I've been running it in 2s, later in 3s since the beta launch in my Freljord/Ionia deck. It was a bit of a mish-mash at first, but I've molded it into Braum + Take Heart + Avalanche (plus some small followers) to survive the early game, then mana ramp and Karma + Anivia for the late game. I figured if I claw my way into the late game, the 6-point heal might be a lifesaver. But you're right, of course - I hardly ever play the card before turn 9. I'd rather let it sit in my hand as long as I can play literally anything else.
With the meta having shifted to more agressive decks, with Dragon Hunter and Galakrond Warrior being the most prevalent, I advise you to try this deck again. Vicious Scalehide makes agressive decks cry, and you have a lot more resources than them because of Master's Call.
StrifeCro's deck looks nice and I think it could use the "deals double damage to the nexus" ally. Together with some buffs and Overwhelm it quickly becomes very deadly.
There already are a lot of statements from other people about those big changes. I don't have anything to add to that and I'm not one of those guys who have to repeat the same argument over and over again. But having read all the comments I noticed that nobody had mentioned the most obvious thing to come up and (probably) come up pretty soon: new portraits. I just tried to contribute in an actually meaningful way.
2. That's not exactly the same. If bounce back and replay or resurrect the copy from hand, it'd have the text.
Minions can't remain silenced while in hand. If you use Spellbreaker on a Bone Drake and Sap it, the card will still have the deathrattle. Under the current mechanics of the game, your card wouldn't work the way you intend it to.
So let's take Frodan's word and reason on the fact that the changes they're about to implement are massive and will guarantee HS success in the following decade.
Let's start going for exclusion:
* UI Improvements; they might happen, but in no way they will have an impact on player retention/acquisition, as HS has arguably some of the best UI in online card games to date
* New keywords; while new keywords and mechanics are cool, by themselves they will never be able to make a game survive longer. Discover didn't make HS last 10 years longer, and it still is the most praised mechanic of the game. Let's not forget that whatever keyword a new expansion can throw at us, it will move out of the standard format in 2 years;
* New cosmetics and cosmetic economy; this by itself has absolutely no impact on the longevity of a game, unless the game is incredibly f2player friendly - which it isn't, and it only got worse;
* New game modes; interesting possiblilty, however only one game mode doesn't guarantee the game survival for another decade. However, more than one... Here we enter the realm of "it may actually be the thing". Adding an Arena mode that actually works more like Draft or Limited from MtG, that allows the player to draft cards, build a deck from the pool of drafted cards, and keep all the cards for themselves. A mode such as this would really let HS make a big jump;
* Revamped economy system: another big possibility, HS sore spot has always been how the economy - especially the Dust based one - is incredibly unfair and punishing towards the players. This year has been especially egregious under this point of view; 4 expansions - yes, Galakrond's Awakening is an expansion just like Naxxramas was, so 4 expansions - and a devastating power creep made it so that grinding becomes less and less rewarding. However, is a revamp in the economy system something that could make you say "they will cement HS for another decade for all players"? I have my doubts - and knowing Activision Blizzard, I doubt they will want to earn less money;
All in all, when Frodan says "if they can execute", means that it will be something complex. I'm hopeful, but honestly, I'll keep my expectations low.
each new set will introduce a new region + champions for all other regions, right now there is now standard/wild modes any new card will be played in all modes: expditions, ranked,etc.
The thing Hearthstone needs the most to maintain longevity is modes/formats. A lot of 'em. The base of the game is solid, but those are just the tools. Formats and modes are what dictates the rules in which these tools can be used. MtG, though far from perfect, has this down pat. They have so many formats you have to be someone who actively dislikes the game if you can't find a format that appeals to you. HS is very limited in this respect. It has three formats in total if we disregard BGs and Tavern Brawl and is only really actively supporting one of them. That has to change. Give us more ways to use our cards and pay attention to the state of these formats with more frequent balancing and updates and HS can keep going for decades.
Updated the card based on some feedback. The first time you play this, it costs 7, and the copies it gives you are 5 mana 4/7s.
Too clunky. You do not really understand the effect without an addendum.
Maybe lower the stats a bit, and drop the costs 2 more. Instead of 'add a silenced copy of this minion to your hand' maybe write:'add a mortal bone drake to to your hand. '
Or just make the original version a class card: Both archeologist-dinorider-Brann and Swamp witch Hagatha could very well have one of these. Class Cards are stronger.
In the closed beta, Cloud Drinker had an enlightened ability to decrease by 2 instead of 1, and it was insane when combo'd with Karma. Granted you still had to make it to 10 mana, but once you did it was basically GG.
Maybe the trick here is to do something similar: i.e., find a unassuming follower and give it something like Enlightened: whenever you summon a follower, add a copy to your hand. Or cast again this turn / "echo" if that's too much. Basically: HS's Glinda Crowskin, but it doesn't work with champions. A late game 6/6 LS for 3 mana is unimpressive; but three 6/6 LS for 9 mana is another story--you heal to full if they all connect. Same story with Feral Mystic and five 6/6 overwhelms for 10 mana.
This assumes Enlightened isn't fine as it is, and needs some level of fixing. In MTG, cards with a kicker are typically weaker than their non-kickered counterparts, but they are more flexible because they get more value later. Being a bit on the weaker end is an important part of that trade-off. If you didn't have that, you'd just auto-pick kicker cards over non-kicker cards all the time.
Honestly, I think Enlightened is the keyword that's hardest to balance because its condition is inevitable and uninteractable. (Returning to my MTG comparison, at least in that case you can go land dry, or your opponent can destroy your lands.) If the game goes long enough, you'll reach 10 mana gems, so non-Champion cards that benefit from the Enlightened keyword need to have more subdued effects rather than game-ending ones, or you'll see them in all control decks. So, these cards are probably fine as they are for now.
I think a major part of this card (along with its counterpart, Feral Mystic) is that you're not really getting much for the Enlightened effect. You're getting more stats, sure, but by default you're at 10 mana when that happens - there's plenty of big stuff you could play. So what you're really getting is tempo, but since card draw sources are pretty light in LoR so far your hand is going to be fairly limited by that point in the game anyway. The one thing it does let you do is combine it with a big spell on the turn you play it - but there aren't many decks willing to run a significant number of big spells right now.
Well... that and the fact that the meta is still quite fast at this point. That doesn't help either.
Been wanting some anti-Lackey tech since Zetalot mentioned them as a reason for his departure, and I agreed with it as a problem in the current meta (rogues and wild shaman). Let me know what you think.
FYI -- Lackeys still provide a dragon/spell/whatever, the players just can't choose anymore because of the loss of Discover if that is chosen. Art chosen was "rat dragon" -- I originally thought Dirty Rat clone, but that would be more ideal to get rid of Lackey generators than Lackeys, and not all Lackey generators are minions. The only ways I could think to hurt Lackeys fairly would be to silence them in hand, force them out (both of which wouldn't be effective as they're not commonly held long, if at all), remove Discover or increase the mana cost. Went with the latter two.
The only bit I was conflicted on was poisonous; I added as a "after year of the dragon/against non-lackey decks/late game" option, but I figure it counters stuff like Inner Fire priest well early too. Also gives it a slight upside/downside if you get this as your random dragon reward from Descent's Ysera or Alex.
PS -- My other idea was a 3-mana battlecry legendary, Lackey Union Leader, that gradually increases the mana cost of Lackey +1 after the legendary is played.
This a better Pit Snake without the Lackey stuff. I'd make it cost 2.
Choose One is exclusive to Druids, so you can't use it on a neutral card. I'd just give it a Battlecry: All Lackeys cost (1) more.
I don't think I'd call Frostbite a problem child. Then again, I wouldn't have called Fearsome-centric aggro OR Elusive decks problem children either. An archetype being strong isn't a problem; the problem comes when one archetype gets too overwhelmingly strong such that it either chokes out or entirely defines a metagame for an extended period. If the final point of the meta's evolution becomes 'either play this or hate-pick for it', that's when you've got a problem. We've reached that point in Hearthstone a fair few times now.
LoR has never actually reached that point. Elusive decks were already on the way out to Fearsome aggression before any balance changes happened, and given how quickly they got nerfed after that shift we never hit that point with Fearsome decks either. We're now only a few days past a balance patch which had a heavy impact on major meta decks - it's far too soon to say that any particular deck now needs balancing.
I will continue to disagree with the idea of reflexive nerfs before the meta has a chance to react properly, and will continue to express my frustration at the tendency of players to want to nerf whatever's currently doing well simply because it's doing well.
What does a new set do about the standard collection in LoR? Is it like standard mode in HS, where old set are removed and only playable in another specific mode ?
I'm pretty sure that something which is coming really soon will be new hero portraits for cash. I can't remember having no purchasable heros in the shop for such a long time before.
My personal dream would be to (additionally!) make all the past ones available, but I won't get my hopes up. (I would be happy if that happened, but I support the argument that it would be morally wrong to do so because of protecting the cash money obtained exclusiveness of time-limited offers.)

Revamping the basic/classic set would be great for the game. Revise some of the older and more stale strategies and inject them with new life.
Little changes like:
The treants summoned by Force of Nature to have taunt again. But not charge.
Innervate to give +1 mana the first time played and then +2 the second time played.
(I only play Druid so have no other class examples to hand but let this be an sampl of the quirks that I mean)
