  • New Neutral Minion - Sneaky Delinquent

Rogue only has Skyvateer at the moment as a 2 mana stealth minion to set up Greyheart Sage on turn 3. This is probably the only way I see this being included in a deck as it is powerful in increasing early game stealth synergy consistency for a potential Tempo Stealth Rogue.

  • New Paladin & Priest Minion - High Abbess Alura

Really good with a 0 mana spell to trigger the spellburst, which both classes now have. Priest gets Raise Dead and Paladin gets First Day of School.

In Paladin, I see this making the most sense in some Libram Paladins as you also have 0 mana copies of Libram of Wisdom to trigger and potentially get a free Libram of Hope. The potential issue with Alura in Libram Paladin is that you might pull Libram of Justice, which is a crucial card for the archetype needed for more specific circumstances.

In Priest, I see Cube Priest making Alura work with Raise Dead to pull out Psyche Split or Grave Rune earlier to push more tempo. This does mean the archetype might not be able to run removal spells like Penance or Shadow Word: Death, but I think the deck can shift to be faster to compensate, as Alura already does this.

Overall, Alura is a great legendary that requires some deck alterations for great chances at cheating out spells for free on their intended targets most of the time.

  • which deck will you start to play with ?

Mostly dependant of my pulls... Will craft more neutrals than class cards this expansion and also I am out of Argentine Pesos in my premoving bank account, so I cant buy anymore until I get a new job

Just read the assuming perfect pulls part, I will try Big Demon Hunter and both soul fragments. Also Spelldamage mage seems fun.

  • DreadKill's Libram Alura Paladin (Non-pure)

I really appreciate the guide thanks so much!

  • New Priest & Warlock Spell - Raise Dead

Raise Dead has great applications in both classes.

In Priest, the Cube Priest archetype can use this along with High Abbess Alura on turn 4 to pull out a buff card and gain serious tempo and pressure on the opponent. Also, Resurrect Priest might like this to gain more revivable threats in hand as a class that lacks card draw.

In Warlock, I think Brittlebone Destroyer and Flesh Giant work better in Warlock with the Soul Fragment package, and Raise Dead is a 0 mana trigger for both cards while also potentially adding more Soul Fragment synergy cards to hand.

Overall, I see efficient use cases for the spell in both classes, making it bound to see competitive play.

  • Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Rogue Cards

I was very disappointed when i opened Infiltrator Lilian as i'm not a fan of aggro strategies. But there's no way this card is bad. It has underwhelming stats but the stealth makes up for it. She can't be removed easily before she can attack and even if they manage to kill her she just comes back immediately with a vengeance. Either way, this is guaranteed damage no matter what. There's some deathrattle synergy potential as well. The card is not as flashy as others but guaranteed damage is always good.

  • which deck will you start to play with ?

Depends on what classes my dailies have me play for that day

Probably Big Warrior though. I love trying to make that deck work.

  • which deck will you start to play with ?

Whizbang the Wonderful, so all of them.

  • Shifty Sophomore

Might be good for stealth rogue

  • Runeterra Patch 1.7 - Tri-Region Singleton, New Spirit Blossom Quests, Expeditions Refresh on Thursdays, Deckbuilder UI Improvements

    Quote From Lucid4321

So it's safe to say we'll be getting the next expansion in three weeks, which will be the biggest one yet. A full new region with 6 champions and one new champion for each existing region, along with a bunch of followers and spells to go along with them.

I am anticipating 1.8 / Aug 28 to be ONLY the new region, its 5 new champions, and maybe 50-60 followers + spells just for that region.  I don't think we're going to get new cards for the current 7 regions until 1.10 / Sept 16, and that they are going to start trickling out at a staggered rate rather than release a full set of +1 champion to every region immediately.

  • Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Rogue Cards

If you have a Vulpera Toxinblade on the board and attack with the Self-Sharpening Sword, will the Toxinblade's +2 attack become permanent? I imagine not, but knowing how buffs act on minions when their attack and health are switched, I am permanently skeptical. Speaking of, though, there's a great idea for one of next season's Fan Creations Competitions - a card that switches your weapon's attack and health!

Fun, interesting, and ultimately useless interaction: Imagine if a Rogue has a Plagiarize up and a Plagiarize in hand when their opponent plays Mindrender Illucia. Could that be an infinite loop (with a cooperating player), or has my mind been ... rended ... by the complexity of things?

Secret Passage is absolutely bonkers, with just one drawback - (I assume) generated cards will be shuffled back into your deck as well. If you have a Passage in your deck, for instance, you don't want to run EVIL Miscreant. All you'd get when you play him from Passage is a worse deck and his soft, shitty body. That doesn't mean that the card is bad - it's definitely still real powerful, as Mr. Irwin would say - but it's a surprisingly effective drawback for Rogue, a class whose main strength at the moment is card generation. Secret Rogue and Aggro Rogue might want Secret Passage, but I don't imagine Galakrond Rogue will. Maybe. Maybe it's just too bleeping strong for that to matter.

Altogether, I wholeheartedly look forward to attempting a Combo Rogue and failing. For the third time.

  • Cheap day 1 DH

Yea I cant wait to see how it changes the meta for the better.

  • Cheap day 1 DH

I agree, and unlike the streamers I am quite hyped about Soul Fragment DH

  • A Look Back At Historically Overhyped Hearthstone Cards

    Quote From YourPrivateNightmare

We all know by this point that playing a Quest on turn 1 is a huge downside, so no tempo based quest deck ever succeeded. This is especially damning when your deck is made up of mostly 1-cost minions which drop in efficiency for every turn beyond the first.

This might be outside your definition of tempo, but I considered odd quest warrior to be both tempo-based and disgustingly successful.  Fire Plume's Heart had everything Marsh Queen didn't: the flexibility to build a competent deck and to incorporate other non-quest packages (odd & control in this case); single cards which could progress multiple ticks (militia, direhill, and stonehill defender); immediate impact on the board when completed (sulferas), and then the payout also has immediate impact every time you use it (new HP).  It's only "limitation" was that the meta was dominated by other even more disgusting decks (odd big spell mage; prince k zoolock, deathstalker Rexxar, etc), so it wasn't as prominent as it would be in the current meta.

  • What time is the xpac release?

Well at least I got more time to climb ladder before the release then.

  • Libram Authority Pure Paladin

I really enjoy the lightforged Pallys.

  • Scholomance Alumni Jaina

I wonder if Highlander decks will still be on the rise during the xpac.

  • Cheap day 1 DH

It's good to have some cheap decks available on day 1!

  • which deck will you start to play with ?

Lightforged Pally has been fun so I will probably pursue it although xpacs are a really good way to climb ladder quickly with aggro decks since people will be busy trying out the new #SHINY cards a spin.

  • What time is the xpac release?

    Are you serious >.<

  • Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Rogue Cards

I really don't see how Infiltrator Lilian is going to be played. Surely, if Stealth Rogue wants that statline, it'd run Jungle Panther, right? It has good, aggressive stats! But it doesn't run it. A deathrattle doesn't really make up for the twice lost tempo, the fact that a 4/2 Stealth is not good enough and the +1 mana on top of that. (not even considering the fact that it's a Legendary)

  • What time is the xpac release?

It's on Thursday this time. Fooled me, too!

  • What time is the xpac release?

I thought it normally starts after 1pm cst time zone but nothing has happened yet.  Anyone know a better timeframe?

  • Our Thoughts on Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Rogue Cards

The new combo cards (Coerce, Wand Thief and Brain Freeze) are all great to get, making the standard pool actually pretty solid on the whole. There are a couple of duds certainly, but I wouldn't put Headcrack or Perdition's Blade in that category. Both can be reasonably useful, and Headcrack especially can be a great card to generate if you are the aggressor in a given match-up.
