Whatever spell that plays with this minion, its sure to at least remove something from the board so this card is an instant build around for a big spell mage deck, assuming that it ever gets to that point. The main problem facing this card from seeing any play is that quest mage is still the dominant mage around, and this card is shit there.
Still, being able to get something like Flamestrike, Arcane Overflow, or Deep Freeze out with a 6/6 is a wonderful thing to behold. Now if team5 can just get rid of quest mage we might actually see a winner here.
Seems excessively pointless. The best you can do is Mask of C'thun into Mask again (Deep Freeze might freeze your own stuff, Flamestrike is pointless in this meta).
It really bums me out that after an entire expansion of Mage doing the same Spell-only shit with no other archetype even close to playable they still lowball the actual minions that could help them out. I get they design these expansions in advance, but how do you not look at the state of mage and go "maybe the minions shouldn't be complete garbage".
I guess we just have to wait for more big spells in the next expansion
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.

Welp, goes to show how much I cared about the card before. I guess that could make it somewhat playable although I wonder how a deck that requires to make it to turn 8 to then maybe bully their opponent with Water Elementals would ever make it into the meta.
Not really a whole ton of options for expensive spells right now. Putting minions in your deck weakens Refreshing Spring Water, and who uses Mask of C'Thun?
The best thing I've found is using it in wild to duplicate Time Warp. With two parrots and two mirror images, I was able to take 8 turns in a row and completely lock out a druid with 30+ armor.
