. Bet my opponent knew that when they played into the trap in round 4 with 4 mana available and could immediately play the other Darkglare they had in their hand with the refresh.
This Meta seems Arrright to me. While it might be sad for some rampers that their archetype gets dunked, i really like that the meta shifted back to basically pre targon state and that the new mechanics (that are in general not my favourite) did not get too much success however: some of the newly added cards need to be kept an eye on. Especially nightfall and hyper nox+si seems very underestimated to me. Aside from that i think Taric combo is a list to be discovered since it comes with huge gameswinging plays past turn 6 what is just too slow right now but could get more effective with better control options for the early game and p&z's removal getting buffed. What is that region's identity aside of Ezreal after Invalid Deck ID getting erased from the meta.
It might not be. This seems to be separate from expansions, likely with a class getting one each month (perhaps except months where new sets are released, which would help the 10 classes span 12 months). It still looks possible to have a proper SA adventure next month, and I hope we do as the cards themselves don't really address the darker side to the school properly.
So is this the solo adventure for Scholomance? Cause if so I feel a bit sad by it, this is cool but I was really hoping to be able to go and do some damage inside Scholomance
I picked some different art and a new name for my submission. Balance wise, I think it’s fine for Shaman to Coin or Lighting Bloom and get a 3-drop turn 1. Other classes can pull off crazier turn 1 plays. Plus Overload and terrible card draw limit their ability to push.
“He’s got nowhere to go but up! Unless he becomes a gnome. Or goblin. Or..”
KANSAS - If the Battlecry is duplicated, it will only kill with one of the pings, so it’ll only get 2 health. The doubled Battlecry just lets you kill 2-health targets. It’s a cute balanced card but not sure it will stand out much.
Mr. Rhapsody - Would this make all 3 Arcane Missiles hit the target, or just the first one? Cool card.
Arden - Love it. 2/1 or 1/2 statline might be fine, but I wouldn’t give it more than that, since the Companion has above average stats.
Nirast - A 1/2 and 1/1 on turn 1 is very strong, and it’s bonkers in an odd Paladin deck. There’s also no dude synergy in Scholomance so it’s not thematic.
go to the southernmost part of a small English town called Glenrock. There you will meet a man who will introduce himself as "Mr. Porter". He will ask you for the time and you have to answer "it is a bit windy today, isn't it?", after which he will give you a suitcase with a picture of a dove engraved on the handle. The combination for the lock is 2805. In it you will find the 5 dollars you need to buy the damn skin.
FINALLY! A new Mage Hero, because there are so few to choose from... smh.... at least it's not a Shaman.
When do we get a new Rogue one, Vanessa van Cleef or Tess, maybe? The 1000 win Valeera is a joke and just a miserable costume.
And I guess Battleground Parties is the "New" Game Mode from their Roadmap? Kinda cool feature, if you want to play with and against your friends but not really anything new. Overall a little disappointed.
I think it is a little early to celebrate. There is a good chance MTG Arena on mobile mighr not happen the way people want it to. When you consider how much people spend on this game, its its likely that Hasbro is not going to want to give up huge profit shares to Apple or Google. Also with how shady the app store policies are now there is going to have to be huge concessions somewhere in order for MTG Arena not to go they way of Fortnight in a legal debacle. If Epic Games wins their lawsuit against Apple and Google its also a win for MTG Arena.
For cards where the effect is clearly powerful, mana buffs mean more than stats. If I could play willow out on turn 4, even as a 0/1, its still going to be objectively better than as a 7/7 on 9 in a vast majority of cases.
The reason why darkglare was broken was because you can tap for free, generate free mana without setup, and generally dump your hand. In many cases, this will come together in conjunction with getting the Hand of Gul'dan effect out without spending any extra mana, then proceed to dump your hand. Take that away, and darkglare literally does nothing. There's only so many cards you can play before you run out of stuff. Now that there's only 2 ways to gain a net positive of mana (and you need both to get expired merchant out for no loss of mana), it reduces darkglare's power considerably.
The only reason why its been changed to 2 mana is to leave a chance* (and a very low one at that) that you can have both out on turn 4 and proceed with the usual business. But from my experience, even with hand of guldan drawing like the wind you will only very rarely have that option available on turn 4-5, and theres no chance you dont play cards like tour guide until you draw them both.

I don't know if the 8+ gimmick is ever going to be good and reliable. It doesn't give you good ways to make up for having dead cards early.
Unless I missed something.

[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
From what I've seen they're not necessarily excluded, just uncommon since they're much more obscure, especially the ones from boss runs.
O I L W A V E
Indeed I updated with the Secret Package instead of Stealth!
Not completely sure it is for the best, but it is surely for the most fun, since Secrets can generate shenanigans capable of winning nearly any games.
I also added more Combo power.

All the single player adventure modes as of late feel extremly boring with zero to no replay value...
