  • The Best and Worst Spells Cast by The Amazing Reno in Standard Ranked by Winrate

I was rather more hopeful for some stats showing how often these spells gets casted.

But I've encounter this scenario more often than not. Seems like after this card gets played, its really all down to the spell RNG as to whether you win or lose (both sides). Its my opinion, but stuff like this is not really healthy for the game. Its one thing to get Yogg-boxed to a lost, its quite another when the start of every turn literally decides winners and losers.

    Pro

Anyone else surprised to see Grave Runes performing so badly here? I mean, it's 50/50 hitting your own minion or your opponent's. I guess maybe people playing Reno tend to have fewer minions on the board?

  • shards limit?

thanks guys i will keep hoarding XD

It is very unique and fun to play.  Probably the most strategic digital card game in my opinion, but games can run long because of this.

    How about this:

    2. That's not exactly the same. If bounce back and replay or resurrect the copy from hand, it'd have the text.

Minions can't remain silenced while in hand. If you use Spellbreaker on a Bone Drake and Sap it, the card will still have the deathrattle. Under the current mechanics of the game, your card wouldn't work the way you intend it to.

We also didn't use to have minions with buff in the hand, yet here we are

  • Should hearthstone revamp the dusting system

I get what you're saying, but to have it be equal wouldn't work on a number of levels, but mostly from a business standpoint.  As a player, I'd like to see the dust be more substantial, perhaps a slightly increased ratio to 33-50%.  However having it be equal exchange would prevent the need to get more packs to get what you need/want.

    I think it's great fun.

There is a new mage hero in the files named celestia, so he is probably more likely to be right than anyone else.

  • The Elder Scrolls: Legends - The Mage Tower Gauntlet

I loved the game, but when you "go into maintenance mode" it doesn't do your player base any favors as most people see it as essentially a dead game.

Already submitted this, but I would still be interested in some feedback for future competitions.

It doesn't really make a lot of sense for a Scheme card to use a watermark from a set before it existed, but the card is otherwise fine

I agree that the watermark decision was questionable. I understand why you chose it, but since this is a year of the dragon competition, I would suggest any of the 4 YoD watermarks instead.

Otherwise, I love the flavor of the card and the effect. It's Moorabi's effect, but actually playable!

Here are my guesses as to what's coming this year:

Year of the Phoenix (symbol of rebirth and renewal)

3 New Classes (Death Knight, Monk, and Demon Hunter)

    Achievements

    Classic set revamp and rotations

Ways to earn cards or currency in other Blizzard games

  • The Elder Scrolls: Legends - The Mage Tower Gauntlet

This game should get more recognition

  • Planning on Hoarding Wildcards and Shards Before the Next Set Drops? Legends of Runeterra Won't Stop You

If they were planning on changing resources, paying players would have no reason to buy any more weekily wildcards, starting approximately this week.

If you have been buying Champion cards every week and paying coins for three Expeditions weekly, you are very close to having every Champion by now. Factor in all the inevitable Champions you'll get as you unlock all the regions, and you're basically there. So if you bought a big pile of coins at the start to support the game and you're about to run out, don't worry! You don't need them anymore! At least now we know you can keep buying wildcards and stock up for future use if you want to.

Also, if you've been playing a lot, you may be to the point where you're getting more shards than cards in your rewards, because you get so many extra copies. Now you don't need to worry about what you'll do with all of those shards as they continue to accumulate.

Still, it would be nice if there were some cosmetic rewards we could spend shards on. Even if they have separate bling for coins and shards, I'd buy both.

  • Should hearthstone revamp the dusting system

I agree that there should be a new dusting/crafting system. But if each card could be disenchanted for its crafting cost then you could just trade legendaries back and forth and you would never need to open packs again.

It's certainly worth trying out, in my opinion.

One difference with most other card games is that mana carries over from turn to turn, so you can play expensive cards earlier if you don't spend all your mana.

A more obvious difference is the hex-based game board: positioning is very important, not only for combat but also for getting more mana (from the wells on the side) or summoning creatures (only on your own land of the right color).

As in Magic, you can use as many colors per deck as you like, although typically one or two are used. There are also neutral (colorless) cards.

A super quick intro for Hearthstone players:

    • there is ranked and unranked ladder, while Pandora is like Arena
    • taunt is taunt
    • protection is divine shield
    • death touch is poisonous
    • gift is battlecry
    • last words is deathrattle
    • haste is charge
    • charge is faster movement: 2 or 3 hexes in a straight line instead of 1
    • dash is extra movement in a straight line immediately after summoning

The business model is friendly to people on a small but non-zero budget: if you buy a DLC, you can then unlock all the cards within it through chests (packs) which you get by just playing the game for a little while. The chests will never give you duplicates, so when you have all the commons and rares of an expansion, you'll open chests full of epics and legendaries. There are some modes you can play without paying anything, but I don't think you can get everything without paying.

There are also some nice lethal puzzles, similar to what Hearthstone had with Boomsday.

  • Sleeper Card Spotlight: Emerald Awakener

    Quote From OldManSanns

In the closed beta, Cloud Drinker had an enlightened ability to decrease by 2 instead of 1, and it was insane when combo'd with Karma. Granted you still had to make it to 10 mana, but once you did it was basically GG.

I'm glad you brought that up! Cloud Drinker is one of the very few examples of cards Riot has nerfed into the ground. It sees absolutely no play now.

We should talk about ways to fix it in another thread! Feel free to start one, or I may do it eventually.

  • Frostbite is the new problem child

    Quote From Bystekhilcar

I will continue to disagree with the idea of reflexive nerfs before the meta has a chance to react properly, and will continue to express my frustration at the tendency of players to want to nerf whatever's currently doing well simply because it's doing well.

But you have to keep in mind the developers' stated intent to do frequent balance patches -- far more frequent than other card games I've played. How much do you expect the meta to settle amid that constantly shifting landscape?

So far, it seems like Riot is basing their decisions mostly on hard data, with player sentiment possibly giving a nudge when they are on the fence about something. I don't think there's any reason to get too stressed out about players calling for nerfs if you truly believe something isn't a problem. If it is a problem, it will show up in the data; if it's not, Riot may put it on the watch list but probably won't change it without reason.

  • Should hearthstone revamp the dusting system

In my opinion yes if I were in charge I would make every disenchant cost equal to its crafting cost becase 400 dust for a legendary when it costs 1600 dust to craft ? No Thanks!

it should be that if you disenchant a legendary you can craft a legendary (ect. ect.)

thats all i have thanks for coming to my ted talk.

  • The Best and Worst Spells Cast by The Amazing Reno in Standard Ranked by Winrate

It really is random, and I love/hate it. I was playing as a Reborn Pally against a mage who dropped Mass Dispel, Blizzard, Plague of Death, Mass Dispel and Plague of Death in a row. I had to laugh and couldn't even be mad, I was clearly not meant to win that game.

I tried it out in a Highlander Mage and he popped Tracking to discard my Zephrys, then Flark Boom Zooka'd my Alex and some other minions onto an empty board.

RNGesus giveth and taketh, for sure.

Yes, and a good way to do that is to improve consumer satisfaction. The optimal (legal) way for a company to make money always takes what consumers want into account.

Now, the discussion about whether whatever is coming is optimal can be saved for later, but for now there is reason for people to build up a little hope/hype.
