I'm so sad for High Priest Thekal, it was one of my favorite legendary card.
But happy about armor tech existence. Sometimes, the existence of cards can be enough for decks to stop abusing mechanics. This is a card of a kind.
For example, I am always playing around secret techs while i'm playing secret decks, same with weapons or Mind Control Tech or boardwipes.
From now, I will play around this card while I am playing warrior.
But poor High Priest Thekal, I really love that card and it is the only real time that he can shine more until this card revealed. He is completely dead in wild because of huge armor stacks of wild meta. He was mechanically perfect, shame they killed that precious legendary.
I personally think that this card's effect should have been like "Remove 10 armor from your opponent, If they have 25(or 20/30 for balance) or more armor, remove all instead." because you know, 20 armor is normal but 100 is not !
I can't believe they printed this card! Will be so important in case of dominance of warrior, maybe also against druid and paladin (goodbye Thekal, no more useful)
"Now you will suffer for Theramore, Garrosh!" - Jaina (FreezeMage) laughs in the corner.
To be honest, it's a great card, but as my quote tells, i fear the overcome of Combodecks, because you have no longer the option to stop them with armor gain...
A deck like shrivallah paladin is already looking very strong versus all the dragon decks that don't pressure the opponent and just generate tons of value.
Just when i was thinking that maybe warriors will gain too much armor (there are the dragon that gives 5 armor, the breath that gives 5 armor and all the other armor gain cards that warriors already played) for shrivallah paladin to reliable win versus dragon warrior i see this in the main page.
If dragon warrior become a thing, shirvallah paladins will put 1 of this in their decks and still win all of the slowest matchup.
I think this card will be played only in combo decks (the ones that does damage obviously, not the mecha'thun ones for example) only if a deck in the meta is gaining too much armor and goes out of reach

So there it is. The card I was waiting for way back, but realised how stupid it was when High Priest Thekal was printed. At least it’s a counter to endless warrior or druid armor.
The power level of this expansion is too damn high!!
Platebreaker is certainly a surprise, and yes it looks like a hard counter to control Warrior and Druid archetypes, but it's not necessarily overpowered.
First, you would never run more than one of these because they're only useful against two classes*. Second, because this is worse than vanilla against most classes, you'd need to see a lot of control-style Warrior and Druid decks on the ladder before teching it in (according to Vicious Syndicate's last standard report, together they're probably around 13% of the ladder, and Warrior is nowhere near the top tier of decks despite its armor). Finally, you'd need to see armor as the major reason you're losing against Warrior and Druids on the ladder. As noted, Control Warrior isn't strong right now, and Quest Druid's access to armor doesn't really stave off hyper aggressive decks today.
Honestly, I think this is a card that, if it were in standard today, would see no play at all. The only way that changes is if Control Druid, Control Warrior, and Thekal Paladin all become major ladder contenders, which seems unlikely. In either case, this card seems like it was printed to bully some of the degenerate strategies in wild, and will be fine in standard.
* Technically Paladin and Mage can both generate armor (with High Priest Thekal and Ice Barrier respectively), but the uses are narrow. This definitely feels bad for High Priest Thekal, but Paladin has enough healing that he may still be worth playing for the games when Platebreaker isn't teched in.
This card can be easily played around and you can even bait it out if you think your opponents carying it so don't think its a problem, just a handy tool
Omg, at last. A tech card against armor. I almost feel bad for the armor decks. And high priest Thekal.
But nevertheless I am impressed they grew the balls to print this one. Mad props.
You should experiment even more. And I don't mean with even more rng cards, but with different ideas and tech cards.

this is insane. honestly i feel this is unhealthy for the game, 30 damage OTKs are more and more viable now and this card sets them up perfectly the turn before.
Ooohhhh, this is going to be hell'a FUN both standard and wild! 5stars just for being unique

Not everyone is mother tongue! Roar.
Let's print another powerful tech card and make other class unplayable.
While we're at it, let's also play rock paper scissor.
Secret Mage, Jade Druid, Kingsbane Rogue, Control decks with armor, and more of them.
The perfect tech card vs armor druid or warrior. I thought they´d never add sth like that, but I´m so happy they did
Now this is something new and amazing! The bane of Malfurion and Garrosh!
And in the end they finally print the anti-armor tech card. On Wild this may kill those few Druids and Control Warrior left.

Omg, I've been waiting so long for this card. I'm so glad this day has finally come.
Hopefully it'll actually be useful in some meta while it's still available in Standard.
After all this time I was sure they would never print this card. But here we are... :)

And they finally did it....We have waited for this tech card for ages...actually this should be a classic card.
Those who complaining about this card are probably warrior or druid players....stop whining guys...it's like
a weapon removal any decent deck should have one.
Love how this is common, like Blizz saying "Yeah, that's not a very big deal"
This card can be easily played around and you can even bait it out if you think your opponents carying it so don't think its a problem, just a handy tool
This is an extremely powerful card going forward, regardless of how relevant armor is to the meta.
this has immediate use in wild. Goodbye infinite armor drui
