Not sure about this one. Mage usually runs too many small spells that could eat up the buff. If you do get it on a high value spell early on it's pretty scary though.
I'm not sure about this one. Big spell mage isn't much of thing, there are too many good small spells. I would hate to have the discount go on a 2 or 3 mana card.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Probably bad. If you're running nothing by big spells then this might be good. But most of the time this will just buff something already cheap in your hand and you'll wonder why you even run this card in your deck.

Most of the times you will want this to hit something big or something specific, but since it is random and you need spells to make the trigger it feels pretty difficult. I don't like it.
Seems to be either hit or miss with this card considering the reward. If only it would always discount your highest cost spell, it would have had much better potential.

Small spells are generally important for Mage, but if you run many small spells you are at risk of not gaining much benefit from this new weapon. This limits you to only play big spells, but that might be too detrimental. I know it's a stretch, but in Wild a new Naga Sand Witch deck just might pop up because of this.
Not great, not bad. Still a weapon for mage that can really do with a couple of discounts getting rid of small spells to gain a big follow up with big spells in hand.
This looks like it belong in a big spell mage with Clumsy Courier. Not enough support for that yet and not really that many big spells unless you want to try an elemental mage with Grand Finale. This weapon definitely needs more support.

Hmm seems kinda.. bad. Needs big spell support, which it doesn't have it standard. But even in wild, why would you want to risk discounting a spell to <5 mana? That just means 1 less dragon from Dragoncaller Alanna.
The only time i can see Celestial Ink Set being used is in either wild in a big spell deck and just pray that it hits a 10 cost spell, or in standard once it gets the support it needs.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.

I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Yeah, very iffy. Really all depends on which spell catches the discount.

2 things,
1) I'm SOOOOOOO glad this only has 2 durability and,
2) I'm SOOOOOOO glad that it will only hit 1 card in hand
Not very good. If I play big spells, I'm playing the new Clumsy Courier card, and want the big spell for free.
Could be a thing in wild or future "big spell" support.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.

Big investment with a big chance to just whiff completely.

Could be good, maybe. Assuming a Big Spell Mage deck can work.
I;d rather play naga sand witch.
Not really consistent as this can go on a cheap spell but good enough to see experimentation.

Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
Or I could play Incanter's flow and discount all my spells.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
Might actually make a case for a Big Spell Mage, play a 5 cost spell, get a second free!
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
