  • HS needs an Endorsement system like Overwatch

I don't what is going on recently, but the past idk two weeks I have had SO MUCH BM it's getting ridiculous. I get that Blizz doesn't want a "reporting" system because salty trolls will just abuse it to spam reports on people that beat them, so in lieu of that I was think why not institute an Endorsement system like Overwatch has to encourage good sportsmanship? Blizzard's own data suggests it works very well (https://www.pcgamesn.com/overwatch/endorsement-system-success) so why not roll it out here.

It could function the exact same way: offer people the chance to endorse their opponent post-game on a few key areas - just off the top of my head maybe "Sportsmanship" i.e. no BMing, "Great Deck" i.e. encourages people to try and come up with fun/interesting decks, and "Strategist" i.e. just straight playing very well. Then like Overwatch your Endorsement level could get you gold/dust/packs on some regular interval. I really think this would cut down on a lot of the nonsense with positive reinforcement of good behaviors and generally make HS a more pleasant place to play. Since they said earlier this week they're looking at things to keep HS strong for "the next decade", handling the toxic elements of your playerbase had to be a key part of that or veteran players will get tired of it and it will be off-putting to new players alike.

    Thoughts?

Same. I loved this card and my Dreadsteed deck was my favourite deck of all time

    No, sorry.

First hint: the riddle only asks for a board. Some cards directly or indirectly do things with the opponent's side of it. You are looking for one of them.

  • Dragons Have Made Their Grand Entrance into Hearthstone's Battlegrounds! 7 New Heroes, 18 New Cards, and More!

I will rate new heroes from 1* - terrible to 5* - very good.

    1* - none of them

    2* - Alexstrasza - Why? 3 reasons:

    - her hero power does nothing until Tavern Tier 5 (and unlike A.F.Kay power, you could be dead before)

    - you could discover a shit (like lieutenant, steward and enforcer)

    - hero power forces you to play dragons and u could be unlucky with finding them (in worst case hero power gives you 2 coins)

2 stars instead 1 because sometimes you will be lucky enough to highroll on her.

3* - Deathwing - Very good with beasts and rat pack. 2 rat packs can carry you to late game alone, but in late game his power is close to useless (and it's weak against mirror matches)

3* - Nozdormu - Each turn he gives u additional chance to roll something good. And does nothing more beyond that.

4* - Malygos - Not so good in early game, but pretty good in late game. You can use it on high tier minions (lower pool) to get desired ones (like megasaur in murlock deck).

4* - Galakrond - Has technically different version of Toki power. We know how good Toki is, so he is too.

5* - Ysera - Roll with guaranteed dragon? Count me in! Best hero for dragon synergy, create your Dream team pretty fast.

5* - Reno - Unique hero power. Remember when you looked for minions to upgrade your best card and couldn't find any? Or when u wanted to run second golden copy? Fear not! Reno will save you! Best cards for this power - Rivendare, Brann, Soul Juggler, Lightfang Enforcer, most of Tier 6 minions.

We Wild players feast upon your tears. Bring them to me.

Really, the only gripe I have about wild is that it is constantly overwhelmed with Big Priest.  But, that's the class.  Things die, then come back... lather, rinse, repeat.

So maybe stop posting on an enthusiasts website, since you're in no way an enthusiast? Just a thought. What's constructive about spreading around your negativity?

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

Alright Blizzard, time to fire whoever designed Deathwing as a hero. Playing a bit of Battlegrounds in my free time right now and I am so frustrated it is insane. The update ruined Battlegrounds completely. I'll come back once whatever garbage of a meta they made gets solved.

  • Baldur's Gate 3

In case you missed it yesterday, they had some gameplay of the upcoming Baldur's Gate 3 and it looks awesome! Below are the official trailer and gameplay from PAX. I don't know about you, but I'm really looking forward to this!

A quick PSA to everyone playing Battlegrounds, Dragons are complete ass, do not go Dragons unless you want to lose.

Garbage tribe, no ramp, not particularly strong. Just garbage. Play Cobalts and get to top 4 ez or whatever.

Yeah, I love who it grew from casual flavor text in two cards, to a meme, to full fleshed-out characters with an engaging story.

Loved Wild for the variety and creativity of the decks, but over the past year it's become staler than Standard. I usually play a game until I run into a Secret Mage/Mech Paladin and then switch formats.

    so TL;DR "nothing"

  • Hearthstone's 16.4 Update is a Mess - Mage Bundle Nerf, Mobile Issues, Battlegrounds Queues, Unnerfed Ghostly Mogu Fleshshaper

    Quote From Majere

Over 24 hours and still no fix, in fact not even an official acknowledgement that there's any sort of issue. The combination of sloppy testing, combined with the ninja update (effectively lying to your customers) is just one more illustration of how comprehensively blizzard are managing to screw things up.

    What a joke.

It's getting to the stage that, when  a new update is announced, I've stopped getting excited about the prospect of new features, rewards, etc., and am simply resigned to the fact that blizzard are going to screw up the game for the next few days.

Perhaps then, you should stop basing your life around patch notes then, yes?  24 hours and no fix! OMG Better alert the pentagon that a company didn't fabricate a fix in less than 24 hours!

The only thing that IS a joke is your expectations that companies deploy non-critical fixes in less than 24 hours.  It's very easy to see when people (like you) have no idea how the software industry works, and spend their time complaining about *literally* everything.

Want a positive takeaway?  Try to be grateful a little more.  Be grateful you have internet, heating, a house, a mobile phone to screw around on at work, a job that pays you well, food in your belly.  How about you stop acting like an ungrateful little cretin and you'll find that things like small bugs in video games just don't bother you as much anymore.

  • Let's talk about Hecarim

Frankly, I think The Rekindler should see a much more radical change than a simple stat or cost nerf. Leave it as a 6 mana 4/4 and change the text to resurrect followers. It's crazy that Shadow Isles has access to so many uniquely powerful removal and card advantage tools.

With Hecarim, I think FortyDust hit the nail on the head - there's kind of too much going on with him to make any simple nerf stick. (Except maybe a cost nerf, but those tend to either fail or make a deck so slow as to not be competitive, which is probably too swingy a nerf.)

I do think one thing you could do to limit his power is changing his level up condition. Bystekhilcar argued that he needs to go on the offensive, making any health nerf very swingy. I think that's wrong, and I'd argue that his level up condition is a big part of why it's wrong*. Because Hecarim's level up condition is a "you've done X" condition and not an "I've seen X" condition, you don't really need to worry about having him stick to the board, so long as you can consistently get a new copy of him.

As DoubleSummon mentioned in the original post, the first Hecarim is often manageable, but the redundancy of a deck running Hecarim, The Rekindler, and even The Harrowing (not to mention some of the best card draw in the game) means you have to deal with a lot of Hecarims after turn 6. It also means your opponent doesn't really care whether you trade with him - if you don't, your opponent gets to deal tons of damage, and if you do, you lose some resources and your opponent powers up his or her late game Hecarim plays. It's win win, especially if you trade and your opponent has something like Rhasa the Sunderer in hand.

So, really, to nerf him, Riot needs to decrease that kind of consistent win/win scenario the deck can produce. I think changing his level-up to be something more like "I've seen 4+ Ephemeral allies attack" goes a long way to making him weaker in the mid game turns, but leaves The Harrowing as a kind of game ending play. (Maybe also decrease his HP a tiny bit to make trading with him on board a little easier.) If he's still too powerful after that, you could probably do one of two things. Option one, nerf his leveled up version to say "Ephemeral followers have +2|+0" to avoid cases where several leveled up Ephemeral Hecarims power each other up a ton. Option 2, nerf The Harrowing so that it resurrects unique units.

    * You could probably drop his health to be so low that he wouldn't be able to attack (e.g. at 3 HP, he'd be very vulnerable to all manner of removal before combat). If his health were so low that he could never get an attack in, that would be a very swingy nerf, but I think he could easily go as low as 4 HP and it wouldn't make much of a difference in terms of how these Hecarim decks operate today.
