  • Get Two Scholomance Legendaries and 20 Non-Scholomance Card Packs for 20 Bucks in the Felosophy Bundle!

No bundle in shop for me.

I guess blizz doesn't want my money lol.

  • New Paladin & Priest Minion - High Abbess Alura

Just put this, Wandmaker and Tip the Scales in your murloc deck and you're good to go.

  • New Mage/Rogue Minion - Wand Thief

When compared with Pharaoh Cat, I don't think this minion actually stacks up that well. While the random card generation of Pharaoh Cat is a downside over Wand Thief, Cat makes up for that by being playable by itself on turn 1 and to activate combos later in the game. Wand Thief needs another card to get its power, which is not ideal in a 1 drop. On top of that Rogues have started to favor tempo over tempo in their 1 drops by cutting Pharaoh Cat for Spymistress. In Mage, I think Wand Thief makes less sense as combo is harder to trigger in Mage than in Rogue. Overall, I just don't see the role this serves besides some fringe Thief Rogue support.

  • A Look Back At Historically Overhyped Hearthstone Cards

The one that I remember most is [Hearthstone Card (Lakkari Sacrifice) Not Found]. It was hyped by a lot of streamers on youtube. It was supposed to be the best. I even spent dust to craft it. What a waste of dust.

  • New Rogue & Warrior Spell - Coerce

I see this as more of a Warrior card than a Rogue card, as Rogue cares more about tempo-based removal (i.e. Vilespine Slayer and Flik Skyshiv usually has a body along with the removal). In Warrior, I think this outclasses Bladestorm and Execute as removals as Coerce is less situational than Bladestorm and easier to remove a minion with than Execute. I think you just replace Bladestorm with Coerce in Bomb Warrior.

  • New Warrior Spell - Athletic Studies

This seems the best out of all the studies

  • New Paladin & Priest Spell - Wave of Apathy

Steal anything with the steal priest now that could be cool.

  • New Hunter Minion - Bloated Python

its kinda like a egg but reversed, instead of hatching into a beast or something it is the beast. which makes it very interesting you can take advantage of some different beast synergies before its "hatched" and get a good body when it dies.

  • Is It Time For 3 Ruinations?

Just a small thought proposition. It seems like most of the decks being played are either Demacia, or Freijord oriented both regions win the game by spamming the board with big dudes. If you counter this with a death rattle oriented shadow deck with 3 ruinations you seem to basically auto win 90 percent of the time. What do you guys think?

  • New Paladin & Priest Spell - Wave of Apathy

For both Priest and Paladin, I think they already have enough efficient removal that they'd just rather run those removal cards instead of this stall card. The only way I see this being included in a deck is if a combo deck in either class existed in a future expansion, that deck would love the 1 mana stall Wave of Apathy offers.

  • New Hunter Minion - Bloated Python

A Nerubian Egg that costs 1 more and is a beast. That's not a bad tradeoff as Bloated Python can curve into Mok'Nathal Lion and Houndmaster. The issue with the card is more of a deck context issue as I think Deathrattle Hunter synergies aren't as nearly powerful as Dragon Hunter synergies, which makes me think this will have its chance to shine after the next rotation.

  • The Collectible Tribute Cards of Hearthstone's World Champions

Babbling Book is so associated with Pavel in the minds of Hearthstone players that it was nicknamed and subsequently always referred to as Paveling Book after his championship win.

  • New Warrior Spell - Athletic Studies

If you're running this for the discover, I think you'd rather run a rush minion you actively want to run in your deck instead of choosing between 3 random rush minions. I also think the discount isn't that useful as most rush minions you want to run in Warrior are already low in cost. Maybe this makes sense down the line if a powerful high-cost rush minion is printed.

  • New Warrior Minion - Playmaker

I think that Coerce outclasses Playmaker as Coerce doesn't depend on a rush minion to work. Sure, you can get another Kargath Prime in your deck, but it takes some time for both cards to end up in your hand and 1 Prime is usually enough.

  • Jandice Barov

Ehh the art could be better more like jaundice barov.

  • New Mage & Shaman Spell - Primordial Studies

While you do have a few standout spell damage minions in either class such as the primes, most of the existing spell damage minions in standard are of poor quality. I also think there isn't much use for the discount other than Lab Partner to play Sorcerous Substitute on turn 6, but that is pretty inconsistent to occur by that turn. Primordial Studies is just inconsistent in both aspects of its effect.

  • A Look Back At Historically Overhyped Hearthstone Cards

I like this thread, it's really obvious to think about all cards that the community have been wrong about being too weak (*cough cough* Prince Keleseth, Zilliax, The Caverns Below, Skull of the Man'ari, Corridor Creeper, the list goes on) but overhyped cards are typically forgotten.

My predictions for overhyped cards this expansion are Glide and Star Student Stelina. Glide may be strong, but I highly doubt it's as insane of a control killer as people say. It's definitely going to punish ultra greedy plays and combo decks, but otherwise, it's not that detrimental. The card is awful against aggro since you give them refill, and they'll have 5 cards on their turn while you have 4. Considering slower decks that like hoarding their hand like Galakrond Priest, I think that with knowledge of this card existing, they will have to switch their gameplan and start being more frivolous with their resources. Obviously this isn't always the case, but on the flip side, think about how often you'd get the dream where you shuffle their entire hand full of board clears and removal into their deck and they draw 4 unplayable cards. It's a possibility, but the only time it's going to happen consistently is if you can easily dump your hand and play Glide on turn 4, while your opponent can't play any cards. Considering DH's current level of card draw and refill, this will only be played for its disruption effect, which I don't think is as valuable as people say.

In the case of Star Student Stelina, it's a more expensive Madame Lazul that's also conditional. This card has no tempo, and it's only valuable when you opponent has a few significant cards in their hand. If you're against a Spell Druid with 9 cards in hand, how often are you going to hit Kael'thas Sunstrider or Exotic Mountseller? And besides, if you do hit them, your opponent will just Glowfly Swarm you next turn because you spent 4 mana on a 4/3 which you could have spent on any other card that does something significant. Even in cases where getting rid of your opponent's card is good, those decks don't want to play a 4 mana 4/3. This card's fantasy of negating your opponent's big removal spell the next turn is like a much, much worse Loatheb; it's less consistent and has worse tempo. From what I've seen in the pre-release streams, both cards were clunky to play and clogged the hand more often than not.

Then again, these cards could be absolutely insane and warp the meta beyond space and time, but we'll have to see.

  • A Look Back At Historically Overhyped Hearthstone Cards

I like how - in most instance- dead wrong we all are in our predictions ^^

  • New Mage & Rogue Minion - Jandice Barov

I've seen her in some early access videos and been unimpressed.

  • A Look Back At Historically Overhyped Hearthstone Cards

I don’t remember Revenge of the Wild ever being overhyped, it always seemed like it sucked to me.

One interesting card I think people forgot was Dragonmaw Poacher. People were expecting DoD to be absolutely full of dragons and people hyped this card to insane levels... turns out it just sat as a dead card in your hand 9/10 times. Except in arena, fuck that.

  • Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Rogue Cards

Lilian doesn't have to be played in Stealth Rogue. It's a better Piloted Shredder, and any Rogue deck can play this. It's a card that your opponent has to remove, and its deathrattle makes it a problem in doing so. Worst case scenario, you use the 4 damage to clear something on the board, and the deathrattle clears another one; that's a pretty good swing in tempo. It's not an amazingly flashy card that has a huge board impact, it just looks like a solid card with a simple, solid effect. It reminds me of how people saw Zilliax as only decent because it didn't have great stats or a very strong effect.

That said, it's still possible that this card is trash.

  • Get Two Scholomance Legendaries and 20 Non-Scholomance Card Packs for 20 Bucks in the Felosophy Bundle!

I know what it's referencing, that doesn't mean I like it less

  • New Mage & Rogue Spell - Brain Freeze

I think Ray of Frost serves the cheap freeze role in Mage well enough already. Maybe it'll make more sense in the class after the next rotation. I also don't think it makes much sense in Rogue either as they have more efficient stall options with Sap and Blackjack Stunner. Overall, I don't see how this sees play before the next rotation.

  • New Rogue Spell - Secret Passage

This is gonna be nuts, I definitely think this is gonna see a nerf at some point. The effect is just... insanely good for any aggressive deck. Refill your hand to push through for that final finish? Sign me up.

  • Get Two Scholomance Legendaries and 20 Non-Scholomance Card Packs for 20 Bucks in the Felosophy Bundle!

I bet you're right that it was supposed to come out after the expansion release.  Which is nice because I can wait to see how many legendaries I still need/want.  With the 85 pack bundle, 5 from last month's end of season rewards, and the gold I have saved I will have around 200 packs to open on Thursday.  With those packs, the dust I have, and a bit of luck I should have almost everything.

If I do get this though, it would guarantee me three legendary minions as I've only ever opened around 6 of the Year of the Dragon packs, and I am pretty sure I didn't get a legendary yet.  Unless the "Year" packs don't guarantee one in the first ten.  Then never mind what I just said.
