  • A Wild Hearthstone Weekend Featuring Big Warrior, Mecha'thun Rogue, Combo Warlock, and More!

I gotta try that Warlock combo with Darkglare and Pen Flinger.  Like everyone else, I've been playing around with it in Shaman to exploit it's coordinated punches like Knife Juggler, but that looks much more fun

I know that the game was somewhat late the previous night, but still enough time to wake up bf america's start i would think. Feel bad for Firebat as he is my fav grandmaster in that he will often take risks on decks/card inclusions the others wouldn't.  Sometimes it works brilliantly, others it flops, but it's part of the appeal.

I think one solution to this would be to actually start the America's GM at the same time every day (11am or 12pm Central time maybe?) regardless of when the other region finishes(the actual gameplay).  And then stream the games on a delay as the European region finishes. That way, the players run less of a risk of being stuck playing games at midnight and they will always know when to be available.  Blizzard may already be doing something similar to this and not make it known, but it couldn't hurt.

  • Fan Community Spotlight - Neoguli's Core Set Reworks - Part 1 (Warlock and Druid)

Great work and you're totally right about Warlock feeling messy in its current form, I'm looking forwards to seeing more custom class reworks and eventually the official ones.
Hope someone from Blizz is taking notes as warlock is definitely a big one on the cards for a rework - pun intended.

Huge fan of Bane of Doom but in its the current form it's way to RNG - I would love to see it toned down for more playability. Perhaps 3 mana deal 2 damage, if it dies summon a random demon that costs 3 or less.

  • Custom classic and basic overhaul v2

Well this went as well as I thought it would and regarding the typos, I really don't know how they got there also card images is a planned thing, regarding the power level of certain cards, I might not be the most insightful person regarding that hence the post, to gather an outside opinion.

I probably should put more details regarding the changes but here are some now to start.

Regarding not using rush, well there is no such thing in the classic set same thing with discover, lifesteal is also the case but I chose to overlook that partially cause it'd be really difficult to do some of these cards without it and realistically it would just get keyworded

Auctioneer - I considered leaving this one alone but I did buff the attack so it is a better minion overall and the health was something I wanted to leave alone due to the power level of the effect, he could probably be left alone but he hasn't seen play for awhile

Violet teacher - I didn't think the upside was too much but comparing it to other cards of the same cost in this I should probably just make it like a 3 mana 2/4 so it's effect is more useful when the card can be played

Brightwing - was one that I thought about a lot and though I considered just making it 2 mana I chose giving it an additional effect that seemed to fit

  • Aggro Enrage Warrior!

Amen - I appreciate all the content, and the well written guides!

  • Hearthstone Grandmasters 2020 Season 2 - Week 1 Results, Decklists, Disqualifications, and More!

It should be noted that the check-in time did not change. The start time of the match was bumped up, but it was Firebat's decision to ignore the check-in time. I'm not one to side with Blizzard on many issues, but rules are rules. There is certainly an argument to make adjustments here, but until then, just get up in time for the check-in, dude. As stated in other posts, there are plenty of examples in sports where the players have to adjust to a rapidly changing schedule. It's nothing new.

  • Hearthstone Grandmasters 2020 Season 2 - Week 1 Results, Decklists, Disqualifications, and More!

I'm as big a Firebat fan as anyone, but the rules are pretty clear. And they spent about an hour trying to contact him.

There's definitely room for both sides to improve here. Blizzard should probably figure out a way to keep to an actual schedule, even if something goes long. It's not that hard. The NFL, etc. do it all the time.

And Firebat should probably figure out a way to turn up the volume on his fucking phone so he can hear when Dan, TJ, and Simon are frantically calling him.

It totally sucks for him, in particular the fine. Especially b/c, looking at the rules, it feels more like a $500 fine rather than a $1000. He did show up. The decision "not to participate' was Blizzard's, not Bat's.

He was absolutely going to lose to Muzzy anyway.

  • Hearthstone Grandmasters 2020 Season 2 - Week 1 Results, Decklists, Disqualifications, and More!

Pretty unfortunate what happened to Firebat with all the time zone differences but at least Sottle made the effort to personally contact him. The $1000 fine is quite harsh to, but guess regulations need to be adhered to.

On a lighter topic, Magtheridon made it into GM! :O who would've thought!

    No, but close.

  • Stars marking missing cards in deck tripled

    Pro

Hi, I did  a quick search and it seems no one else reported this, but I'm getting triple stars for missing cards in the deck pages - ie. if i miss a copy in my collection I see 3 stars instead of 1, if I miss 2  there are 6 stars.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

Could it be The Storm Bringer?

  • Has anyone made a decent Standard Tempo Priest deck?

I tried a version with some deathrattles like Serpent Egg (to make a stickier board) and High Abbess Alura (for filtering) but the problem is the same: not enough card draw and losing the board once means game over. I wanted to experiment with Disciplinarian Gandling but i can't justify crafting him after my early experiments. He doesn't seem to be doing great either.

I find Voracious Reader to be more of a necessary evil than an actual good inclusion. The minion itself is pretty weak and sometimes the hand gets clogged with buff spells that are hard to get rid of to get a proper pay off from her ability. She can become really awkward to play from time to time. She seems to only be truly great in extreme low curve hyper aggressive decks that can just dump their hands very easily because of all the cheap cards. If you have any conditional cards (like buffs) that costs 4 or more then she can become really hard to play. Also, sometimes you just won't draw her at all. And the games end really fast. You either win very fast because of a big early game snowball or the opponent pushes you off the board and you run out of resources. The deck is full of terrible top decks.

Maybe it's a little early to completely write off the deck but so far it looks like a flop once again. The card draw issue is in my opinion too much of a back breaker for this archetype.

  • I think I fixed Quest Hunter

    Pro

I've been having a blast (and quite a few wins) with Quest Hunter since DoD came out. My deck runs King Krush, Beastmaster Leoroxx, Scavenger's Ingenuity and Ramkahen Wildtamer as a win condition. With a little luck, you can blast 36 to face on turn 10. I can share the list if anyone's interested.

  • Hearthstone Grandmasters 2020 Season 2 - Week 1 Results, Decklists, Disqualifications, and More!

I think we need to compare Firebat's issue with the way some sports are organised. In Tennis players need to be ready to play "after" a game is done, that could be 1 hour or even 4. So in that way, Firebat should've been ready when they told you, even though scheduled match was over an hour later.

That being said, the organisation needs to have someone check on the player to know if they are ready to play at least half an hour before the game... not that hard to do.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    Pro

    Nope, it's not an elemental.

  • I think I fixed Quest Hunter

Last season i almost made to legend using a Highlander version of Quest Hunter that i created. The deck traded the consistency of duplicates for the sheer power of the Highlander cards. Dinotamer Brann is a powerful finisher and is also two bodies in one card. Pre-nerf Dragonqueen Alexstrasza was three bodies in one card and Zephrys just does a lot of different things. I could also experiment with some slower cards like Nagrand Slam and it was a very powerful finisher with a great synergy with the quest. DH was the main problem that prevented me from achieving legend.

I tried rebuilding the deck but this meta has too many giant minions and mana cheating and the deck can't deal with all that stuff. Dragonqueen Alexstrasza is too slow and weak now and we don't have enough time to complete the quest or even get to 10 mana to play Nagrand Slam. I like the idea of having multiple Zixors but those giant boards and big high rolls are really discouraging. Professor Slate could be a decent tech against such big threats but he lacks support to do his job properly. It will take some serious meta shifts for the deck to become a stronger contender once again.

  • Aggro Enrage Warrior!

I'm trying to get 500 wins with Warrior.  Would you recommend this deck as a good way to do that? I'm rank 10 gold and have and 370 wins.

  • Hearthstone Grandmasters 2020 Season 2 - Week 1 Results, Decklists, Disqualifications, and More!

The Firebat call was still terrible on Blizzards part. Bumping forward a schedule without proper notice, only to dq AND fine someone for missing out? It’s ridiculous..

  • Lulu Buffs

I like the idea of a support deck with the new expansion, and I'm quite sure that there will be a competitive build of one.

This particular build has at least two issues, however. 1) Pix! is a card that is absolutely terrible without Lulu, so that probably makes it more-or-less unplayable, because having Lulu will be inconsistent. 2) You absolutely cannot play Allegiance (Kinkou Wayfinder) when you have 12 off-region cards; if you're playing Allegiance, the most cards you can have in your off-region is 6, and even that is pushing it.

  • Has anyone made a decent Standard Tempo Priest deck?

The most promising Aggro version I built is this one:

    SA Aggro Priest

    Wild · Aggro Priest · by meisterz39 · 6 years, 1 month ago

Power Word: Shield with Intrepid Initiate is a 1 mana 3/4, and it has plain synergies with Sethekk Veilweaver, but it is weak enough as a top-deck that I couldn't convince myself to run two copies. I've really liked Soulbound Ashtongue in the deck, both as another way to activate Brittlebone Destroyer on curve, and also as a way to make Flesh Giant cheaper (this is particularly effective when you put Apotheosis on him). I think the Flesh Giant is a pretty important inclusion. I tried Devout Pupil (in place of as well as in tandem with Flesh Giant), but I found that it was often not impactful enough. Flesh Giant, on the other hand, can be a really strong top deck, and since card draw is so limited and there's no direct face damage anymore, you need to have powerful threats like that to close the game out before your hand dries up.

I still find that it's easy to run out of resources, though, even with Sethekk Veilweaver and Voracious Reader, since there's really no way even just cycle single cards to help improve the odds of drawing one of those two minions.

I tried a version of this that ran the quest package. Obviously that's a risky endeavor - drawing the quest on turn 1 means worse odds to get your powerful 1-drop into buff play. (Note that you don't want to play the Quest on turn 1.) That enabled me to swap out Kul Tiran Chaplain for Questing Explorer for more cycle, and helped make getting 1-drops back from Raise Dead feel less bad, since in the mid to late game I'd have a buffing hero power. Ultimately I didn't like it more than this one, but that's how desperate I've been to try and find more card draw. (I've also considered running Mass Dispel, but I think that would be more valuable to clear taunts and push lethal than it would be as cycle.)

I've also tried versions that focus more on buffs, like the various buffs that copy minions. But without access to decent rush minions, I often found that those cards were too low impact to run in the deck. I'm often happy to take Psyche Split off of Renew, but without really strong synergies like Zerek, Master Cloner, I didn't think running it in the deck made sense. (Archmage Vargoth can still be good synergy for that spell, but I think at that point you're running a very different deck.)

The midrange version I've had some success with is this one:

A big part of why I wanted to build this version was that I often found Raise Dead to be too low impact in the aggro version (as indicated above with the Quest tests). Sometimes it gives you back key minions, but oftentimes it just gives you weak 1-drops for which you have no more buffs. Even Voracious Reader can be bad to get back since the card draw all comes at the end of your turn, which is often too late in the midgame when you're desperate for more resources.

So, in this version I'm still running the 1/4 1-drops, but with the higher curve I've cut Voracious Reader. I also cut the 1-drops that die to Backstab. I've got Cleric of Scales to find buffs a bit more effectively (by keeping the number of different spells low, this card works wonders for tutoring exactly what you want). I've also got extra card generation thanks to Cobalt Spellkin. Priest has a lot of relevant 1-drop spells for a Dragon Tempo deck, so that card does a lot of work. I've also got 1x Onyx Magescribe in there as a little extra power if things go sideways in the mid to late game. The 2x Dragon Breeder is in there for the same reason I tried a Quest package in aggro - there's just not enough card draw in Priest, so any extra resources are a blessing. I could imagine swapping them for something like Wandmaker so you don't need to wait for a Dragon in play to get the value. And depending on how many Rogues you're seeing on ladder, I could also see a case for swapping something for another copy of Breath of the Infinite to deal with stealth boards.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

Seems it could be any elemental. Let’s go with Earth Elemental

  • What's on your Achievement wishlist?

Well i am kinda excited about the achievement system even tough we do not realy now right now how it will work or what the achievements will be. I kinda hope it will be some sort of XboxAchievement/PS Trophy System with some rewards.

  • Has anyone made a decent Standard Tempo Priest deck?

Well , almost every expansion i try some sort of Aggro Buff Priest. This time it realy looked promising. My first build was this one:

It is doing ok but not as strong as i hoped. It surely can and will be refined. Now im trying a few different lists - also feel like the new 0 Mana Spell could work pretty decent in this one. If you have a good opening with following buffs it can destroy the opponent early on - but once the get control of the board and trade well you're pretty much done.

It is a nice deck but i would not recommend it to try to climb up the ladder.

  • Scholomance Buff Priest

It's doing ok but not as good as i hoped but i will try more or other minions - or maybe the 0 Mana Spell that gives me back some minions.
