  • Uldum Legendary Card Reveal - King Phaoris

For 10 mana it s bad. I know, very strong effect in the right deck, but it s random minions and possible be very bad. But with Jepetto, or lens it s so strong. Can be used in Shaman too, coz he has a lot of surviving tools, but loosing in value vs War. This can outvalued any control war, remember Shaderwock and Hagatha with a lot of spells in hand

this fits very good in decks like bigspell mage BUT i dont think that it will be a super big game changer since bigspell mage already has alot of "big minion swing turn" cards and you need to take of of them out for this one. I think the other ones are more consistent than this, because you could have to use all your spells to keep yourself alive vs aggro, but it should give you more tempo vs control decks

I think this suits Big Spell Mage in wild quite nicely and it might replace Dragoncaller Alanna due to the fact, that you have to power up her battlecry first, while in King Phaoris's case you can simply play him on turn 10. Since the spells there cost 5+, you would get bigger bodies than 5/5s (although I have to admit, that those wouldn't be always guaranteed). Sadly, this archtype doesn't exist in the wild format and this would be even more obvious, when Burn Mage becomes more popular there thanks to its new tools.

In standard I think this card is more likely to appear in Casino Summon Mage than anything else - it would run Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron and Power of Creation, as well as the well known big spell AoE package (Flamestrike, Blizzard). It might not be a competitive deck, if it can't anwer giants on turn 5 or 6, but it would be fun to play.

    Meteor and Blizzard into:

    Big-Time Racketeer Card Image

:D But to be honest, i guess you are right. This cards looks very powerful for a 10 drop and finally a nerf for Conjurer-Mage -> Sea Giant into this, need more weak Battlecry targets, but also for 12-Mana.

  • Reno: King of Sands

Wow.  After I saw Sir Finley of the Sands I was thinking of a Reno Paladin deck.  This definitely feels like a good starting point.  Especially the clever use of Kangor's Endless Army.   Thumbs up!

I'm looking forward to putting this into my Big Spell Mage deck, should be fun

Regarding Eater of Secrets etc. vs. Kezan Mystic… i think it depends on how Secret Mages play out in the new meta. In other words, will they be more strategic (one secret at a time) or just spam "?"'s everywhere lol.

Good question, but as a control player I would prefer the prior tech just because burn mages normally spam "?"s left and right and I would be more comfortable in dealing with them at once.

Yeah, fair point. I guess you'd use Kezan if your deck is more tempo-oriented than control.

Makes me wonder if the best way to play burn mage is to spam fewer secrets....probably?

  • Uldum Legendary Card Reveal - King Phaoris

You'd have to play him in a deck that incidentally makes a ton of spells that end up rotting in your hand. New quest mage or a shaman deck with Hagatha come to mind.

  • New Neutral Minion - King Phaoris

Yeah I think its probably decent in control shaman as you can double up on the battlecry with shudder later. Also Hagatha generating spells gives more uumpf for this card.

  • Uldum Legendary Card Reveal - King Phaoris

What about Shaman? You can flood the board with that because you'll definitely have spells in your hand from Hagatha the Witch. You'll also be able to replay that with Shudderwock. The downside of that is that you'll be most likely to kill some of the summoned minions because of the replayed Battlecry from Hagatha the Witch

  • Uldum Legendary Card Reveal - King Phaoris

This also supports the Mage quest.

Also worth noting that odd pally has access to Chief Inspector but i doubt it'll be worth it for consistency reasons

Yup, I agree. If mage plays Arcane Flakmage and either a Kirin Tor Mage into a secret or just a secret, the paladin would lose its board and tempo advantage. Chief Inspector wouldn't help that much, not when Tempo Mage can spam cheap AoEs whenever it pleases.

  • How to Use Amazon Coins to Purchase Cheaper Hearthstone Packs

Also, I've noticed that on the Amazon App Store they now give you a few free coins every day when you open the app. You can get enough for a few packs every few months...not great, but its FREE. :D

I think this only happens in certain regions, however.

  • Uldum Legendary Card Reveal - King Phaoris

Can this work in paladin? If you draw it by Jepetto Joybuzz or Prismatic Lens, it can be awesome. I can't think of any other discounts right now. At least in standard. Or, the treasure from Heistbaron Togwaggle? Wondrous Wand

  • New Neutral Minion - King Phaoris

Would fit control Shaman. With Hagatha's Scheme, Rain of Toads and Earthquake you should be able to summon some big minions. Big Shaman will probably not want this card, because it is a bad target for Eureka! and Muckmorpher

  • Uldum Legendary Card Reveal - King Phaoris

It is IF you can get it off. But you need to get to turn 10, can't play your big spells because you need them as fuel for the King, there is still a chance you whiff on the RNG (Hir'eek, anyone?), and if you happen to be forced to play your spells before you have a 10 mana 5/5. I don't hate the card or anything, I just think it is way to inconsistent, to vulnerable to board clears and too hard to set up efficiently. I'm sure there is going to be some highlight videos, but I'm also sure this is not going to be in anything but meme decks.

  • New Neutral Minion - King Phaoris

    100% a meme.

    100% a day one craft.

    This is hot.

  • Uldum Legendary Card Reveal - King Phaoris

Day one craft for sure, sick card!

That is one hell of a legendary. I dont think it would fit into Spiteful Decks, cause there usually isnt that many spells, tho i suppose two 10 cost minions would be enough value. More like a Big Spell Mage or maybe some kind of Paladin deck in wild with Dinosize and Steed and stuff like that. The new Pharaoh's Blessing would fit in there too.

I dunno, I think it helps mitigate the poor outcome that occasionally happens when your Spiteful Summoner can't pull anything from your deck...though i agree most times it'll just have the same effect (summon 1 minion) for 3 mana more...

Dear lord, please stop creating those irresistable decks! If the Lucentbark / Mogu Cultist combo works, I'll end up having to craft Lucentbark to play this deck. Sigh.

  • Uldum Legendary Card Reveal - King Phaoris

Cmon man you are better than this... It's expensive for a reason because it's OP card, and it's not weak on stats it's like a minion with 20/20 ++ for 10 mana ...

  • New Neutral Minion - King Phaoris

My first thought was this could be included in Cyclone Mage, though you can't really control the mana cost of spells produced by Mana Cyclone. A strictly Big Spell Mage would be better.

Still, really cool design. I'm glad it's neutral, maybe Priest can take advantage of this as well with its high-cost board clears and resurrect cards.
