  • Hearthstone's New Kel'Thuzad Card Back Had Some Fascinating Concepts

    Good work Jay!

  • New Shaman Minion - Totem Goliath

7 mana for a 4/5 is too much. The deathrattle can be used by shaman with Totem Buff/Copy or to kill with Bloodlust...but maybe this card is too slow for a Totem shaman

  • Glide is NOT broken

    Guys.

IMHO (4) draw 4 is not balanced. I don't care what people say or how they react. If you think that's fair, it's your opinion.
The outcast effect is ok for me, it's cool, but the cost is wrong and there's no punish scenarios at all.
I would have tried to balance this in other ways, like punishing the top deck and running completely out of cards:

Maybe people is going nuts because of the color of the card, or maybe the card will be a problem itself.
But please don't get that moralist!

  • New Mage Minion - Mozaki, Master Duelist

I don't like too much. 8 Health is a lot for sure and we can aspect that will survive few turns... but unless you have a deck like "cyclon mage" you will not use 4 spell or more in a turn. Right now i prefer Azure Explorer over this card, but Mozaki, Master Duelist can have some potential in the right deck

  • Glide is NOT broken

It is not broken, but it is

    • unfun to play against,
    • makes complete archetypes useles (handbuff, cost reduction, combo ... to name a few)
    • and therefore limits future game design,...

  • New Warlock Minion - Archwitch Willow

I wish it targeted Taunt or Deathrattle instead of Demons.

    Demons? Demons...

  • Glide is NOT broken

Its funny there is always an uproar against cards that are effectively tech cards against control decks. Its good that greed is being punished aswell. There needs to be options a players can use to mess with control players aswell, just like there are tech cards against combo and aggro.

  • Archwitch Willow is a New Warlock Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

Current "big" demons that Willow could use(for now):

Jumbo Imp: 8/8, good stats, no inmediate impact on the board

Lord Jaraxxus: 3/15, not a great demon to pull

Enhanced Dreadlord: 5/7 taunt, leaves a 5/5 lifesteal when dies, great, since it's sticky, provides healing if removed, and has impact since  has taunt

Fel Lord Betrug: 5/7, it becomes a removal priority, but since you can't abuse him due plot twist being a 2 cost, it's not great

Supreme Abyssal: 12/12 , can't attack heroes. Great stats, but no inmediate impact on the board

Siegebreaker: 5/8 taunt, gives at least the other demon you pull +1 attack, has impact since it has taunt, and if you had demons ready to attack, buffs them

Aranasi Broodmother: 4/6 taunt, healing effect probably will not trigger, but stills puts a taunt in the board

Dread Infernal: 6/6, no inmediate impact on the board

Xavius: 7/5, no inmediate impact on the board, althoug if you have a 1 cost(or 0) card he can generate tokens

Pit Lord: 5/6, no inmediate impact on the board, ignores his battlecry which is ok

Nightshade Matron: 5/5 rush, has impact on the board, negates the discard

There are more, but the others are either too weak or similar to the ones I mentioned here

It's worth mentioning that on turn 10 you can use Fluffy Broon to give all this minions rush at the same time they are summoned

IMO Enhanced Dreadlord, Siegebreaker, Aranasi Broodmother, Nightshade Matron and Jumbo imp are the best choices right now(but not all could fit in the same deck)

Maybe a handlock could run this, also The Dark Portal into Willow is INSANE

  • Glide is NOT broken

Control is definitely not dead because of one card.

Yet Glide is broken, and when it is not, it's still TERRIBLY UNPLEASANT to play against.

It's also NOT a free Plot Twist, because you're gonna get fixed 4 cards as opposed to many more in the average case scenario.

And there's a whole lot of a difference between you deciding when to reshuffle, and your opponent deciding for you, on top of best benefit on his side.

That goes together with the fact that your hand in average is not bad, and you were playing with a plan in mind built upon your hand status. A reshuffle ruins that, and in average won't give you a better status than what you were building with a multi-turn strategy.

In Aggro vs Aggro, DH still has the best cards in the game, so a slight card advantage on your opponent does not matter much.

In the very best case scenario of benefitting the opponent more than the DH, the opponent will feel like he had no control whatsoever over his game. The DH has it both in good and in bad.

WoW! Great design! As if there wasn't enough hate around DH!

The only way for this card to be acceptable would be being utterly UNPLAYABLE. But if it turns out to be viable, it's a toxic card.

I just hope this card won't be nerfed to (5) (Odd-cost) for the sake of Wild.

Inbetween Aggro DH replaces Odd thanks to unnecessarily insane cards released upon insane cards for the sake of NU CLASS MUST LIVE...

  • Archwitch Willow is a New Warlock Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

I kinda wish this would be a demaonhunter card, big DH really needs some support to be viable

  • Glide is NOT broken

    Quote From Vaha

Against aggro, I am completely agreed with you, as most of the time your opponent gets the extra draw for free. In control, as I understood the mechanic is a strong play. A control hand in turns 5-8 easily can hold 6-8 cards. So what I understand about that mechanic is that both players put their hand in the deck an draw 4 cards. So, as DH you draw gain +3 or +4 in card advantage your opponent gain -1 -3 AFTER they draw on his turn. Basically mess up with the mulligan hand and gets cards back to your opponents deck.

Note: If the card do not work in that way, may you got the point.

Could hold.. but you realize it's aggro DH(the only deck that is interested in running Glide) by turn 3 so you use more of your removal tools and don't use draw cards to not spend your mana on not gaining more advantage... also who said your mulligan hand is that good? if it is good against the matchup (aggro) you should've played those good cards and your extra cards you are losing are just high cost cards that generally are there as your win condition vs other control decks or midrange so they made you a favor and switched them for potentially better cards against an hyper aggro matchup. in general the card advantage changes yet it might have been +5 in your favor as far as card advantage goes.. but it's always a +1 card advantage after an outcasted Glide (unless they spent more mana for more draw).

The card isn't bad after all it's a draw 4 for 4 if there's an empty hand it's situational.. but looking at Divine Favor.. it's not as strong if you had 6+ cards in hand Divine Favor was 6 cards drawn for 3.

I will state another point.. control decks against aggro do NOT have 8 card hands normally.. they need to use their removal, in that situation they might draw you cards or just plot twisted you for free.. and who cares all the cards in your decks should be good if you built it as a control deck which should be good vs aggro.

The only control class that have large hands just cause they can even against aggro is warlock and they got as mentioned [Hearthstone Card (aransi broodmother) Not Found], and if the glide strategy is prevalent they might as well run quest to abuse it.

  • Archwitch Willow is a New Warlock Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

    Boring af !

I can't believe how Team 5 finds themes for classes in new expansions. Same shit over and over again. No new mechanic or playstyle, Everytime same playstyles. Cheat big minions, burn, random fiesta, aggro pushovers, armor stacks, resurrecting etc. You may think that i'm shittalking here but I really meant it.

Just look at fan creation forums and look for those brilliant ideas that fans create and how much possible creative and interesting mechanics that can be brought to the game. I really feel sad to see same mechanics pushed in new expansions over and over again.

We already experienced Big Demon recruiting and Mana Cheating well enough in K&C. The only meta was Warlock there and they are pushing it for Warlock again. What's the purpose of this really ? Didn't it become meta before?

  • Aranasi Broodmother

Wasn't sure on this card when I first saw it; as more cards have come out to support it, I feel it's earned the status of being a pretty solid card.

  • Glide is NOT broken

I think this card is pretty cool.

You can either remove your opponents clutch card or give it to them - vice versa for yourself :)

Also, Warlocks running Aranasi Broodmother will be thankful. :P

  • New Warlock Minion - Archwitch Willow

Yet another card that I think'll look great in Gold! I'm already imagining that swirling purple fel magic. Although it's expensive, it's potentially on the level of pre-nerf Alexstrasza in terms of swing. If your deck only runs thicc demons, having 3 big bodies on board isn't something to scoff at. Of course, you don't get to discover the Demons, but I'm assuming good ones have been chosen to include in the deck already. Will wait and see what Demons this expansion brings us.

  • Archwitch Willow is a New Warlock Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

I tried to play a big demon warlock this expansion and failed miserably, two of the main weakness of the deck were

    1. No crazy turns (beside the turn playing the prime, but it comes too late)

    2. In some match ups not enough value

This card solves the first problem, you get a good turn 9, similar to unnerfed Alex DQ power, but the demons you have in your deck are big and defend you so it's less RNG. There is a bit of anti-synergy with the prime if it's already in your deck/hand when you play this.

    2. The second problem can be solved with the 1 mana spell revelead before, copying the prime can be very powerfull in longer grindy games.

I don't know if those will be enough to make the deck playable, but i hope to open this card in a pack and try it because i like it a lot

  • Glide

This card is pretty hard one to judge for me, because I like both of the effects sometimes (although I do believe the outcast effect is much more powerful). for starters this card is nutty if your top decking, for example it is nutty against control or combo, because the disruption effect is just really good against those type of decks (not much to say its just really solid).  On the other hand midrange decks aren't nearly as weak to the disruption effect as combo and control might be (unless they have like 8 or more cards in their hand), but that being said I don't think they gain that much from the disruption effect either and even if their hand does improve a bit it is still vastly outweighed by the fact you just effectually used sprint for 4 mana so still pretty insane. Against aggro tho I would just say it's just good, even as a top deck, while yes sprint for 4 mana is awesome you know whats even better, sprint for 0 mana or even a free shuffle 2-3 draw 4, it turns out giving an aggro deck a free reload is just never really advisable (go figure). I feel like most of the results are pretty similar if you  only have 1 other card in your hand, although it may be slightly worse against aggro if anything (but still probably "good"). Although when you have 2 or more other cards in your hand, I feel like this card really starts to show its weaknesses, and don't get me wrong I feel like against combo, control or just really large hands, its always good as long as its outcasted, but when its not, it just ends up being a slow draw 2. Against midrange it basically a slow draw 2 whether outcasted or not at best, at worst it can get your opponent out of a brick hand, witch just isn't that great. Against aggro it is absolutely terrible at this point, as its basically a draw 2 cards for 4 mana and if your forced to play while outcasted it's also a free reload for your opponent.

I think it has more good that bad applications, and is an all around solid card, but I think it is important to point out that this card does have its own flaws, and that this card won't always be played as a top deck in practice.

  • New Warrior Minion - Playmaker

It's... fine, I guess? 4/3 for (3) is a strong statline, but the effect isn't easy to make work. Most games this'll manage to affect 1 Rush minion at best before being removed. Perhaps there's something I'm not seeing, but for me, this is one of the weaker cards revealed so far.

  • New Demon Hunter & Warlock Spell - Felosophy

Cringe reveal video aside, this is a pretty cool card. The Outcast effect is a nice bonus, but gaining extra demons is a nice effect. Part of me wants to say that this is an auto-include in Warlock decks since it's only 1 mana, but it remains to be seen what Demons come with this expansion.

  • Glide is NOT broken

  • Archwitch Willow is a New Warlock Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

    only a minor one though.

You can always just play this before Kanrethad so you don't run the risk of pulling him, and even if you do it's not the end of the world.

  • Boneweb Egg

It's ok I guess? I am not that sure that it will be played in either format, let's wait and see.

  • Archwitch Willow is a New Warlock Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

because Warlock doesn't have many big demons yet (and I assume they're getting some that have yet to be revealed). They just didn't wanna spoil

  • Disciplinarian Gandling

4 mana 3/6 with powerful effect for aggro/tempo/deathrattle decks. Both Warlock and Priest will find ways to utilize it and some points of its standard life-spawn.
