I scoured pretty much every card in the game and I don't see anything that elegantly fits to every line. Scratched off Void Ripper, Unseal the Vault, and others off the list. Stumped!

Have they offerrd the year of the dragon packs prior to this event?

İf this is the first time, i might take it for the 10 pack pity timer, however if they have offered it previously i might have bought it already which means pity timer is dead for me?

The article says "This bundle sees the return of the unique Year of the Dragon pack" which means this is not the first time. Can someone confirm this?

Interesting topic subject, just a shame you screw yourself over posting some BIAS meta report.

1- Ionia is the most played region, not SI;

2- Piltover is good with basicly any region since it has tons of efficient card draw, direct damage and single target removal. It lacks Healing, AOE and big followers;

3- Elusives are strong right now thats why they see so much play. Also Ionia has good spells but lack good minions. BUT not every Ionian deck uses full elusives; (Fiora / Karma + Ez / Heimerdinger / etc)

4- Before Banner, Demacia was heavily used for Relentles Pursuit, Back to Back, Stand Alone and Fiora. All those decks are still viable;

5- Noxus is designed to go face. Just a few control decks that use Noxus: Ashe, Vladimir and Yasuo. Remember Trifarian Assession?

6- Freljord is not competitve? Kinkou elusives was a tier S deck for a loooong time. I got rank master 13º last month playing Freljord + SI. Lets not forget Warmother, Ashe and Ez freeze decks. Seriously, this "Freljord is weak" nonsense is getting old already.

I love this with Maokai! if you save up the Investigators you can make it a real win condition 

I pulled Waxadred from within the first ten packs of the YoD set, so hopefully that means yes.

Oh I didn't think about the Combo with Sejuani's level up. With both of them on board you basically just instantly win because your opponent can't really attack and is forced to sacrifice their units to avoid dying

I think a contributing factor that hasn't been mentioned is the new and improved auto-complete deck algorithm.

This option is popular among my friends who have less time to play/don't enjoy deckbuilding, and I've used it many times myself when trying to complete a "Play 3 Games" quest with a class I don't normally run.  The issue with this is that, even when you try to seed the deck with some memes to build around, the algorithm seems to favor the most popular aggro additions to fill out the remaining slots (e.g. I swear I was getting Mech Hunter suggestions, almost no matter the starting archetype, months after it was T1 and pretty much up until Face Hunter got popular).

I also think there's another factor worth mentioning related to the arms race in Casual that a few other folks commented on:

1. Because Tier 1 decks are pretty common in Casual, you usually can't run pure meme builds and expect to live long enough to play your cool combo. 
2. As a result, you often have to include a meta shell to survive the early game (e.g. there have been a number of seasons where I've felt like I "had" to include a secret shell in my Hunter decks to survive). 
3. However, because you're using a meta opening, that'll sometimes be enough to win the game and then your opponent never knows that you were trying to play a meme deck and his/her salt meter rises by a few grains.
4. After facing the "same" meta decks a number of games in a row (as inferred from their meta opening strategy), the opponent overflows with salt and plays Demon Hunter in the Kael'thas Tavern Brawl until they're so dirty the Roomba tries to scoop them up.    

Personally, I'd love to see them do a trial run of including matchmaking in the Practice Mode for like 2 months.  No gold for wins, no quest progression, just pure practice.  I'm sure folks would still venture down with T1 decks to mindlessly troll, but I wonder if that would persist long-term.  When I tank my Casual MMR so bad that I'm facing folks playing with mostly basic cards, I don't find those wins enjoyable after like the first game and am happy to rise up a bit in competition.  Alas, we'll likely never know...

Year of the dragon packs are RoS, SoU, and DoD

Its a concept introduced last year. Kinda nice to be honest, since it should* also have the 10 cards to legendary pity timer.

What are the year of the dragon packs exactly?

Honestly, going to most likely skip on this. Have almost 20k dust and almost none of the legendaries left in the three sets included are particularly ones I want. *Shrug*

Amazing. This card might actually make me want to replace Vlad with Swain in a Crimson deck. Add Sejuani in too and the deck becomes pretty insane. This card also seems great in P&Z Aggro, especially combined with high Health units like Boomcrew Rookie.
