being in a position to bm as druid

this should probably be in the wild section

  • Uldum Card Reveal - Mortuary Machine

    Fel Reaver, is that you?

  • Uldum Rogue Card Reveal - Shadow of Death

An actual awesome rogue spell? What world is this? I'm actually already beginning to theorycraft various wild meme OTKs with this card!

The one sad thing is that rogue can't have good things and I'm just waiting for this to eventually get nerfed down the road because hey why not rogues aren't allowed to do rogue things.

Stop. I didnt want to get the bundle before. I do love my newest shaman hero. I dont like to do the annoying BM (read spamming) but a few of his phrases at the right time feel pretty good

  • New Neutral Minion - Conjured Mirage

this is a potentially strong card.  there aren't a lot of defensive things to do on 4 mana and this is neutral.  It either soaks 10 damage while hitting stuff which is amazing for four mana, soaks premium removal like deadly shot, halts development and they pass, or they develop more possibly into a 5 mana aoe.  All of these are pretty good.  Maybe the fact that it never sticks makes it unplayable, but If you think of it more as a spell and less as a minion, it still seems playable.  There hasn't been a card quite like this so we won't be sure until we get our hands on it.

I think maybe control shaman and some priest decks play this.  maybe some combo decks that aren't focused on going really fast through the deck.  Decks that aren't necessarily fighting for an early board and want to stall to play their powerful late game.

    Quote From MachineGod

All aggro decks have cheap target removal so Idon’t think this card will be too much of a problem. I can just venomizer it and carry on with my day.

Venomizer is an important card in bomb hunter though.  if i'm playing a control role against mech hunter i'm usually not that upset for them to use a venomizer early as one minion removal.

  • Should Hearthstone have Creative Mode

First off, let's call it "Custom Games" because that is a more realistic, and more importantly, an ACHIEVABLE approach. The idea of buffing and nerfing cards in client is honestly asking for trouble even if it's a Custom Game between friends, so scrap that as an idea because it simply can't happen.

That's one thing that's always bugged me about HS is that we can't make our own rules in client without have to DM our friends to set it up. Or have a mode, like I don't know, BRAWL BLOCK, that changes monthly and could put these rules in. Like, how would have KFT looked without DK's?

Firstly, as far as 'custom games' 'asking for trouble' even if it's between friends: as a person who supports the concept of a 'custom' mode between clans/guilds (note I also support us having clans/guilds) I am deeply curious as to what makes such a concept a bad one.

If it's something that's unfeasable or impossible coding wise, that's a developer issue and something that should be determined and voiced by Blizzard.  Our job here is to figure out whether it's something that we would want to happen IF it's feasable to develop.  Unless you have some insight to how it is on the developer side.

I mean you might, which is why I'm asking.

Point is, what do you mean by it's 'asking for trouble' and it 'simply can't happen'?

Secondly as far as 'brawl block' I believe the Brawls help demonstrate the problem with it.  We have weekly brawls that make different rules in how we play, sometime in ways you cannot recreate naturally, such as removing the RNG from the card draw or limiting a deck to just 4 cards, or just crazy stuff in general.  We generally get bored of it by the end of the week with the meta 'solved' long before then.  A month of any of them would be either ignored or raged at.

I'm hoping that the set blocks they've done have shown better numbers. I enjoyed them and so much want a mode of that, but I'm sure Blizzard is keeping a heavy record of how the playerbase is truly handling these events.  Thing is, if it IS proven to be good enough for a full mode, we won't know about it for at least  a few months if not a full year while they develop it (Tournament mode SHOULD've taught them not to talk about anything that isn't ready).  If it's proven to be something we think we want but don't, we won't know until a year or two later when they answer an AMA question and say "we looked into it and found it diddn't really work out.

In any case, at least as far as the set blocks is concerned, we'll get it if we REALLY showed we want it.

The reason I say it's asking for trouble is because if this featuree were implemented, the HS forums on every site would be filled with "change the state line/cost of this minion to make it more playable". Which I get but let's be real here, the devs enjoy watching the meta evolve naturally without getting involved too much, hence the HoF once a year. Obviously this expansion cycle is a bad example for me because they did the "Rise of the Mech" event.

Making a setting in order for custom stats to exists just sounds like a coding hassle, which I doubt Team 5 will ever make the time to make. There're two ways I see why they aren't going to even try to make it. 1: Because I'm fairly confident that only a small player base would actually use the tool in client to have their own custom statted cards. 2: They don't gain anything monetarily out of it. That's the reason Tournament Mode never came to fruition, they either couldn't get it to work to their/the community's standard, or they couldn't find a way to make a great profit from it. (Even though personally I see no reason why they can't charge an entry fee to some kind of in client tournament mode but hey, I play a little bit of Devil's Advocate)

The reason it "simply can't happen" is because Big Daddy Blizzard had that huge layoff 3(?) months back where ~200 people lost their jobs. If I were a HS developer I would be thinking "Let's spend our time making content we KNOW players will spend their money on instead of working on additions to the game that could possibly be hit or miss". I don't blame them for that, I want more but I can see why they would want to play it safe. I mean hell, BB promised tournament mode last year before he left the company and it's still just a meme. (Also, I can't find where he said it but I know for a fact it was said before he announced that he was leaving Blizzard)

I agree that I don't enjoy most brawls, I honestly don't play more than one game just so I get the pack. And you're right, the Brawls have rules that we can't augment and that's probably for a reason, that good ol' spaghetti code. From an outside point of view I don't know how long it took to write those rules, some of those brawls could have been in development for months before they were put on the live game, I don't know how long it would even take to give a player that power over the rules without making it arbitrary and convoluted.

As for Brawl Block itself, for me it means a lot more. Standard is Standard, the meta get's solved (Except for Witchwood) and the game becomes stale. If someone wants to play Wild they have to run a broken deck if they want to play on ladder, which who doesn't? We're all trying to get our golden heroes. And that leaves hardly any room for experimentation. Whereas Brawl Block scratches that itch of being able to use what a player has in their collection without the daunting task of taking down Big Priest, Odd Paladin, or that Warlock deck that shuffles its hand back into it's deck.

My last point is your last sentence (people have formatted replies better than I have because I haven't figured it out quite yet so forgive me) I think ALOT of the set back with tournament mode was that there was an obvious disconnect between what players wanted and what could be realistically made by the devs, there's even an article about it: https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/09/18/blizzard-halts-development-on-hearthstones-tournament-mode I think they realized they couldn't satisfy a lot of people and that's why they dropped it because we haven't heard about it for almost a year.

    Challenge #10 - Dragon Hunter (NFS) -

This week's NFS challenge will be based on danny's Dragon Control Hunter!

Dragon Hunter is one of my favorite archetypes and I always respect a man trying to include an Emeriss finish (especially after Bright-Eyed Scout rotated).  I also like that he's trying to use Carrion Drake :D

  • So, there will be no card reveal today?

As I understand it and remember from the time, 2 years ago Blizzard gave Toast a short ban since he discovered and streamed a flaw/bug (Might have been a 'cheat') in the game.

What I remember thinking at the time it was unfair, since Toast had done this kind of thing since the game had started. It was poor treatment towards a community member, and imo Toast's view of Bliz and the game since has not been the same.

This is not bias towards or against toast, just my recollection from the time.

But here is the Reddit and Toast's own YouTube explanation.

My favourite Uldum card so far is BEEEES!!! :)

I like it's very unique design and the fact that it can trigger sooo many combos... Including 2,5k armor in Wild :D

Also the name is hilarious... seriously, there's so many things I like about it :D

  • Elise Starseeker: Queen of BMing

I pre-ordered this expansion for only one reason: the sexy druid, Elise Starseeker!!!

I have never had so much fun BMing in my entire life!!! Some of you probably still believe this art (yeah, BMing is a type of art ;) ) is bad and childish, but c'mon, we play games to have fun after all, and what is more fun than making fun of your opponents when they cannot hit you in the face because you are behind a keyboard??? :D :D :D

I'm totally convinced this hero is perfect for the job. Why? Let's take a look at her best emotes:

    - "You have legendary skill, my friend" (Well Played): Totally savage when you use it to mock your opponents (which is 100% of the time, probably).

    - "I will teach you a lesson" (Threaten): This emote is perfect to spam and also, to use it at the begining of any match. Just for using it only one time, your opponent knows already you are an arrogant douche full of yourself!!! :D :D :D

    And finally...

    - "This is a... teaching moment" (Oops): Perfect emote when you have lethal, makes you look arrogant and superior to your opponent (just like the Threaten emote does), but the most important thing about it is that it also fits perfectly after a match of spamming "I will teach you a lesson", which usually makes your opponent insanely angry and salty, because well, you had it planned all the time, my friend, didn't you? ;) ;) ;) Receiving a friend request because of this is not a rare thing, my dear ex-Hearthpwners. :D :D :D

For this three reasons (and probably many more...) Elise Starseeker is THE QUEEN OF BMING!!! Or do you think there is already other hero in the game better for the job? Make a comment on this thread to prove me wrong, please. :) :) :)

Note: I know I'm going to be downvoted to hell by cry babies, but well, who cares??? I had to make this thread, I couldn't resist the temptation!!! :P :P :P

  • [Game] Deck Doctor Challenge!

I haven't had a chance to watch the last couple weeks so I'll update with thoughts later, but here are the latest Firebat challenges!

    Challenge #8 - Rezz Priest (FS) -

Author describes the deck as, "Big priest like deck in standard, using cloning gallery and death rattles to have big swing turns using mass resurrect."

    Challenge #9 - Deathrattle Rogue (FS) -

Author describes the deck as, "Mechrium Rogue. Necrium package + skaterbots to feed big deathrattles, and a ton of draw and removal to get you there."

  • [Theorycraft] Shadow of Death / Leeroy Jenkins OTK deck

So I had an idea on how to make a Standard OTK deck by using discounted Shadow of Deaths to fill the board with copies of Leeroy Jenkins.

What do you think? Are there better ways to pull off the combo (in Wild, Emperor Thaurissan would make this a whole lot easier) than what I have? And I don't know what to do with the rest of the deck, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Legend Wackey Lackey Handlock

Been having fun with the deck i can hold my ground against control warrior but bomb warrior is abit harder when they turned to doctor boom. Any advice :)

  • Uldum Priest Card Reveal - Embalming Ritual

Double Twilight’s Call does the same job, but better... can be fished with Shadow Visions and does not need Emperor

  • [Game] Deck Doctor Challenge!

    Work has been rough and
    I've fallen behind,
    but the Deck Doctor challenge
    must still shine!

Sorry for the delay dear friends (i.e. NightCrawler, haha) but we have new episodes to talk about!

First off, I was digging the Mage deck you posted and it made me wish we had a mode where the full collection was available so you could test out cards to see if you wanted to craft them (although, in my case, I'm 4 legendaries off and can't make the deck yet regardless).  You could put whatever restrictions you wanted on it and I'd probably still be interested; e.g., you only play against shitty bots, you can't earn any xp/gold/quest progress, you can only play ____ per day/week/rotation (X games, X class(es), X sets, X cards, etc.).  Anyway, that deck looked fun and I liked your point about certain archeypes which struggled early on actually being somewhat competitive in the current meta.

I was also sorry to hear about your trials and tribulations with the Druid decks :\  It's crazy that they literally nerfed the class into the ground, but there at least looks to be plenty of (meme) potential from some of the SoU cards :D   Although I saw your warnings, I had to experience the frustration for myself and went down a Beast Druid path after seeing the Predatory Instincts + Witchwood Grizzly + Witching Hour combo in the Heal Dragon deck (also fit my limited collection, haha).

I got as far as the version below before becoming frustrated and never copied it over here.  Mage was almost impossible and I wanted Naturalize back so badly both for Giant punishment and to mill those greedy bastards :P  I thought the deck might be viable if you included a Gonk, the Raptor package or maybe went with more beasts overall to play on curve and spell buff, but I didn't have time to explore more.

Here's the rationale I posted on the deck page:

This deck prefers control matches so you can mulligan hard for Predatory Instincts in the hopes of dropping it on Turn 4 followed by a buffed Witchwood Grizzly on T5 or, ideally, Stampeding Roar into a buffed Ironhide Direhorn on T6.  You can then drop Witching Hour if they kill off your buffed beast and starting on T8 you can combo this with Faceless Manipulator in the hopes of hitting a buffed or high health beast with Crazed Alchemist for some finishing damage.

In aggro match-ups you mulligan primarily for Doomsayer and Wild Pyromancer, but may also keep things like Wrath and Keeper Stalladris.

Survivability and card draw is achieved via Pyromancer + Acolyte of Pain against aggro and Ferocious Howl against control.

Crystal Power acts as a cheap Pyromancer activator against aggro and a way to heal your buffed beasts against control (will typically save Stalladris to combo with Crystal Power against control for more healing).

Moonfire has similar synergy with Pyromancer and can be used to take down a giant if you're able to pull Ironhide Direhorn with Stampeding Roar.

  • Uldum Rogue Card Reveal - Shadow of Death

    Quote From Tofukozo

Even probably keeps the buffs on minions

We know this how? This is not how the mechanic works on any other card. Shuffling Pogo Hopper, for instance, shuffles the 1/1, not whatever version happened to be on the board at the moment. The only exception is the Paladin 2 drop, which prints the fact that it IS an exception on the card itself.

  • Uldum Rogue Card Reveal - Shadow of Death

Good point ! I'm sure Tak would see a lot more play if it was less costly. But as you said if Tak didn't survive a turn must be that it is a strong 'cause otherwise it would survive a few turn right ?

  • Winter Veil Wreath

Holiday ? well not for now :)

  • Uldum Rogue Card Reveal - Shadow of Death

    Quote From JackStraps

i think this card will go pretty well with Tak Nozwhisker

Seem like made for each other

And yet here’s the annoying thing: playing both at the same time, just like Academic Espionage, costs 11 mana. So you either need The Coin or Preparation to combo anything worthwhile, or watch Tak just get wiped out the turn before you play Shadow of Death.

Rather than Rise of Mechs, where a bunch of class cards from a single expansion get a boost, now that we have an established precedent for buffs, perhaps Blizzard should now go back and adjust a bunch of legendaries that didn’t quite work out as originally implemented. Would making Tak cost 5 and lowering his baseline stats really be that out of line? (As one of the few people who has ever played the card, I have literally never seen his 6/6 body survive into the next turn; he could be a 3/3 for all it really matters.)

  • So, there will be no card reveal today?

Can someone explain to me with no bias or toxicity what happened?

  • The Pepper Thread - Share Some Good Vibes!

So I finally managed  to defeat Archmage Kalec today with a double old gods priest deck with other goodies that finally gave me the edge over that prick.
