Title says most of it - there's some great cards being released supporting archtypes that needed a buff. I've really enjoyed the paladin Air Raid card in my homebrew dragon-heal-pure paladin (great vs face hunter) and had some fun with the beast embiggen druid that's currently doing the rounds here and on hearthpwn.
Anybody found a good/fun deck for the new mage elemental or anything else of note from these new additions?

As you know, after rise of Secret Burn Mage, Evenlock disappeared from the Wild meta. I tried BenFromWork's new dragon version of the deck and it surprised me positively. I went 8-0 (r4), even defeating 2 Mages. Of course, this can be a pure luck or me being too good ;), but if you would like to (at least) try an old deck with some new cards; and you enjoy shivers by constantly being on the verge of death, this deck is for you.

So I just cracked the Legend Barrier for the first time. Usually I don't bother because I don't wanna spend the effort only to get a bad losing streak and get stuck between ranks forever.....but apparently Embiggen Druid is so OP right now that I could just roll through most of my games.
It might just be one of the least counterable decks I have ever played. Sure, it depends on draw RNG a lot, but if it gets a good curve there's basically fuckall you can do to stop it.
So yeah, I guess I'll be enjoying my extra rewards at the end of the month and won't need to bother going for Rank 5 next season.
Also I'm gonna have as much fun as I can with Winged Guardian before it gets nerfed into oblivion. Turns out there'S a reason why Soggoth the Slitherer was statted the way he was.

One of the biggest things that attracted me to this game was that Riot had ditched the random-packs model, allowing the players to craft exactly the cards they want. In particular, the uncertain rarities of the cards in random packs often leads to a feels-bad situation when, for example, you get nothing but forty dust worth of garbage in Hearthstone.
So in Runeterra, I kinda hate the way that, even at max level, the Vault reward is mostly bad cards by default, with a random chance to upgrade each drop. It is basically full of random packs!
(For those who don't know: A diamond chest contains several hundred shards plus three rare capsules. Each rare capsule contains a handful of common cards and one guaranteed rare, much like a Hearthstone pack. And also like Hearthstone, there's a very small random chance that each capsule and card can spontaneously upgrade to a rarer version of itself.)
Getting three rare capsules that fail to upgrade out of a diamond chest is a bit of a letdown, considering how hard you worked to earn it.
I would much rather receive slightly fewer, better rewards than a larger number of weak rewards that might upgrade if I get lucky. A diamond chest should guarantee at least one epic capsule, don't you think?
This whole random upgrade thing is just a throwback to the microtransaction model everyone is starting to despise, which I thought Runeterra might be trying to move away from. Can we please just ditch it altogether?

After playing different card games for years, i am here to give you my take on LOR.
The snowball in this game is HUGE, you need to let players draw 2 cards each round, there are too many cards in your deck and if you don't happen to have a specific card/answer(usually a spell) in your hand the game can end in just 1 turn due to the sire amount of power each card holds.
Things only get worse with how overpowered spells are, it's actually the only way to force a kill on an opponet's unit("challenger" ain't reliable) making them frustrating and underwhelming to play against.
You can lose the entire game due to a single spell, a complete 100% turn around.
Ideas to fix this:
1) Up the nexus HP to 25 or even 30, making the game a bit slower and letting us take 1-2 more attacks reducing the need of answers to be so asap.
2) To compensate for the HP buff, let us draw 2 cards per turn resetting the game's paste and giving back aggro the power it lost from the higher HP. +what i have told above.
3) Let every region use "deny", indirectly nerfing all spells a little bit.
I am extremely open to discussion, especially from a competitive view, cause i am only talking about casual playing.
My English ain't that sharp, sorry for any mistakes i made.

As well as Vanguard Firstblade; that shouldn't have permanent 'Attack' gains, though not all of these types are as obscene as Battering Ram or Firstblade, and at least Firstblade is counterable as it starts as a 2/2.
6 Mana for a 0/12 with Overwhelm that gets a permanent +4 every time it attacks... that's absurd, that's so cheap for such a powerful card. Only one card comes close to this and that's Scarmother Vrynna, who's a 6 Mana, 3/8 that gains +3 when she survives damage.
Battering Ram needs to have it's +4 when Attacking made in to 'This Round' or have it's health reduced to 6.
At the moment the only counters to Battering Ram are Noxian Guillotine (if damaged), Vengeance or Ruination. Two of which are... also Noxus based.

Or will it simply revert to it's default state?

Hello Guys !
The Open Beta begins in less than 10 hours for players who pre-registered and who played in previews so I wanted to write some advices here for who couldn't follow news and couldn't play in previews.
Firstly, here is the countdown if you want to check how much times left to release.
First things first;
Don't forget it is open beta state - There might be more aggressive tweaks/nerfs/buffs on cards so be cautious to craft cards and be cautious to choose your starting Region.
Firstly, You will play tutorial and Prologue and game will give you these starter decks;
Deck ID Not Found
Deck ID Not Found
Deck ID Not Found
If you want, you can build some decks with these cards but for some time before some rewards, They will be ok while you are learning the game's mechanics.
After your prologue, it probably chooses Noxus for your region. If you want to change it, you can change it in regions tab.
Choose your region according to what you like to play. I mean, The Archetypes. Don't choose it for its power in my opinion because there might be some aggressive tweaks in a month because it is beta. If you want to go for aggro, you may choose Noxus or Shadow Isles, If you like combo style more, try Ionia or Piltover&Zaun, there are some fancy combo opportunities in Shadow Isles and Demacia (Fiora)as well but the other two has more resources for it, If you like control you can choose Shadow Isles or Freljord, Midrange is best with Demacia but all of the regions have great Midrange canditates except Piltover&Zaun, and lastly if you want ramp style Freljord will be your choice.
Also try to get 8 level in every region instead of focusing only one. There are Champion Capsules as a reward at 8th level for every region. It will also help you to collect some rares and commons of every region and you might build more efficient decks.
After you choose your region to start, it is time to play !
Weekly Vaults will be your main source to collect cards with your regional rewards and it will give you Expedition token if you reach 10+ level. With Open Beta, There will be also a free Expedition token at start. Don't forget to play your Expeditions with your token because up to 3 Expedition runs, you will get 1x Champion wildcard. Weekly, it will give you 3x Champion Wildcards if you play all. There will be no rewards unfortunately if you play your 4+ Expedition run.
Weekly Vaults will be reset at Tuesdays so play as much as you can until tuesday to be able to open at least level 10 Vault. Maximum Vault level is 13 but doing just daily quests will give you 10 level Vault according to what Riot said us.
You will be given experience points also for your losses until 20 lose and wins will give you experience until 30 wins. If you reach the cap, Play some AI games because AI games will also give you experience points and their experience points are seperated from versus player experience points. I really liked this because it makes us more happy to try some of our shitty decks on AI and we will get rewarded to doing so!
It will be like;
PvP - 30 wins - 20 Losses
PvAI - 20 wins - 10 losses
There will be no experience points after this moment. Only extra experience poins different from these are Expedition run's bonus experience so;
I recommend you to play all(3) Expeditions until Tuesday to be able to collect champion cards. It will be also wiser even you don't like draft mode because it costs only 4000k Shards which Champion Wildcards is also same cost and it is guaranteed to get a champion card even you lose your drafts and Expedition runs will give you bonus experience points when you finish them.
If you will buy wildcards with coins, don't hurry to craft some champions. Wait for a bit, because;
1- You might regret after a while
2- You might get what you want from Capsules (i'm saying this but there is no-duplicate rule in Runeterra for Champion cards and Epic Cards. The reason I'm saying this, You might want to save those Wildcards for future.
3- If you can be patient for 4 months and you are planning to buy all of the wildcards as you can in next weeks, you can save 48 champion wildcards for next expansion and that means total of 16 x3 champion wildcards. You can craft whichever champion you want from next expansion ! You just need to be patient and play like a f2p player at start while you are stacking those wildcards. Be Patient !
And don't take it serious but don't craft Teemo at start !
No, I'm serious ! Don't do that !
I am saying this because almost all people are planning to play hyper/normal aggro at first day and all of Teemo decks are vulnerable against aggro sadly except Full Elusive deck without puffcap cards.
And last ! There is already a deck tracker here;
There will be also some account statistics with deck tracker if you open an account on Mobalytics. Noone tried the decktracker yet so noone knows how it will be but it is the only one I know.
Well, I've finished now. Don't forget to check Open Beta Patch Notes and Open Beta Economy Updates !
Also, if you have any other advices, feel free to share here.
Good luck on your run and See you in Runeterra in 10 hours !

I'm really bad at remembering exactly how these "non-chain" (like in expansion drops) work for maximizing value. So new Lunar New Years Quests start tomorrow. How many quests should I have open tomorrow morning (EST) to max reroll and not miss any?
I can't recall the actual workings - do we get a normal quest at tomorrow before the event starts (presumably at 09:00 PST like everything else) and then a SECOND event quest once the event starts? I want to have the 2 to reroll without missing a free "extra" one if that's part of it. So do I need to save ONLY today's quest & tomorrow's normal quest to reroll (i.e. I saved yesterday's quest too - should I complete it?)? Or is it just the one quest tomorrow so I should have yesterday's and today's quest saved?
Thank you!

Hello everyone,
Following the reveal of Galakrond's Awakening, I got inspired to get creative and try to make my own adventure.
This is my first time trying to design a custom set of cards, and I'm at that point where I finished it and want to see other people's opinions about it.
The set would be the last of the Year of the Dragon (and kind of like an imaginary alternative to Galakrond's Awakening). My main goal was to create a set of 35 cards that would be coherent, that would bring freshness to the current meta, that would support multiple archetypes for all classes, that would be powerful (to follow up on DoD), that would be fun, that would be (at least somewhat) balanced, and that would bring a slightly slower pace to the game, in order to make the mid-game shine more for all classes. As I tried to focus on the actual playability of the cards themselves, I didn't try to think too much about a theme or try to be too innovative (no new keywords, etc). I instead went for the "Galakrond's Awakening"'s route of trying to expend on the current sets, as well as bringing back some keywords from this year. The goal wasn't to have each card make you go WOW but to just create a proper collection that would try to respect Hearthstone's design philosophy in a world where Galakrond's Awakening didn't really happen.
I will be commenting on most cards to provide some insights. Also, forgive me if sometimes the flavor is awkward, I tried my best to at least make everything look decent !
Each class gets 1 common, 1 rare, and 1 legendary. There are 2 neutrals of each rarity. Enjoy.

| Totems can be used for many things, especially with all the Lackeys around, so this aims to negate the drawbacks of Overloading by giving you something to do when you can't do much. | I believe that evolve is a fun mechanic, and I think such a card would give the archetype a lot of juice, especially since its effect can be triggered multiple times unlike spells. Synergizes with Primal Invocation quite nicely. | Very versatile, great value for a struggling class. Not an oppressive early game due to poor stats and overload. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| I believe Mage could use the help of a powerful, slow 1-drop that could be used across most of its archetypes. | Fun, versatile spell that aims to ease your curve a bit, if you highroll. Awesome in Cyclone decks. | A strong, relatively cheap tempo play to make up for the lack of good 4-drops in Mage, that I think would fit greatly with the rest of the cards. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| We saw the impact of Winged Guardian, and I believe priest could use a strong minion as well, but without the frankly obnoxious Taunt keyword. The optional battlecry is there because Priest has a lot of ways to buff its minions. | Giving love to control Priest but without giving love to resurrect Priest. Can also be used in combo decks, I guess. | This card has a lot of potential and I love it. Insane tempo and value, at the "cost" of delaying fatigue. Priest could really use some fun stuff like this that doesn't fall into either combo or resurrect archetypes. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| I really like zoolock as an archetype because it revolves around "carry" minions and "enabler" minions that all need to work together, unlike Galakrond Warlock which is just token spamming. | Handlock is finally a thing and it would be a shame to see it go. Also great in zoo. | What is great with Warlock is that it's also a fun control class. This one could surely make for some cool moments. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Nowadays, Rogue revolves quite a bit around finding answers out of thin air. I like this philosophy, even if I can see how it can be frustrating, as an opponent, when you don't know what to expect. Really good to complete the Uldum quest, too. | Rogue doesn't have insane expensive spells, so this can't really be abused... unless you find a way to abuse it. Probably a bit too good with Togwaggle ? | And even more craziness, to conclude from the last two cards. Have fun ! |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Sure, Mech Paladin would love this, but how about some support for control Paladin while we're at it ? please ? | Just a sweet weapon with great value in the early game. | Now, all we needed was to give control Paladin a win condition. Hope this does it. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| A tool to deal with all the Rush minions in the current meta. Batterhead better watch out! Also neat against Divine Shield minions. | Great value overall, always welcome in most Hunter decks in my opinion. | An argument in favor of giving Secret Hunter a real purpose. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| A really powerful minion to keep the board in check, and that synergizes with most Warrior minions. | Control Warrior is still a thing, Dr Boom isn't gone yet, I believe such a minion could be of use. | Pirate Warrior needs a leader. Also, this is just a very strong minion that most Warrior archetypes would appreciate. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Ferocious Howl is rotating out, and I think it needs a replacement. | OK, maybe this card doesn't need to exist, but Treant Druid is finally somewhat viable, so let's embrace it ! | A decent minion for ramp/control/quest Druid, if you can enable him. Potentially spooky depending on how easy Druid can get Armor. |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| Just a fun RNG 2-drop. | A minion that hides among the Lackeys. | Delay your draw but stop aggro. Worth it ? |
![]() | ![]() | ![]() |
| The packfiller of the set Again, basically a minion that synergizes with all the Lackeys. | The set is heavily centered around giving control decks more power, so I believe such a card would be welcome in some aggro decks. | I made sure to design some neat 6-drops just to so I could justify this card because I like it. Very fun in my opinion. |
![]() | ![]() | |
| Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! | And at last, a final love letter to Highlander decks. |
Thank you for reading my thread ! I hope you had fun. I sure did. Getting creative like that felt awesome. Can't wait to see what the next year will bring.
Feel free to reply !
Some of the boards look cool, but I'm scared to buy one if I don't know what the music sounds like. Is there a way we can sample the music tracks for each board?

I personally find this to be very sad news for myself and the Priest class in general. No one championed Priest more than him. And he was one of the very few streamers that I always watched, supported, and contributed financially. This is a clear reflection of how bad a shape Priest is in Standard; and Priest only fares a little better in Wild.
Priest is my favorite class but it is very clearly Blizzard's least favorite. And while no one cares whether I play Hearthstone, losing the support of high profile players and streamers ultimately affects the entire game's popularity and success.

Ya know i could forgive not getting any bonus stuff for being in the open beta last year, but the fact that all progress was robbed from us is pretty ridiculous I have to go through the tutorial and the early rewards and get a loooot less wildcards than from the beta. The idea of this game from what i remember was in order to make a very accessible card game where i could play any deck i want but now im sitting here grinding the prebuilt jinx and zed deck in order to get my cool decks back. Really dumb.

Do you get any sort of bonus to the starting region that notices you after the prologue rewards are finished or is it just the one you get from using most of their cards??

I'm not sure how I feel about this. An expedition token is nice but I really liked the idea of consistently getting a champion each week. I also can't find the exact rewards you can get for expeditions so if someone else does please let me know. If it's not too difficult to get a champion card from expeditions (or enough shards to craft one) I can understand and like this change much better.
EDIT: Okay nevermind, in the video in which they explain expeditions they say that you're guaranteed a champion card from expeditions regardless of how many wins you get, which actually makes this change to the vault rewards pretty awesome (Unless you really hate playing expeditions I guess).
Here's where I found this information: https://www.metabomb.net/legends-of-runeterra/gameplay-guides/legends-of-runeterra-expeditions-guide
And here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=253&v=G3rwIEliVOY&feature=emb_title&ab_channel=LegendsofRuneterra
Although it might still be nice to spread this information a bit more, you can delete this thread if you want to dear moderators.

I've played 12 games with Tirion and got 11 wins. One loss might be the first game, so I'm on a 11-win streak, which is amazing.
1 mana gain 2/2, 3/3 in the early game and then going up to 7/7, is it too powerful? What is your experience with him so far?

While Wild Growth has been out of the meta for a time since its nerf, the recent release of Winged Guardian has brought a Midrange, Dragon/Ramp/Embiggen Druid back into the game leveraging the new ramp abilities provided by Breath of Dreams. It remains to be seen how this deck will fare over time as the meta settles and new cards are released, but for now it's putting up an appreciable presence, making this a good time to look at it.
One thing to note upfront is that this isn't a discussion of nerfs. While you could make a case for nerfing Breath of Dreams, you could also make a case for nerfing tons of stuff from Descent of Dragons, given the immense power creep in the set. For what it's worth, I'm a bit pleased that Druid at least has a deck to work with now after its period of dormancy.

Anyway, I can refund 2 of my rare wildcards, but when I do, it says that it will invalidate one of my decks. Did I spend 2 extra wild cards? Is this a bug?
I sent a support ticket, but I haven't heard from Riot in 2 days.
Help?

Most of the posts I make tend to be information centric, whether it is about a bug, statistics, a guide, or maybe just questioning the way things are done. All of these things fall under "discussion", I suppose. I think that a category I would really like to have is something along the lines of "information". People would post guides, and discussion of the way things work, whereas "discussion" can be where people whine about the meta or give opinions on things, like this post. I'm not sure who I need to talk to to get this type of flair introduced, but I think it would be helpful for people looking for guides in particular.

This card was created for Hearthpwn's Custom Class competition #5 "Trials and Errors". I worked more on it and i wish to share it with you guys to see what you think. So what's a Bloodburner?

Description
All magic needs fuel. Most mages use mana as it is safe (as much as it can be) and plentiful. But it's not the most powerful, no, that would be Blood Magic. To use one's own blood as fuel is incredibly dangerous and most would run dry in a few casts. in truth the only ones who can wield it properly are lizardfolk with their powerful regenerative abilities.
Bloodburners use their own health as fuel, self damage is a key mechanic of the class. A powerful tool is always present at their disposal, that being the Hero Power: "Blood to Fire". Odd mage showed what 2 damage for 2 mana can do early and late game, but like Warlocks, you also pay 2 life yourself whenever you use it. But this can be an advantage, especially to activate the class' keyword Fresh Blood:

Fresh Blood can trigger during your turn or the opponent's as well, forcing him to think if he should go face or eliminate the minions with this keyword.
In short, the class is centered around these:
