My strategy was to stack up Reno's wand to one shot him....didn't work but I killed him anyways somehow.

The order of your heroes is important.

Starting off with Brann is usually the best since the first phase involves a lot of combat. Keep some removal for the Old Gods summon.

  • Tombs of Terror: Heroic

Finley with the lifesteal weapon and discover a minion hero power. IIRC i got him down on the first try.

And yea, the 300hp bosses thing really killed my enthusiasm for it. The replay value is so low. I played Dalaran Heist for a few months, but this one felt like an unfun chore.

  • Tombs of Terror: Heroic

Here's to hoping that the next single player content doesn't require us to take down bosses with 300 health.

  • What NEW thing do you think would benefit Hearthstone?

    1. A new team mode (2v2,3v3)

    2. A total rework of the economy system

    3. Basic/Classic sets need a complete rework.

    4. A real casual mode

    5. A rework of the heropowers

    6. An easier way to create your own tournaments.

2: Yeah the dust economy feels bed, even for players who spend money on the game.

3: That's a bit touchy, what would the purpose of new cards if the classic/basic ones fit into every meta?

4: Definitely, IDK why it's okay to run meta decks in Casual.

    5: Can you elaborate more?

If you leveled up sir finley to the max, bait out weapon destruction (theres a max of 2 I think but I kinda remember him only oozing once) then equip the lance with the bubble blower hero power. That will be more than enough to get you to the final phase where you will only die out of fatigue.

If I'm not mistaken around phase 2-3 theres a massive cthun that you need to use the scales of justice to transform so he can't be shuffled back into the deck. Once that is dealt with, you pretty much win the game. AI will drop cthun whenever he can, so theres no shenanigans of him holding for a one shot. Always remember to transform cthun, never kill it.

Did it with only fully maxed Finley both on normal and heroic, because why would anyone grind this mode with all the other explorers.

Yeah why would ANYONE sane grind this mode..(I did it lol)

No need for Awaken the Makers?

EDIT: Also, this deck has no early AoE in case of, I dunno, zoo and token decks, which are fairly prevalent right now. I'm taking out the Acolyte of Pains and adding in the 2 of the new Breath of the Infinite.

FINAL EDIT: I have come to the conclusion that this version of the deck is absolutely terrible. I'm better off with the Awaken the Makers version. Thanks for trying to make a fun deck, but this just wasn't good enough.

Part of me wants to give this game a try, but this all looks so complicated compared to the simple Hearthstone keyword system. How easy do you think it would be to cross over from Hearthstone to MtG theoretically?

It's not too hard to get into but where I struggled personally is to recognise threats and watch out for untapped lands( often meaning a counter in hand) . Just like in HS some cards like Brann and stargazer luna with sub-par stats are true threats, in MTG a lot of cards snowballs real fast if left unchecked and it takes time to know what deserves a removal.

Also being land flooded or mana screwed is infuriating and never 100% avoidable.

  • Tombs of Terror: Heroic

Get as many treasures as you can before you face him. That's the trick.

  • MTG Arena - Theros: Beyond Death Card Spoilers January 3

So the indestructible God enchantments make enough sense... but the collection of enchantment creatures is weird.  Just like a creature with an ability.  Only difference I see is that they also trigger things that react to enchantments, also able to be destroyed by them.  Am I seeing that wrong or is that how they work?

  • Hearthstone's Most Popular Classes in 2019 - Are We Even Surprised?

Hunter and Mage always seem to get cards that just look really good on the surface regardless of any synergies or whatever, and most of them end up and auto-includes. The most vivid examples I have are cards like Candleshot, Deathstalker Rexxar and Flanking Strike; cards that just feel like "well I have the foundation of my deck, I'll just add these cards that are insanely powerful in any scenario". To me, Mage seems to always get cards that are "just good" regardless of synergy, but that may just be my bias (I hate mage with a passion).

  • Hearthstone's Most Popular Classes in 2019 - Are We Even Surprised?

That's absolutely not true. Nerfs are but one example, expansion releases are another, and events like Doom in the Tomb can also be a reason. Even without these, there is no need for coincidence and luck. If a new deck rises that's able to beat other decks, it will rise in popularity, no ifs or buts about it (exhibit A: Quest Priest). If someone makes an entirely new deck then yes, luck is required for it to gain traction, but even still, it falls under the presumption of its matchup against the meta decks. If the said matchup is good, then the deck will rise in popularity, otherwise, it won't. There is no need for "momentum" or "coincidence" to change the meta.

  • Tombs of Terror: Heroic

God, I can't imagine, lol. I was pretty stoked just to beat the regular one.

  • Should milling be a genuine supported strategy in standard Hearthstone?

I somehow managed to play two straight mill decks the other day in Wild, and it was unpleasant to say the least. I just conceded against the rogue one, there's very little point to playing those out unless you start fast with an aggro deck and can hope to outrace it, but I was able to get past the Druid one.

I understand them as a "strategy", I suppose, but I don't think supporting it any further is a good idea. Hearthstone does not allow any sort of interaction with or counter to the mill strategy, minus a couple of RNG shots with a Gnomeferatu or something. As someone else mentioned, graveyard interaction can help to balance it in Magic, in that a milled card is not necessarily gone forever, and of course there are many more cards to mill.

  • MTG Arena - Theros: Beyond Death Card Spoilers January 3

Regarding these cards - that Archon artwork is fascinating, very unique, I kinda love it. Callaphe is a beauty too. I'm going to have to look up what Constellation means as a keyword again - I know I read about in one of the MtGA articles on DailyMTG, but I've forgotten - before my time :)

  • MTG Arena - Theros: Beyond Death Card Spoilers January 3

Well, I started playing the game with exactly zero MtG experience in real life, and while it is certainly more complicated than Hearthstone, I think you'll be surprised by how quickly aspects of the game start feeling natural. There will be bits that fly by you for awhile, and I'll never forget how baffled I was by Planeswalkers when I first came across them, but truly, becoming a solid casual or low ranks player goes pretty quickly, and then you just pick up new details from playing. It took me I don't know how many times to finally get thru my head that my 3 attack minion does 3 total damage across multiple blockers, for instance, and not 3 to EACH blocker. But you'll get the hang of it, and be complaining about mana-screw or those jackass Cavalcade of Calamity in Casual players in no time, haha.

Wow to see a visual representation of Shaman go over 30% due to evolve and it's effect on the played rates of the other classes.

Hope Team 5 have a similar graphic nice and large in the balance team office - if not they should have!

Thanks for posting this HSreplay graphic flux - was really interesting the see the rises/falls on the year.

  • Should milling be a genuine supported strategy in standard Hearthstone?

It depends on what you mean by mill in my opinion, as it differs between the game. If we go by milling in terms of MtG, this being getting rid of cards from the top of the deck, then absolutely not. Mill in this sense is like a burn deck where your opponent's life total is irrelevant and instead their life total becomes their deck size. Given that decks for hearthstone are only 30 cards, they'd either have to make the cards unreasonably expensive a la void contract or make them do very little, such as gnomeferatu, both of which are not good cards. Having a viable mill card in hearthstone would probably be the most unfun thing ever produced because unlike in MtG, where it's a gag/niche archetype that sees fringe play, cards that get burned in hearthstone cease to exist. Comparing it to MtG, many of the top decks throughout the history of the deck would try to get as many cards in the graveyard as possible and as such, milling isn't a good thing in every matchup.

If we go by milling in terms of hearthstone, that was just making the opponent overdraw, I think that would be fair since most ways to print cards in this vein are just cards that'd draw both cards, which is something many decks would want it would still most likely decimate control decks, but I think that creates more of a challenge in making a control deck that is able to pressure someone down instead of durdling until late game to slam a bunch of stats in play.
