Its captain [Hearthstone Card (greenskin) Not Found], but with some upsides. It has rush, can trigger multiple times (assuming it survives), and can be copied for a double trigger, crucial things greenskin can't do.
But if your opponent's control, then this 50% of the time doesn't do anything. So greenskin still has a slight niche.
Good enough card, but I won't be rushing to craft it as long as greenskin still exist.
I think, this one will find a spot in some constructed decks in standard. It's a proactive Greenskin and who doesn't like big weapons with sweet effects :).
Big Sham takes more skill than you would think. Anyway, look at both decks' win rates. Ok I win this argument.
But thanks for the laugh
Quest Mage also takes more skill than you think.
WR are meta-dependant, and atm I think too many Pirate Warriors and Odd DH were scared away by the nerfs when their decks are still pretty fine. As soon as Aggro population is is restored, QMage will be ok.
Well, Captain Greenskin is better when played on empty board I guess. I think they are comparable in power, probably you would put it in any midrange/tempo deck with weapons, because why not. Even without the effect trigger, 5 mana 4/4 rush is not that bad.
It should do. Sending minions 'backwards' (board -> hand -> deck) always resets them to their base versions unless they are explicitly put there with a buff.
Its basically Captain Greenskin but better since it has rush and if this survives then that's another free swing. Has some synergies with Playmaker, but Bloodsworn Mercenary can usually do the same. Of course, if there's no enemies on board then this just suck if the weapon upgrade is the reason for playing this, and perhaps that's why greenskin will still hold on to the niche of upgrading weapons.
For rogue, well, get this off galakrond and your 5/2 weapon just became a monstrous 6/3. But there needs to be better weapons for rogue before this becomes a staple.
I won't be too unhappy to get this card off my packs, but if I don't, there's always greenskin.
Going into this expansion a few people were expecting him to be too dark for HS, which I'd guess is why his card doesn't bare much resemblance to his Warcraft lore. I suppose he carries melee weapons (meat cleavers), which I guess qualifies him to be the teacher of the rogue/warrior class pair?
I'd be surprised if Kel'Thuzad tried too hard to find a teacher for an almost magic-less dual class, and to his eyes all melee weapons are crude wastes of time. Yes, that is now my head-canon: Krastinov was ordered to teach rogue/warriors for no better reason than that KT doesn't know/appreciate the difference between a meat cleaver and a sword.
This is interesting in both warrior and rogue... Buff a weapon while trading for 4 damage... Better than Captain Greenskin if your deck isn't pirate centric
What are you talking about, this is arguably a better Captain Greenskin, which has seen plenty of play recently and overall throughout its existence. Also, dropping this into likes of Playmaker, hehe :)
An interesting little card. Definitely enables something, but remember that this does not return to hand if it is killed by the spell you cast.
Can probably fit into raza priest, but the ability to play enough cards per turn for lethal isn't a problem for raza priest, what that deck needs is a better draw suite to consistently draw into raza + shadowreaper.

Now, I would enjoy a nerf on Sorcerer's Apprentice, but if we want to be fair, Ancestor's Call and Muckmorpher deserve one as well. For the same reason: insane mana cheating.

No it isn't... Do you want to waste so much mana just on some pings?
Doctor Krastinov is a New Rogue & Warrior Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion
I think that Doctor Krastinov has better chances to see play together with Wrenchcalibur and Waggle Pick because of the tempo curve.

New Neutral Minion - Pen Flinger
Can any deck truly justify a deckslot for this poor thing?
I think not.
Maybe rogue, maybe paladin, maybe priest. But more likely in the collection collecting dust it goes.

Elven Archer. Play a spell and Elven Archer again.
Its strong enough, but its perhaps only truly strong in rogue where cheap spells are not very far.
Unfortunately, rogue doesn't really need this card, so its next best place would be...well...maybe paladin?
Its hard to evaluate, but this card, for all the interesting things you can think off, will probably never see play.

Bouncing Elven Archer, but just a decent arena card, that is about it, maybe some memes...

Both rogue legendaries are pretty meh for standard this expansion and unplayable in wild. Fairly disappointed tbh

Hm it is interesting in both rogue and warrior, because buffing a weapon and tradin for 4 at the same time is nice
